    My DD15 has been deleted for 4 years and haven’t had any issues at all but haven’t it deleted was a life saver because my truck was in the shop every dam month so I deleted it and haven’t had no problems at all .We don’t really know what’s causes the problems by deleting your truck.

      Exactly. A buddy of mine had his DD15 deleted and man he is happy. Earlier his truck was in shop for DPF issues.
      A good tech who knows what he is doing will do the delete properly and you will have a good time afterwards

      Its only a matter of time those new engines need that exhaust to cool down the power stroke in the head my valves stopped sealing and cylinder 5 was just dumping fuel out the stacks

      I have had mine deleted for 3 years now and no problems. Except in the intitial delete the def pump kept running and drew away from my power, after they fixed that it acts like a normal motor. I also would not say that it has extra power but I only drove it from purchase to my shop to delete bobtail. I don't know how Adam can say it was 100 percent the delete that caused that, I have seen older motors that did not have electronic computers running everything drop valves. In my opinion, you have to have a good shop to do the delete that knows what they are doing. And there will not be much difference. I know some of the trucks they deleted that were International's that went to California and still passed the sniff tester at the scale houses.

    The delete isn't the problem, it's the re-map/tune that's the problem, I would argue a proper delete increases the life of diesel engines,some of the soot build up in the oil is quite shocking on some of these modern engines,just as well put grinding paste in the oil,engineers have spent decades trying to get as much clean cool air into the combustion chamber,today they are shoving exhaust gasses back in

    As far as Cummins go ISX and X15 deletes are the way to go 🤷🏽‍♂️ every single one I've came a gross that's delete and also has had the egr completely removed never have problems maybe detroits are different but there is a reason all the 14ls and 12.7s pre emission engines never had issues

    • @MJusten7657
      @MJusten7657 Před 9 měsíci

      ISX engines handle deletes real well because of the aftermarket industry offering full tilt manifolds, aftermarket turbos, cam swap options etc. the DD platform doesn’t have a aftermarket industry. You can’t get aftermarket manifolds to cool the egt, you can’t get aftermarket turbos unless you delete the vpod and get a aftermarket manifold which isn’t available and the fact the DD platform builds heat so stupid fast you’ll need to swap cams and pistons to make it worth it.

    So if what you're saying is true, then before after treatment systems years ago, all those engines were doomed because they didn't have after treatment scr,Def, etc , so all the engines cat,series 60 Volvo, Cummins that went 1 million miles could have probably went 2, 3 million if they would have had epa exhaust run back through the egr/engine etc did I hear that right , Adam you know the problem was a non professional tune you can't believe the engines of the government are better 🤔

  • @Khmtravelvlog
    @Khmtravelvlog Před 10 měsíci +5

    I think this is more related to bad tuning and removing the egr completely which isn't a good idea you need that extra coolant flow and sensors. The early model trucks had so many issues with def, newer ones are better and don't break down as much.

    • @larryhutchinson4271

      I think you hit the nail on the head. I did not realize until months later that my shop did not delete the EGR, they were told that it could not be done. But they charged me for the full delete and that kind of "ticked" me off. Now I am happy that it did not get deleted because I am 3 yrs into it and motor is running great. I have been pulling some loads at 42k besides my 32k empty weight with 100 plus degree days and motor stays around 200 degrees without the fan kicking on. We have a very tall bridge and once in a while the fan kicks in climbing it with heavy load.

      Adam saying this is like saying that everyone that eats peanut butter dies. Because the real truth is that we all die eventually and the peanut butter did not necessarily contribute to the death. If you paid a shade tree shop to delete your truck and they didn't know what they were doing you might end up like this truck and it could have possibly been the delete. But not all deletes will end up like this truck, especially if you only delete the DEF system and not the EGR which helps keep the motor running cooler.

    In my opinion this is just like DOT saying you cannot operate a commercial motor vehicle safely without the antilock brake system functioning 100 percent correctly. If this is the case what happened before antilock brake systems, yes it might stop a few wrecks or jackknifes, but tell me you don't still see trucks jackknifed in the median still today. The antilock brake system has nothing to do with if your truck will stop or not, you push the brake pedal and if your brakes are adjusted properly you stop. All the antilock system does is stop you from skidding and in my opinion gives you a longer stopping distance. However back on topic. What did these motors do before all the pollution control crap was put on them? If you eliminate the DEF system but keep the EGR system your not really changing the performance of the motor. Adam did mention something about turning up the horsepower, did this truck get turned up with his delete? Could that have been the cause of the valve malfunction and not the actual delete?

    • @John5ive
      @John5ive Před 10 měsíci

      people paid attention when they drove. we have trucks setting codes because of "excessive automatic braking" drivers must be tailgating and letting the truck operate the brakes. too lazy to move their foot from one pedal other

  • @bz4shez
    @bz4shez Před 5 měsíci

    DD platforms do not handle deletes at all. The exhaust gases are used in combination with the air fuel ratio. Playing with the injection timing and such is really a bad idea. I had a 2017 DD 15 that had a minor after treatment problem, but other than that the truck was running great, I chose to delete it, and everything went downhill from there, and could never get the programming, correct. stay away from deletes and just maintenance the after treatment system

    Engines have been running without egrs or DPF system since they were built. Also deleting the emmissions off of an engine will not damage a valve. and just deleting the system does not increase the amount of fuel that is injected, tuneing does that this is a tuning problem MAYBE, and has nothing to do with the delete. here is the funny thing iv seen valves do similar things in engines that never had emmisions on them in the first place. valve spring and sticking rockers can do this damage excesive heat from a leaking injecter can contribute. Just deleting the system stops soot from going into the intake soot in an apprasive which has already been proven and damage the cylinder and reduces effectiveness of oil. deleting the DPF will alow the exaust to breathe better in turn you get more HP. By letting breath better reduses EGT, EGTS are main failure of and engine if not controlled guess what to much back pressure will cause an incresse in EGT oops i said that out loud. Anther funny thing is i dont see any sign in the video of excessive heat, If my memory serves me right kenworth ran the ISX15 they added the emissions to it to meet FED REGS by doing this in cause the ISX to be unreliable after that. they had to use a differnt engine to handle the emission BS. Personally i think your paid to say this.
