  • This video didn't ended up as expected!
    Let me know if you have any questions! :)
    My theory about this specific car:
    I believe the throttle body was broken from the start of repair at Volvo. Lets say a slow response from the throttle valve finally caused the fuse to blow. The dealer replaced the broken unit and then didn't made any further investigation into the matter.

    If only all cars were so nice...My lights (low beam) stopped working. Volvo garage wants to replace the CEM plus electric box for 2300Euro.But when driving from the garage the lights did work. Should I avoid switching lights from 0 to dim and full light? Or should I bypass the whole CEM and get some wires to the low beam with a separated (amateur!) switch and some fuses to get the lights working?

    Excellent video, you are the best! A+++++
    I have a question if I have 12v from the battery but I don't have 4.8-5 volts coming from the ecm, what solution could I have? could it be that my ecm was damaged? I wait your answer thank you.!

    • @EFreddy
      @EFreddy  Před 2 lety

      Start with checking fuses in the fuse box, if those two are okay you need to check your wiring loom between the etm and ecm 😊 (for starters)

    Spännande hur knasigt det kan bli. Undrar hur dålig den gamla delen var?
    Mycket bra contents och ser fram emot mer reveiws på felkods utrustning och andra spännande utrustningar👍

    Tja! bra video där :) får felkoder på min s60 902a 902b 903f ser ut som att spjällhuset är bytt tidigare då 2 av skruvarna har gått av o sitter kvar i insuget bilen beter sej precis som denna på videon på kallstart så går den fint efter nån min så börjar den bludra på tomgång.. Har inte kollat säkringarna men ska göra det så fort som möjligt

    • @EFreddy
      @EFreddy  Před 3 lety +1

      Kolla så spjället ligger an ordentligt mot insuget. Samt slå även en kik på "spjällskivan" så där inte ligger smuts på baksidan, de blir knäppa om de inte är helt rena. 😊

    • @alexanderosmani8177
      @alexanderosmani8177 Před 3 lety

      Spjället var super ren kollade även säkringar dom var hela vad mer kan man kolla ?

      @@alexanderosmani8177 Antar att kablaget är kontrollerat. Om inte: Mät från ände till ände på varje kabel och sätt din multimeter på ohm. Är motståndet 1 ohm eller lägre så är kabeln okej. Nu tänker jag från bilens kontakt och inåt :)
      Om du har tillgång till ett oscilloskop: då är det dags att mäta kanal 1 och kanal 2 (de två olika kablarna det kommer ström till spjället) och jämföra parametrarna åt.
      Visar det sig att parametrarna inte matchar alls så är det ett nytt spjäll som gäller. Om jag får gissa så sitter det ett 9186793 i din bil. Alternativt ett 8644345. Hojta om du undrar nåt mer så skall jag försöka "fylla på" :)

      Fixat! Nu funkar den kanon. Felet var att de satt fel spjällhus från början jag bytte då till en samma med slut siffror 45 då ville bilen inte äns starta bytte då till en med slut siffror 93 o då funkar det klockrent min gissning är att den som bytte från början satte fel spjällhus och försökte då gifta in den med bilen blev dock aldrig bra.

    I have 2.8V on the pin described as 4.8V-5V, the same as yours. 12V is present but the error still exists. Why is there no 4.8V required there?

    • @EFreddy
      @EFreddy  Před 3 lety +2

      Since I made this video iv'e checked on another vehicle as well with the same value. The thing is that this is what is expected value according to Haynes etc. When ignition on like in the video.
      Do you hade any other fault codes? Is the resistance in the specific cable 1 ohm or lower? If its above 1 ohm it points at an partially broken cable.

      Problem solved. I ended up replacing the throttle.

    Hey thanks for the great detective work! I’ve got a 2004 v70R that went into safety limp mode after heavy slush driving, it then ceased to even attempt turnover- sat it for 48hrs and it started but not for long- whole dash cluster out of order. I’m being told I need to refurbish the entire CEM! It’s a lot of money and my hunch still tells me it may a more simple solution… I would like to hear your thought? Thank you so much for your content

      It feels like that yes. It's dangerous to just "assume" things. Better going from scratch without shortcuts. :)

    I have the same symptoms, car diagnostics showed the following errors: ECM-902B, ECM-980F, ECM-902A, ECM-620A, ECM-922A, ECM-951F, ECM-532D, ECM-903F. I measured the voltage as you explained, the lower voltage is 2.85 v, the higher voltage is 11.85 v. The 10 amp fuses are correct. Not solve, what next to do?

    • @EFreddy
      @EFreddy  Před 7 měsíci +1

      My conclusion is that the throttle body has an internal issue. Way back when there was an company called "Sacer" that sold the position sensor separately. If you are unable to find a used throttle body - I would try to source out a new postion sensor and replace it.
      The thing with these throttle bodys is that there's software in them. During the prime years of these cars Volvo replaced these on a regular basis. The oldest ones known for failure (at least in Sweden) has the partnr 9186793 and have a white sticker. These however is replaced with a newer version with a yellow sticker. These arent interchangeable, you need to find one with the same part number. Otherwise it's unlikely that the software is close enough for the car to run properly.
      Let me know how you solved the problem to help others.

      I got another house, but the car revs even higher and jerks. I was informed that factory needs to install software on the throttle in order for it to work properly.@@EFreddy
