Poor Adam Driver was totally wasted in this pathetic excuse of a trilogy.
Ben Solo having schizophrenic voices (and multiple of them) put into his head by Palpatine since the day he was born was a truly sinister and pure evil thing done by Palpatine, that would have worked as a brilliant plot twist if it was executed properly. In this way, Ben never had a chance, he was doomed from the very start, living in a never-ending schizophrenic nightmare with those voices in his head, driven into insanity, and this is truly tragic and cruel.

The downside to SW9 reintegration of Palpatine is that Anakin is no longer the chosen one, but it's now Rey who brings balance to the force after killing the last sith, Palpatine. imo they should've kept Kylo Ren as the great overarching evil. Disney listened too hard to fans and desperately tried to appeal to all fanbases of star wars: the sequel fans who memed the shit out of Prequels (Palpatine) and the reylo stans. And it's fcking funny that they ended up appealing to nobody in the end. albeit a story where Ben Solo lives would've been hard to put together ngl (how would he earn his redemption long term?)
Indeed. Cut Snoke out and keep Palpatine in the background and I wouldn't have any issues with some of the plot points in Rise of Skywalker. But given the fact that Abrams just basically turned the table over and contradicted the previous film and his own first entry into this trilogy he should have just played the hand he was dealt instead of executing this jarring plot point out of nowhere.
@@elpenguinoofmexico1388 I wouldn't say that Anakin is "no longer the Chosen One". The prophecy said he would destroy the Sith and he did. He defeated Palpatine and set him up for his ultimate destruction. Without Anakin's sacrifice, Rey would never have existed. So his actions were fulfilled in Rey. But I do agree with your other points.
So much wasted potential… Opening with Mustafar was an awesome concept, but they didn’t even show it is Mustafar nor Vader's castle, and there were a ton of scenes that got cut. The 'I have been every voice you have ever heard inside your head' reveal would have been awesome, as Palpatine targeting a Skywalker offspring and putting schizophrenic voices in his hand since birth is an amazingly dark and cruel idea, and adds a deep layer of tragedy to the story - manipulating someone from the day he was born by putting many voices in his head nonstop and drive him insane is awesomely sinister and pure evil. Exogol also looks great as a Star Wars depiction of Hell/Underworld, the old Sith statues looked awesome like the Valley of death in mythology, yet the entire sequence was very brief and clearly heavily edited (again). Ian McDiarmird as Palpatine is always a delight to see, yet the twist has no build up nor clear planning before hand.

Well the main thing here is theres a big difference when George Lucas is writing the story than disney writing the story. Pretty sure if George Lucas even wrote 50% of a movie it would have been way better than the shit show of what we got

I really think it was meant to be a different planet at first but they decided last minute to make it Mustafar because they thought maybe scoring some nostalgia and fanservice points could help salvage this disaster of a movie and half assedly connect the saga. I mean if it really was meant to be Mustafar surely they could've made the planet look a lot more recognisable. It's Star Wars ffs, single biome planets. Mustafar is a dark hellish barren volcano world flowing with lava and mining facilities. None of that here.

Two of the few good things of the film: the sound effects (echoes), and the soundtrack.
That scene was chilling.
Such a cool concept to have Ben Solo having schizophrenic voices in his head since he was born, and makes his character more tragic. He was haunted by these different voices in his head growing up manipulated by Palpatine all this time, that’s enough to drive anyone crazy.

Kylo easily found Exegol by using some MacGuffin to get there, while Vader found it by riding a space Leviathan.
That's why Darth Vader is so much cooler than Kylo Ren.

That's all Kylo Ren did in the movie...make angry faces and point his lightsaber at people. George had Darth Maul as the villian in his version.
I hate the fact that they called it a Wayfinder….should of been called a Holocron.
Best thing to come out of this Mustafar sequence/the movie was Eye of Webbish Bog and of course they cut that from the movie. That thing was creepy but cool and would have made a better overarching Dark Side villain than Snoke or the Palpatine clone
I will admit (read to the end, please), Star Wars under Disney isn't and will never be perfect. But Star Wars is NOT dead in any way. And if that's what you truly believe, then stop giving Disney your money to watch new content they put out if you already know you're gonna hate it. Makes no sense sticking around if you claim this franchise has been destroyed. Because I promise you, it's not. There are still very passionate fans that enjoy recent content. Again, new stuff may not be perfect, and they have their flaws, but in the end, it's the toxic fans that are killing this franchise, not just KK and her feminism. It's their choice to focus on the bad that Disney has done and completely ignored the good. Without Disney, I don't think we would have the same Rebels, Clone Wars S7, Bad Batch, Andor, Rogue One, and other loved projects we have today. Why not be grateful for the good? I don't think I can click on a single Star Wars video without some toxic "fan" having a fit in the comments about how Disney killed Star Wars with their laughing crying emojis at the end of their comment. It's stupid in my opinion. I for one am enjoying new content and look forward to what's to come. Like the new movies and shows. Anyway, I know the only people who took the time to read this are the true fans that appreciate Star Wars still. And if you are one of those toxic fans that believes Star Wars is dead, I'll say it again. Leave. Leave the fandom behind. Watch something else. Because all you're doing is what you believe has already happened. Killing Star Wars.
And if Star Wars does die in the future, then so be it. Because I know I'll still love it forever.

I totally agree with you, Disney has its botches in Star Wars such as the Sequels, but it has also given us gems Rogue One, live-action series like The Mandalorian or Andor, or animated series like Bad Batch or Tales of the Jedi, not to forget how incredible the last season of Clone Wars was, especially its ending. In short, Disney has had its bumps in Star Wars, but it has managed to get back on track, I hope it continues like this. For my part, I hope that Star Wars leaves an important mark on history when the saga comes to an end.
Star Wars is dead because it doesn't matter what happens now. We know it all leads to the pathetic excuses for Luke, Han, and Leia character decline. The ones who ignited the passion for Star Wars in the first place completely thrown in the trash.
Problem is that Disney can do better. Not everything that came from Disney is bad. We have some great comics and books, Mandalorian was great for two seasons. But Disney can do better. Like why doesn't the shows have a cinematic quality? Why they feel so cheap? Criticize for the sake of it like what happened with Ashoka which was mediocre, but some people acted as the worst thing ever is not the way to go. But blindly defend it, which a lot of people have done to, is not the way to go either. There is still life in Star Wars, but Disney and Lucasfilm have to do better.

As much as I don't really like this movie, I will openly conceded that this opening was great. Especially on the big screen. The sound design on Exegol and the reverb of Palpatine's voice was next-level in the theatres, let me tell you 😊

Tbh why was a wayfinder required when there would be many other paths that likely didn't require going through that red nebula. Plus, how would did lando and that armada arrive to exegol?
What if that red nebula was the Hyperspace Disturbance that separated the Unknown Regions from the rest of the Star Wars Galaxy? Like the Galactic Barrier at the outer edge of the Milky Way Galaxy in Star Trek?

@@ANTHONYLASKIOFFICIAL The plot makes no sense, the dialogue is bad by even Star Wars' standards, the characters are inconsistent, the direction is uninspired, the stakes are irrelevant, Rey is still a ridiculous, unbelievable, unlikable character who has victory spoon fed to her until the Emperor decides to do something for once in the move, only for her to immediately after go "I'm all the Jedi" and then kill Sidious with his own lightning which surely he could stop shooting. The Empire's "return" is so brief it can barley be said it happened at all, Hux's character is so poorly written they just went "what the hell, he's a spy", having him literally say that, 3PO says that he'll never get his memories back only for the plot to say "oh no no no, he was backed up in R2D2 the whole time". Terrible is too kind and gentle a word to describe this movie, not least of which because it ruins Anakin's character by making Rey the chosen one and his entire motive for betraying the Jedi something an untrained, uneducated, vagabond girl can solve by force healing a snake and the main villain. It's ludicrous to the point of hilarity, with this one scene looking cool and actually holding any semblance of interest for a great deal of viewers

By the way do you know why Rey chose Skywalker and not Palpatine? To honor the people she truly considers family. Yes, this is stupid from the writters side, but thank Luke and Leia for showing up and allowing her to be called Skywalker. If they hadn't shown up and Rey had chosen the surname Palpatine, many people would feel bad about her. Moreover, it honors the Skywalker legacy, because after Ben's death, the Skywalker family is no more. This is why Rey chose the surname Skywalker after Luke and Leia.
As for the fact that Rey put the lightsabers in the possession of Luke (thr lightsaber previously belonged to Anakin) and Leia, not only did she decide to create lightsabers, but also because Luke and Leia did not exist.
And considering the fact that Rey able to obtain the ability without training (no, she once did training, but she did not complete everything), unlike Luke and Anakin, then she simply listens to these Jedi spirits who tell her.
Not only was this movie bad, it was so freaking boring. The whole story revolves around finding a holocron to navigate through a nebula when the maelstrom in solo was more dangerous. After seeing the last jedi, I had no hope for the ninth movie, but I came to see it thinking it would do something. I thought the story would revolve around how the first order was created, which would then lead to Palpatine. Even though bringing him back was a horrible idea, it was still better than how the movie actually played out🤦♂️

The Executives of Lucasfilm made a terrible plot by making another insignificant planet as a plot device. Instead naming it exegol, if i were the story teller at Lucasfilm, they should have named it as Dromund Kaas in a plot twist in order to tie it in for the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic.
So much potential wasted.

Having Rey be a Palpatine and then calling herself a Skywalker, Luke being just a cameo, Palpatine coming back for no reason only to die easily and Ben forgiving himself by imagining talking to Han were a bunch of stupid things along a few others that happened in this movie, but at least the first and second act are more enjoyable than all of The Last Jedi. Still a dumb movie, though.

It’s a great movie. Rey did what no Jedi ever done. She finally killed The Emperor and Sith is no more. The Resistance and The Rebel Alliance finally destroyed The Empire and The First Order. And now the galaxy 🌌 is finally in peace.

Anakin, The Chosen One was the first to destroy Palpatine and the Sith. That's why this movie sucks, Rey stole Anakin's most important act. And now she is going to steal Luke's... Rebuilding the Jedi Order
