    The Orient Bambino is another watch to look at around the $100 mark. They’ve got multiple dial styles and colors so you can probably find something you like.
    Kent Wang is a good resource for basic ties. They’ve got made in Italy grenadine ties for $75. I used to shop at the Tie Bar but like you, found they weren’t great quality. I’d rather have one great tie from Drakes or Kent Wang than multiple low quality ties from the Tie Bar.

    Hi Brian! I was wondering, do you think you'll ever do a video on fabrics? For example, it's tough for me to recognize good linen. Or how perhaps to maintain your wardrobe, like (suede) chelsea boots or wool items. Maybe even mention fabrics and compositions that you'd try to avoid. Or specific items you like to have in a specific fabric, for example a wool turtleneck. Not only do you look put together, it all looks so brand new as well. Just a thought. Thanks for all the great work!

    Great tips! Just to another tip for everyone who wants to step up their style game... Buy at the end of the season! Drake's has massively reduced prices twice a year! Most luxury brands do! That's how i added very high quality to my wardrobe, at a fraction of the original price. As a Swiss I have to say that it's worth saving up money for a good watch that is timeless and really fits your personality. I pretty much only wear my Omega Speedmaster (Moonwatch) every day to every occasion. It's such a timeless and versatile watch that can master any situation by changing the strap! Plus it's a watch that will last for a lifetime and beyond (my boy will one day inherit it from me).... Just my five cents! Thanks again, great content as always.

    Great video Brian! If I may add one slower to implement advice, is to take notice of the fabric/leather you are buying. Synthetic material doesn't necessarily mean it is bad, but they have different properties which may or may not be desirable!
    For point #3... As a more conservative person, coming from a more conservative culture, I was always amazed by the audacity some people had to wear university emblazoned clothing outside of sports events/campus, especially those who attended very prestigious schools. I remember when juniors in my major petitioned making a department + university varsity jacket, a lot of seniors were upset. Nowadays they're a lot more accepted, but it still doesn't sit well with me 100%. Ah well, just an off-on-a-tangent rant.- Han

    Thoughtful advice forthóse entering the Job Market. While upgrading is well covered, regular maintenance of items that you recommend, such as merino jumpers and silk ties is not always known and just sending thém to the Dry Cleaners is not always the best way to get the most value from expensive items. Phil.

  • @YoniBonzi
    @YoniBonzi Před 4 lety +8

    This outfit is awesome, I really like that tie. And speaking of ties - you've mentioned BB and Nordstrom for ties - those are whole different price ranges. Is there any noticeable difference in quality between the two?
    As for a watch, I'd also emphasize that a watch is as much an outfit choice as your clothes. As much as the right watch could elevate your look, the wrong one could hurt it. As an extreme example, wearing a golden JLC Master Ultra Thin dress watch with a swimsuit might look a bit odd, same as wearing a Rolex Deep Sea with a tuxedo would look odd. It's a whole world of self expression and even if you don't want to spend thousands of dollars on watches, I'd at least keep 2-3 different styles for different occasions (although I'm a watch nerd, admittedly).
    I'd also add that for both shirts and sweaters (and suits and pants, but you've mentioned that) - make sure they fit you. A clean T-shirt with a great fit might look way better than a good button-up shirt that's 2 sizes above/below your size. Fit might be the most important aspect in a good look, IMHO.
    As always - great video. I really like that style, as Ali said - calm, classy, no yelling or extravagant gestures. Simple, elegant.
    Cheers.

    • @hespokestyle
      @hespokestyle  Před 4 lety

      I have several BB ties and have never been disappointed in the quality. I only have a couple from Nordstrom, but again, the quality is very good. Pricewise those two are pretty much equal, I think.

      Some of the best options for ties are on eBay. For just a few bucks you can buy amazing quality ties, but it does require some time and research to make sure you're not getting something fake. Among the many brands out there, I can highly recommend Mountain and Sackett. Made in USA, the quality is high, and the prices quite low.

Also, the leather minimal sneaker was a big upgrade for me too. Great video, can you put one together for the folks who are working from home and don't want to wear sweats?

      @hespokestyle  Před 4 lety +1

      I've thought about it, but I kind of prefer not to remind folks that we are stuck at home. While it's reality, sure, it's not the most positive message. As for what to wear, it really depends on you! I have been thinking about telling a story about how I dealt with the pandemic in terms of style but also just life in general.

    First off, love the new intro!!!! Second, I really like the denim shirt as well as the sweater suggestion. My question though, i work in a super casual environment in the Southern California Mojave Desert. In the summer our days are almost always over 100 degrees. Do you have suggestion on how to layer in heat like that? I love to layer as it makes a big difference, but I get so hot.

    • @phillipmoodie9071
      @phillipmoodie9071 Před 4 lety +1

      @Jeff Dunagan. I live on the edge of a desert that technically is as arid as the Sahara and just as hot, that effectively stretches from my back door to the coast of Western Australia, about 3,000 miles due West. And I would like to ask the same question. I find that genuine Irish Linen shirts, along with unlined sports coats made in Italy from pure linen are both very comfortable to wear, because they "breathe" better than cotton.
      But you have to learn to live with the creases. Phil.

    Great videos coming from a new subscriber. My question is about pairing ties with shirts. You had a striped shirt with a striped tie. Looks great but I thought it's a no no. How do I know when striped tie/shirt combo works?

    I guess this depends on your industry and in general what you enjoy (for instance you won't wear a sweat shirt to court as a lawyer, or realistically a suit for a big music festival). Even if music or anything creative never pans out for me, I'd personally never work somewhere where a suit & tie is mandatory. Maybe I'd wear a suit jacket that fits my style, but yeah. Casual for me
