Last weekend I went to Reisbrennen 2023 at Lausitzring (Germany), a 3-day Car Show for Japanese Cars. This video contains the highlights of the drag race session at the end of day 2. I really enjoyed the event, so much better than Japanese events in The Netherlands. Only great builds, professional drift competition and rare jdm gems! The highlights of the drift sessions will follow soon!

Almost perfect. How did Japan get things so visually right with their cars in the 90s then so wrong afterwards? The Mk 4 Supra might be the most perfectly proportioned car ever made, the RX-7 FD is sublime, the Skyline is chunkily cool, the S2000 is cute as a button, the S14 and S15 are endlessly good looking, even Chaser and Soarers have a boxy elegance. Even the NS-X had a kind of cool look.
Then they're followed up by beasts like the Mk 5 Supra, the R35, the horrible 2023 Celica, the RX-8, the goog looking but still boring new NS-X...I struggle to think of any JDM cars from the new century that have anything like the beauty of their 90s counterparts. The Mk 5 Supra and the R35 especially are such travesties visually speaking.

1 thing that's a bit dangerous at that dragrace is that the left lane is still banking from the turn before it.
Thats pretty dangerous to launch your car there, it could spin to the side pretty violently...

Usually those Mk3's have a red reflector like strip above the license plate which connects the tail lights. This car seems to have two separate rear lights, so I thought it might be a late 80's Celica. I think you're right by saying it's a Mk3.

This was so cool to watch! I immediately clicked on this! I wish they were at an actual prepped strip or had a better drag tree setup cause there was such an amazing variety of cars! I feel like the cars would have better odds against eachother and we would know who won each race (some are more obvious than others) but that’s just the drag racer in me I know not all of these guys are drag people and that’s okay, props to them for taking their cars out and ripping anyways👌🏼 beggars can’t be choosers I’m just some guy watching this in my room lol no negativity whatsoever
