The steller type is not actually a type. It is only called "type" by name. But it does not behave like an actual type mechanically. It is a temporary power-up like a Z move, not a type.
Considering the whole theme of the indigo disk dlc, I'm almost certain that is exactly the inspiration for the stellar type, and now that the connection has made it makes alot more sense to me
It's as if the type gems were actually small tera shards that were scattered across Unova. That's why they could only boost the moves one time, because you literally need 50 tera shards to change your Pokemon into a specific tera type. Hmm, i think we just discover some easter eggs here.
I feel like another group of Pokemon that the Stellar type works well with are pokemon that already have a great defensive type and also have a lot of type coverage options to take advantage of. Archaludon is the first example that comes to my mind. Steel/Dragon is great defensively, and has a signature electric move it could appreciate the extra boost on.
Feel like a way to buff the Stellar Type to make it more useful to use on more Pokemon but not Legend Plate Arceus broken would be either upon losing the x2 Tera Boost, you're able to switch out and come back in to bring back the x2 Tera Boost or boost the power of the Tera Boost from x2 to x3 to make it a valuable reason to lose the boost after one move. But if it should be buffed more defensively, much like how the Stellar Type deals neutral damage to every normal type, you also are hit for neutral damage which can be both an upside and a downside depending what Pokemon you use.
I love using it on my Ditto coz I couldn't think of a better tera type for it but sadly there's a bug where Ditto won't use impostor or transform anymore if I switch it in when it already has the stellar tera type.
Stellar type Defensively it doesnt do shit. Removing your 1 type and getting an additional STAB boost like Fairy Terra Fluttermane is a good way to play both offense and defense as you lose your Ghost type weaknesses while getting a fairy boost. Alternatively, you can Fairy type Terra a Bloodmoon to get a STAB Moonblast for coverage and suddenly, instead of being weak to fighting, you will resist it. Stellar type not changing your type is kinda.....meh...I mean, offensively it isnt useless but defensively... nah....pass.
I'm actually more satisfied that a type that got locked into the DLCs didn't ended up overshadowing all other tera types at all. Being a decent utility tera type that is extremely good on some pokemon but worse for others is the perfect place i want Stellar to be.
My prediction for the video is that your going to say it’s bad from what I’ve seen from the thumbnail 0:41 but it’s currently being judged by it’s defensive abilities stellar Pokémon can that are bulky can easily wall out Pokémon like a Tera flutter mane and swing the game back in your by preventing ko’s
My opinion is that It was Made to be the Most Mid option. Gamefreak looked at everything and made something that cant be resisted nor does super effective (Unless terraziled). Its just mid
It's mid. Contrary Pokemon thrive from it. Tera Raid pokemon thrive from it. VGC and Singles don't really need it for 90% of the mons. It's genuinely mid. Nothing else. Also btw Terablast becomes base 100 power if you tera Steller.

I’m not the only one who notices Stellar’s similarity to Gen 5’s gems right? It’s like if you could hold 4 different ones at once + a bonus item.

Itd be funny if they updated the tera shards to be held items that were functionally the same as gen 5 gems
“It’s not” video ends right there
Thanks!

How are you also into VGC. I swear I see you everywhere
They made it the way it is because they didn’t want to replace any typing in competitive sense it just a thing that could be used
They could've made it what it's like in raids and have the boost be permanent instead of one time.
Terapagos is the only Pokemon that can really use it well cause it is the only one that can keep the boost of the attacks
Any contrary pokemon uses it exstremly well.
I love using it on my Ditto coz I couldn't think of a better tera type for it but sadly there's a bug where Ditto won't use impostor or transform anymore if I switch it in when it already has the stellar tera type.
ur explanation of stellar tera is super clear and understandable, nice work!

Contrary
@@Oreca2005there is literally only one good contrary Pokemon. Contrary is not a problem

I thought Miraidon was going to be the New Mega Rayquaza or Zacian but Terapagos looks like it would be even more broken
Not at all
@@ElSora-ws8zf its singature move does neutral spread damage to everything
@@ElSora-ws8zf Being able to deal consistent neutral damage with no resists is more helpful thatn you might imagine
Wish the Tera was just everything for neutral damage
I think it could be useful on trick room sweepers
do a how strong is cinderace vid
So another comment said in an another video
It’s straight up almighty damage from smt / persona
Oh shit you’re right! Tera Starstorm is literally Megidolaon
I'd say Iron Valiant might be a good stellar Tera user
I've been using stellar life orb mixed attacker set its been going well
Archaludon
More like Shadow or than a proper new type
I was hoping you said it was good\
Just use a grassy field with terrastilised terapagos
I feel like it should have been like a proten terra before they nerfed it
You know if Shedinja got added to the game, Tera Stellar would be a lot more useful.
Can’t wait for them to get rid of this in gen 10…
Thet so cool

I see stellar type only as a terrastalized type.
ITS STELLAR!
They should have added sound type
Rare Skraw miss
Stellar type is so bad, it won the first Regulation F tournament. Wait...
Probably just a flash in the pan
Stellar type more like the stinky type hee hee.
I dont like this tera type
I don't think Stellar counts as a real "Type". It's more like the Shadow Type from Colosseum.
My opinion is that It was Made to be the Most Mid option. Gamefreak looked at everything and made something that cant be resisted nor does super effective (Unless terraziled). Its just mid
i dont like the the thumbnail
me too
Its a bad type
Game freak should be ashamed for being this lazy and confusing
