Dynamics Problem: Particle Kinetics - Radial & Transverse Components - Problem2

Similar to the last problem except that we don't initially know the angle of the velocity and acceleration so we can't take advantage of it.

When you are doing sum of the force in Θ direction (

The problem question says the rod is "horizontal". This makes me think the rod is laid flat on the ground, meaning gravity wouldn't contribute to the equations.

I got the answers but they were switched. I assumed right side to be positive for transverse direction
