in a lot of instances, it's easier if you flip the blade upside down to get a better angle and keep it from vibrating so much by giving the saws heal a better place to rest
You are correct, sawzall. They are also called recipricating saws though people use the terms interchangably.
You should lift the boards slightly with a wide blade bolster and use a 9" multi purpose Bosch blade on the saw. It will cut through those nails in seconds.
Put the pallet on end and lift all the boards first then run the saw along. Then flip it over and do the other end leaving the middle ones to last. Once all the ends are done, start on the middle ones. Do them one at a time so once the board is removed it leaves room to get to the next one.
I've been doing it like that for 2 years now and I can completely dismantle a pallet in 12 minutes

would this method not leave half nails in both sides of the wood?
Cool but now you have to get the nails out . Even though I think everyone needs a "Saws All" a cheaper in vestment for dismantling pallets is a pallet bar works like a big pry bar but is about 3.5 feet long makes fast work and pulls the nails at the same time .

Great idea to take these apart - but this footage is clearly sped up to make it look faster than it actually is!
Rather by the pallet pal than the saw.
worked perfectly then nail removal was easy
