Oh, this is beautiful! I love all the parallels, here. Ruby and the Doctor both being abandoned orphans of unknown parentage, and that being a coincidence that brought them together in a time of coincidences as magic... I'm glad that they're going to keep digging around in that story. This is going to be a great season! ❤️
When Ncuti says "I'm the Doctor" at the end of the episode, did someone else thought "oh yes you are!"? Because I'm absolutely in love with him already!!

This is absolutely incredible! I loved the dynamics between the fifteenth doctor and ruby and this video perfectly encapsulates how much the doctor needs someone to travel with! I love how much the doctor and ruby have in common and I think their similarities really brought out some emotions in the doctor that they've tried to keep bottled up! I was skeptical because of how the 60th specials introduced him, but I think Ncuti might be the most hopeful Doctor Who. Unburdened by the past and looking forward to the future, he always has an infectious smile on his face.

Russell T Davies said once that his goal with this new era is that it should be positive and happy, because there's so many bad news on the news channels and negativity in the world, so Doctor Who should be a place of positivity. Doctor Who should be the place where you go for about an hour every Saturday and just be happy. and I couldn't agree more. in fact, I think that that's what stories are for at its heart. a place of positivity and happiness where you can go anywhere you want and just be happy and forget about all the negativity of the real world, at least for a little bit.

@@thomas_vd I personally disagree. It making the doctor the most important person in the universe from birth I think is a massive misstep.
They could’ve easily made the doctor the chosen one initially anyway but they chose not to. The doctor was intentionally no one. Just a rebel that ran away breaking the rules cuz they’ve felt different to everyone else.
That’s why the doctor has companions. The whole point of the show is that u can be no one and still be special. Like every companion is from start to end and like how the doctor is.
@@thomas_vd I can disagree cuz it absolutely does I always got the sense the doctor was adopted anyway tbh but I don’t think u should give an entire history when the show is called Doctor who. It does make him important from birth, the Doctor gave life to the most powerful all mighty race in creation. He wasn’t a nobody anymore. He just wasn’t. I don’t like it, I don’t have to like it either. I like that h do like it but I don’t even think it makes sense. “Man is a sum of his memories is he not” that’s the doctor he’s only the doctor cuz of his memories after regeneration cuz his personality and every single cell in his body changes. Therefore how is the timeless child the doctor if they’re from before the doctor and has none of the doctors memories and every cell in their body has been regenerated. They aren’t. Also takes away form the Tardis being stuck in police box form and just so much of the show.
Also yeh you can say he’s not the sole signal reason but he gave them the ability of regeneration I genuinely think I like the doctor more as someone who doesn’t do anything like that. I just do. I like him being someone who didn’t have amazing marks at the schools and wasn’t particularity different to anyone else apart from who he was at his core. There is no mystery behind the doctor anymore his name means nothing cuz he doesn’t even know why he chose it and was born with another name anyway that he can’t remember so the question Doctor who is irrelevant. I don’t want a doctor origin from when he was discovered as a child I just don’t.
@@thomas_vd no I’m not it’s literally what’s shown in front of me. The doctor is special. She revolutionises and entire race in fact the master destroys all of Gallifrey (with no explanation to how) because they made his life around the doctors cuz he’s that important. Cuz of nothing the doctor did. Just how they were born and their gift.
And yeh it does change that. We know the doctors mother, we know he doesn’t even know his name so that’s a nagging question to the whole show that’s become irrelevant and well. Just all of it rlly they go back and show his entire origin.
In my opinion they should only show the doctors childhood in glimpses, Elude to it.
For example In listen he’s crying in his bed and they say (he’ll never make a timelord) all we hear is a conversation. But that’s enough to have a more appropriate impact.
I don’t like the story, I want to like the story. I’m very open to what they’re doing with it now but the initial idea I think is bad
