  • In this video we take a tour of our small woodworking shop as well as show you our layout. It's a two car garage that is approximately 20x22 foot space. While the layout has changed periodically, this one has stayed the same for awhile. We also go through our very modest collection of woodworking tools. If you have a small shop and limited resources, hopefully you'll be encouraged by what we accomplish with our setup. If you have any ideas for how we can better utilize the space, let us know in the comments!

    Might have to look into that Bosch miter saw, we have a Kobalt sliding compound, great saw, but it does take up a ton of room in out small garage.

      @DebtFreeDIY  Před 2 lety +1

      That's definitely a benefit of the Bosch! I've been hearing good things about the Makita as well. It has a traditional rail but is more like the Festool Kapex design.

    Fell a bit short on your “things like that counter” I counted 10. Love the shop! I used old fence panels in my last house to make an accent wall. We loved it.

    Hi. Enjoyed your shop tour. Good to see a use what you've got to fit it out shop. No overkill with spit and polish. How's does the Bosch chop saw perform on repeatability with the mechanical arm linkage mechanism. Cheers Tony

    • @DebtFreeDIY
      @DebtFreeDIY  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Tony! I honestly have no issues with repeatability. It stays very true. Another big con I forgot to mention about that saw though is it doesn't have a laser or shadow light. Just FYI

    • @tonyworkswood
      @tonyworkswood Před 2 lety

      @@DebtFreeDIY Hi I'm not bothered about either of those as a lot are just gimmicks. It's mainly about the rigidity of the arm when extended out. Thanks Tony

    Thanks for the video. What lights do you use? Color temp 4000?

    • @DebtFreeDIY
      @DebtFreeDIY  Před rokem +1

      Hi! So the lights in our shop are 6500k Barrina LEDS. They're dirt cheap. Like 45 bucks for 6. They're linkable but honestly not the most reliable. I've been through 3 sets in 4 or 5 years. That being said their customer service has been good and they either reimburse me or send me replacements.

      Thanks for the kind words! While I do appreciate a lot of the shops out there on CZcams, I do think sometimes it's refreshing to know it's OK to have a simpler, modest shop. Everybody's in different phases of life! 😊
