What a beautiful thing to see. Passion, dedication and a beautiful screamer flying down that track. Props to you you and your team y'all should be so proud
Can't believe how emotional I felt in this video. I wasn't watching, I was there man, in the pits, in the car and at the track. I felt everything. How we all have waited for this moment, massive congratulations!
That was just insane! Sickest rotary I’ve seen! And to see how happy you guys got when the car ran perfectly, makes me happy today! Congrats on the build!
that was amazing that sound with headphones on turned right up to maximum is music i had to keep hearing over and over on repeat "beautiful symphony of sound" well done on the build bro stunning example of a 4 rotar sounds like the 787b, mad mikes quad rotar with that high pitch scream banging on the limiter hehehe awesome
This is one of the greatest projects in a car that I've ever seen. Makes me wanna go to USA just to see and hear this car. Like Magneto said: Perfection. Keep on guys, this is amazing.
Oh my dear lord...this beast sounds heavenly awsome braugh...im happy 4 you mazzei, congratulations!! On your first test having that beauty down the track driven and getting such a positive and satisfying feedback...the looks and feel like if it was made specificaly for the track speeding and hearing that 4 rotor sound from far away,i bet its a dream come true...take care of it,its worth alot of time,$$$,effort, and mind breaking, exelent job who worked on this baby👍😀
Bought my one and only brand new car a '73 RX2 coupe in '74. Kept it for years. I daydreamed on boring watches at sea in '79 about marrying two 12a's together for a four rotor. And here's yours for real. Bravo Zulu. Well done. Love to watch it run!
This is so amazing bro. I feel your excitement. I’m excited just by watching the video. Congrats David and your team. Man thanks to you I think I will never say that I’m done building my RX7 until I get a turbo 4-rotor in it haha 😍🙏🏼
Congratulations on an absolutely amazing build! People don’t know how incredibly smooth the rotary engine is. No parts are changing directions internally, making it feel almost electric, but with power increasing with all kinds of rpm. My 1st car was a 86’ RX-7, I modified a lot. I could only daydream of what your car must feel like.
I had a RX2 in the 70's that was fast for it's time but what you've got in that RX7 is amazing, cant wait to see it perform! Awesome stuff and I thank you for the ability to experience it!👍👍👍
I've been following/involved in "imports" since before it was cool Late 90's when I was a teen, before I had my license or my first car (AE86). I used to watch the Option/Option2 VHS tapes form Japan and one of them had the RE Amemiya RE Super G car, the white FD time attack machine. Anyway, since then I've seen thousands of cars show and race imports come and go but this is hands down one of the SICKEST builds I've ever seen. Honestly... it's hands down one of the sickest street imports ever built. There's no denying it. Congrats again.
Must be so good to see all the hard work, investment in money and time, hours spent troubleshooting, fall into place The car looks beautiful, and sounds amazing, I'm so happy for you guys that it worked out
Hey man, be proud of the fact that the RX is likely one of the most unique, coolest cars owned by an individual to race on that track. Beautiful car, beautiful sounds. A lot of blood, sweat, tears and money have been poured into this car. Thank you for making it possible to watch the journey
whatching this video in 2020 feeling like you are in 2040 whit this car. I love the slow music an couple of captions at the end... man you touch me. i was yelling at home as well!!
Love this car and now even more nice car finally on track love the sound love congrats man nice car no failuer no BS just a nice, safe and incredible car
We need more trackside video of it accelerating out of turn 9!!!! LOVE how the 4-rotor's exhaust pulse harmonics cancel out lower sound frequencies, and amplify the high pitch scream. Reminds me of the days of working at Downing Atlanta and hearing Rick Engman firing up 26Bs regularly.
I think that shows brains. Balls would be thinking you could rip a car like this and not destroy it while having no racing experience. Besides, it’s brand new and hasn’t been tested, who knows what could’ve happened? Best to have a pro behind the wheel to at least get the car more dialed.
My engine builder is a very close friend of mine and I let him drive and dial in everything I have asked him to build for me. Rather have him sort everything out than to take it from him untested and mess up something 👍
he’s not in the wrong for letting someone else put his car to the test. the owner put all the money into building it and wants to see its potential with someone who knows the track..
I am so happy to see this car on the track even though it wasn't in full cry. It sounds and looks amazing! Amazing job by Mazzei Formula! So much love for this FD, I want one so bad!!!
Absolutely in love with this car! The shakedown proved it all brother. The blood, sweat, tears, time & money are all worth it when that baby SCREAMS down a proper track. Well done my friend.
Congrats bro! Felt the crazy vibe in this video. I’ve been following you for a while and I cannot get enough of your car’s performance, style, and sound! Just the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen and heard. I’d take your car over any other damn car. Keep doing you bro! Just stay safe. Beautiful just beautiful god-like car. God bless y’all!
That image at 15:55 is sooooooooo nice omg what a unique, rare and down right amazing car. Thank you for sharing with us. I was actually getting anxious and excited for you before he took it out on the track.
This is what it is all about , screaming down the race track . GREATEST SOUND EVER keep taking this beast to the track as much as you can , loved every second of it .
Awesome car, absolutely mental and congrats....but DEAR GOD, the driver.........NEVER, NEVER STOP on a hot track to essentially 'rubberneck" a crash and "check" on a driver by stopping and giving him a thumbs up.....that's a great way to have someone slam into the back of your car and cause more injuries and wrecked cars...... seriously DUMB MOVE. Amazed no one has brought this up yet. People PLEASE NEVER DO THAT on a race track. It's a waving yellow for gods sake....DONT FUCKING STOP on a active racetrack for a yellow flag.....WTF?!
Pedro Guimaraes, SOC Pedro Guimaraes, SOC I respectfully disagree. So I have pretty high situational awareness while on track. We knew going into this session there was approximately 5 cars on track including me. We had passed two early on maybe lap one. They threw a waving yellow flag and a debris flag at turn 9 meaning something bad had happened right around the bend heading for turn 10. At that point black flags were thrown at every corner worker station. I was so far clear of any other drivers behind me there was no danger in ensuring a fellow driver was ok. Also 10a is such a slow turn and he was at the apex of 10 anyone rounding the turn at 9 had plenty of time to assess the situation and I never stopped I rolled through. List of drivers who stopped on track and saved other drivers: Rico Abreu, Ayrton Senna, David Purley, John Watson the list goes on. Again, I assessed the situation and there was no danger in my decision. In fact, had it been worse and I would have pulled in front of him and parked on the outside of 10b to do whatever I can to assist the driver or at least get safety there more quickly. I do see your point to a degree, but I also stand by my decision.
@@bryan_leonard_racing I respect your on track experience and racing accomplishments but please deep down you know your making excuses for a unsafe track situation you created. You didn't have coms with your pit, If you did I doubt your PIt was listening in on the track feq. did you know for sure how many cars were actually on track? Your a mind reader? Seams to me you had your hands full shaking down a complicated vehicle to be managing track activity and counting cars....... Don't compare your action to Senna/Comas like incidents, no one was on fire, your on track in 2019 not 1970/80's..... and MOST of ALL in a long gone ERA of poor track response, poor medical response and extremely dangerous unsafe vehicle designs that frequently lead to fires where you could actually do something....that era you refer to is long gone, compared to today's much improved safety infrastructure and incident response. Also some of those long European tracks back in the day had track workers far away from incidents and thus horrible response times and so a driver stopping to render aid or at least signal other cars before a blind turn was helpful. In this day an age, a driver getting out of car to response to an serious track incident is retarded at best. My brother is a Firefighter and I have significant first aid and medical training myself, what are you really going to do if he was really hurt? BE REAL. Tell me what good would it do for you to most likely park you car in the way of responding rescue teams and creating another potential track hazard for other cars. You realize the flag station was 50' away from his disabled car right? I'm sure the flagger had already call for help on the radio and was in full control of the situation, this didn't happen in a "blind" area of a track.......you carry a first aid kit in your race car? Oxygen bottle? come on' be real about this........are you even trained in how to asses a patient for neck injuries? Brain injuries? You have training in how to remove the driver without causing him more damage....BE Real.... there was no FIRE, which is the only situation where jumping out and rendering aid MIGHT be of help.....If he was hurt what were you actually going to do? besides wave your arms at the corner worker who is already on the radio and waving his flag. BE REAL.......just admit that was NOT you best moment of Judgement. Don't make excuses. "Oh I saw Senna did it 27 years ago so I'm going to do the same thing" If he did it 27years ago it's ok for me to do the same thing now.....on a track day. Significantly slowing down to a stop on the racing line in a heavy braking area following a fast section is dumb. what if the car that was behind you didn't see the flag before heading down the hill? It's just not smart. Admit it wasn't your best decision, but dont make silly excuses. Most importantly dont do it ever again.
@@m3pedro The reason we knew how many cars were on track wasnt due to mind reading. It was the last session of the day. There was almost no one left at the track. We went to grid with four other cars and waited on our session. I am not comparing this to the names I mentioned. Im just stating what they did. You are right I am not a paramedic, I am not a fire fighter, but I am a racing driver and I can assess situations like that better than most. We carried just as much speed as the miata in front of us through the turn, we never really stopped the car. I see you feel strongly on this and I do respect your explanation. I still stand by my decision, again we were carrying the same speed the miata in front of us was carrying. In fact he was going slower than us! WE caught him. I wont rant anymore we will just agree to disagree, my decision was completely safe, I dont want to take away from the owners accomplishment by hashing this out. I do respect you and your family for being first responders. Cheers
Mind you that the braking point into 10a is well after you're able to see the corner over the crest of the hill. For a driver to cause an incident in that situation would entirely be the driver's fault for not braking early into the zone after seeing the crash.
Wow congratulations man. I wouldn’t know the incredible feeling it would have felt having built this masterpiece for years and have a successful track day for its for time, good work!
Congratulations to you and all of your peeps. That car is INSANE and I love all cars but that things is outstanding. Best of luck in all your future endeavors and please post more vids.
Been following for I don't even know how long and this video was well worth the wait bro. Keep killing it and look forward to seeing future videos like this one!!!
Amazing build. I miss my RX7 3RD GEN SOOOO MUCH! I had it built by Cameron worth who owns Pettit racing in Fort Lauderdale FL. I would help him back when he would run The 24hr of Daytona traveled to Watkins glen back in the good ole days. He had built a 3 rotor but nothing like this build. I'm sure being a rotary enthusiast you should know of him. Great guy unfortunately I just had to let her go because at the time life school and going through 3mm steel apex seals became too much. I still have dreams about my black 94 base model RX7 THOUGH. LOVE THE VIDEO BRINGS BACK SO MANY AWESOME MEMORIES.
Hell yea brother! Got to see the Monster in action. Thank you for sharing this epic moment with us. Brah you looked super stoked to get that positive feedback from your pro driver bud. Smiles ear to ear haha. Solid build and can't wait for more track days. Doritos for life!
First time i hear masda rx7 with 4 rotor engine is on mad mike drift car...and now i hear again in race car...that sound is realy beautiful...it is my dream car ... And you guys creating the devil ..in the same time creating the angel....standing aplous for you guys...
There is nothing on this planet that you can drive that will give you the feeling like a turbo rotary. You gave the keys to your mate and you have just ruined his life!! Won’t be long before the rotary addiction starts!
Been following this car build for some time. That end was just amazing seeing you guys all come together and the excitement. I love this damn car. One day Id love to build something cool again and actually get it on the track like this ! Congrats !
Finally someone with a 4 rotor who will actually let the car talk and not explain for 20 min how rich the owner is and how he thinks he’s a modern day Einstein... *coughs* Rob Dahm
I first saw you and this awesome build on hoonigans garage!! So awesome to see it on the track and your experience!! Right on brother!! Keep shooting straight!!
Unbelievable you did an incredible job building this car i think that it must be the smoothest ride on the track from my viewpoint most race cars with that much power sacrifice stability and comfort but somehow this thing is absolutley non violent not even the rear view mirror vibrated at low or high rpms very envious and happy for you
Can se true happiness on your face, happiness that comes from hard work. Congratulations guys, these are moments that make u feel alive, and I happy with u
Congrats a 1,000 congratulations. When at the start you said something like "it's not yet done to my standards, but comes a time to get on the track"....I thought "that attitude is why his RX7 is so amazing".
So glad this isn’t some SEMA Show car. The world can’t thank you enough for actually using this beautiful machine for its true purpose. Forever thankful.
Dalton Cope actually it’s both lol
Lmao it literally was one of the nicest cars at sema 2018 so it kinda is some sema show car lol

I think he means that hes glad that its not just a showroom queen and can actually race, and does actually race and get driven.
fax!!
At 12:08 He goes to change gear, then realises he's driving a rotary.

Definitely a car that's rated by Smiles Per Gallon
Then smiles and awe are the best fuel to street racing at midnight

10:54 that star wars tie fighter scream : D

They seem to be on rather amicable terms, so I would not rule out a duo at some point

Those thumbs down likes must be ls swaps. Been following since near the beginning and hands down the most awesome rotary build.
I've been screwing around with RX7'$ for about 20 years and you car is just perfect. Beautifully done. Best of luck
Wow congratulations man. I wouldn’t know the incredible feeling it would have felt having built this masterpiece for years and have a successful track day for its for time, good work!
If I had the time, money and knowledge this would be a dream swap to have in a car. Car sounds amazing.

Why swap? Rx7 platform is best for these motors
@@jdmpwr4283 I'm big on swapping motor into different type of cars. So I would put it into a different body.

The real life Dominic toretto
More like Dominic Dorito.
Toretto drives only muscle cars
@@meika6927 He drove an RX-7 in the first movie
Ultimate expression of a FD props for taking it out on the track where it belongs.
Hell yea brother! Got to see the Monster in action. Thank you for sharing this epic moment with us. Brah you looked super stoked to get that positive feedback from your pro driver bud. Smiles ear to ear haha. Solid build and can't wait for more track days. Doritos for life!

There is nothing on this planet that you can drive that will give you the feeling like a turbo rotary.
You gave the keys to your mate and you have just ruined his life!! Won’t be long before the rotary addiction starts!
I'm a evo owner and always find myself watching these crazy rotary builds ...you just can't beat that endless rpm
Chills on every shift & it's turned down to only 800hp!!😅😍
PLASMAKVA500 ‘only’ LoL
Not to mention they weren't revving it all the way to redline
Kory Helm not really them gears are long on rotary
Been following this car build for some time. That end was just amazing seeing you guys all come together and the excitement. I love this damn car. One day Id love to build something cool again and actually get it on the track like this ! Congrats !
Damn that was sick, I remember reading this build thread on rx7 forum. You've been on the grind and the car came out perfect...sounds amazing.
Finally someone with a 4 rotor who will actually let the car talk and not explain for 20 min how rich the owner is and how he thinks he’s a modern day Einstein... *coughs* Rob Dahm
Hahha thank you for expressing my feelings
man biuld the car out pure passion and sheer will.

Hey you know if you just got done racing that badass around a track, I think your vocabulary would be diminished to a few words too.
That white FD is beautiful too. Thanks for the video its great to see this thing on a track where its meant to be!
Congrats a 1,000 congratulations. When at the start you said something like "it's not yet done to my standards, but comes a time to get on the track"....I thought "that attitude is why his RX7 is so amazing".
