"carbon monoxide" is an extremely good guess. either an accident (bad ventilation with some sort of equipment), or on purpose (self-administered).

It looks like such a calm peaceful neighborhood The California vibe can be so deceptive! On the one hand you have all this pristine beauty But what lurks under the surface seems to tell another Tale Not being from the Bay area 🏙️ but having visited it often as well as other parts of the state I used to think this weird dissonance was just part of the price you paid to be in the most advanced area of the Nation You know like if someone were interviewed about it in the 80's or 90's they'd be dressed in Neon Athleisure wear with wrap around sunglasses to hide their eyes 👀 and they'd speak in laconic tones I used to call it Fast Paced casual-like yeah no this is just what like goes on here! I find it horrifying and my prayers are with the family involved! A guy I grew up with raised his Family in San Mateo It just makes no sense! But it seems like it's everywhere now and we can't become inurred to it! Very unsettling indeed!
