Larry was a beast. Loved watching his dominant run with Tarkanian's UNLV squad in 90 and 91, the main dude on maybe the most dominant college hoops team of all time. Shame injuries cost him a better run in the pro's, even though he had a lot of success on that level as well.

He was one of the most charismatic players of his era, he really took the Hornets and put them in the map, very dominant until injuries took him out of the game

UNLV till this day is one of my college basketball teams(Houston, Michigan, Georgetown) are my other 3. I lived in Mesquite, TX , then back to SE San Antonio during Larry's early years. So having LJ & Zo on the same team, well for me it was like a dream come true!! Lifetime Rockets & Bulls fan, but I was a closet Hornets & Magic fan. Had clothes and hats from all 4 teams. Much love to LJ, Dallas County, UNLV, and the Hornets for drafting him and Zo back then. Them boys were the Muscle & Hustle squad for me🏀🏀
Johnson was one of the best players ever before his back injury. He was Barkley with speed and possibly more talent. He had a severe injury early, that would have ended most careers, but he was still a great player for years after.

Man, you are bringing me back in time, these were the times when basketball was a game for men ... I loved Grandma, Mason, Oak, Starks, Big 33...it was a different game back then, much more physical, much more aggressive. Now the teams are protecting their multi-million investments and they have turned the game in to table tennis. That is not what is played on the playground!!!

I met him Lonzo and mugsy at the palace of auburn hills in Michigan, my high school used to play games before the pistons. Our bus and charlottes bus pulled in at the same time.when those 3 stand side by side it’s hilarious 😂 one short one tall and one jacked lol

LJ was the man at UNLV, though Augmon, Anthony and Hunt were cool too. He had that strong back to the basket low post Barkley type of power game but Johnson was different - he had a fade with a center part, a gold tooth, long shorts, an untucked jersey, a hesitation free throw wearing the freshest Nikes with that backboard slapping type of hood swagger. They were the stars of college ball then and definitely fun to watch!

I said the same thing, Zo was traded way before he was.
