One of the most handsome men ever! Especially like Cat, HUD, Sweet Bird and the Hustler. Best ensemble cast must go to Cat. Also agree Geraldine Page was amazing in Sweet Bird. Please do a review of her work.

Great tribute! Can't argue with your rankings I would have also given some mention of Harper and his cameo in Hemingway's Adventures of a Young Man as the punch drunk brawler. But well done!

Like Him in The Long Hot Summer, Sweet Bird of Youth, Paris Blues and From the Terrace even though they weren't oscar worthy materials.....Favorites......Cat On The Hot Tin Roof, Hud, Cool Hand Luke.....He plays a a good no gooder😍........Back then He was so good looking and sinful (sigh)

I also have nothing but respect for any marriage (Hollywood or otherwise) that endures.
My favorite Newman anecdote: well-known as loving competitive car racing, perhaps less well known is the customized VW Beetle he drove -- modified with Grand Prix suspension and a Porche engine. Paul would love young hot-rodders to spot him and challenge him to a light-to-light race on the streets. Have to wonder how the competition felt being smoked by a Beetle....
There is so much talent in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Burl Ives, Judith Andersen, Liz Taylor snd that blue eyed god that is Newman. Watch the James Dean and Paul Newman video where they are reading together and look at how Paul Newman is looking at James Dean.
A good list but I'm not in total agreeance. The Mackintosh Man doesn't even get an honourable mention. His performance in the Sting has to make the top ten in my opinion.
Young Philadelphians should be in there, surely, and in the top half. Hombre and Exodus, too, should feature. I'd go The Hustler, Young Philadelphians, The Verdict, Hud, Cool Hand Luke, Hombre, Exodus, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Road to Perdition, Butch Cassidy, Colour of Money...
... and replying to my own comment, that is the comment of a person who had not seen From The Terrace, I have to say that while that movie is indifferently scripted and unimaginatively directed on the whole, Newman's performance is absolutely remarkable and infinitely better than the film deserves. It has to enter the list somewhere, but the difficulty is separating the quality of a performance from the quality of the film. The Hustler is a 10/10 film. From The Terrace is perhaps a 6/10 film, but that is because Newman is perfect in it, even when the lines he's saying are trite. His speech in the boardroom at the film's climax is, I believe, Newman's greatest scene ever, and for that reason alone, From the Terrace might come in at number two on my new revised list.
