    AWESOME stuff!!! Louis Armstrong loved these guys & so do I. I grew up with my folks 78’s and didn’t get into Rock until later. Never lost my love of this and other Easy Listening music, however.

    For anyone who grew up in the NYC metro area in the 1950s it wouldn't be New Year's Eve without Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians on TV. It's "The sweetest music this side of Heaven."

      Everybody in the usa listened to him on nye. I grew up in St. Louis and everyone I knew did. I still feel bad about losing him.

    Wow does this ever bring back memories. I was always interested in his using a big recording tuba rather than a string bass for his band, gave it a very early, punchy and swinging sound. I miss Guy and his great New Year's parties!

    I know answer will be forthcoming but, What the Hell does Guy use the baton for? I cant figure out what he's doing? It's not the tempo, nor anything I can figure. What up with that

    • @JamesKidd007
      @JamesKidd007 Před 5 lety

      Why don't you ask why a symphony conductor uses a baton? They set the tempo, give cues, determine the order of solos, etc. Are you that dumb?
