The State of Diablo 4 in Season 4

- I'm Raxxanterax and I make Build Guides, Leveling Guides, Tier Lists and More for Diablo 4, Last Epoch, Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2. Season 4 started yesterday on May 14th. I was able to blast all the way to 100 in 12 hours with my Minion Necromancer. I think Diablo 4 is in a better state than it has been up to this point and I'm excited for the direction the game is headed in.

Me: *wakes up* Oh they updated D4 yesterday?
Rax: I am already level 100
Lmao fr this guy is one of the best
He Just plays while we work
@@Adama.1 He works when you play, because he works all the time.
By the time I'm done with my shift he's gonna have all classes maxed saying there's nothing to do in game.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The fact that you can finally speed boost on your horse in town got me!
My favorite quality of life change
Who knew!?😂😂.. my favorite change 😂😂. It moves like season 2 again!! Season 3 it sucked!
Ohhh...I played for like 45 minutes last night and didn't notice!!! SWEET!!!
Horsey now moves at the speed of light! 😭
Until you get to the gate going out of town it slows back down for some reason.
One thing that was a little annoying when tempering was that if you don't get the effect you wanted you have to go all the way back through the list and find that one specific temper to try again. If you temper something, just keep that same temper selected so you can click once if you need to try again.
Totally ! yea like a choice to keep same affix the previous item had.
I completely agree, this would be such a tiny, but great change. Kind of annoying and tedious to operate that menu
Dude the Helltide is so crazy now, I love it. It's just constant chaos, doesn't get old. So easy to spend so much time in there and get great gear, boss pops and fighting the mega boss frequently. Absolute win.
The best new thing by far is legendary aspects being automatically stored (and stored forever) when you salvage a legendary. I had a stash full of max roll aspects that I never used because I was always waiting for that perfect piece to use it on. I'm the same kind of player that will finish every Final Fantasy having never used an elixir or megalixir, because "I better save it" mentality won every time.
Me with nuka Cola quantams. If you know you know
This combined with the sell all button has been such a wild improvement to QoL. I knew about the changes before playing, but I wasn't prepared for just how much better it would feel.
@@NoodlesXmachina im not sure ive ever used a quantum now you mention it haha
What I dont like is that all the content will be removed after the season. That bothers me.
that elixir comment lol im bad for that.
You gotta get over the gold problem which isn’t there. Whispers takes literally 5 min. 2 red dungeons or 2 pvp boss kills fills it and you have 10 mill gold. Please stop trying to force the game to be nothing but “nightmare dungeon only because nothing else matters” please let the game have variety. The gold is perfect right now. Grind gold, or grind xp, or grind glyphs, or grind loot. Game would suck if you force all of that to come from 1 activity
I couldn't agree more. I saw him mention on stream that Gold was the #1 problem. Then I went and talked to some guildmates and they mentioned you get 5mil from whisper caches. So yeah, this is a non-issue.
Yeah. I dont get the desire to smush all content rewards into a single activity. Its reductive.
His take is 100% L on this issue. Same with the Scattered Prisms complaint. "Yeah I could go do this other activity to get gold/scattered prisms, but I chose not to and I barely got any gold/scattered prisms, so you should make sure I get them on the one activity I do on repeat". Go do other stuff! Nobody wants to run nightmare dungeons on endless repeat.
💯👏🏾
100% this
Thanks for the tips, my wife and I have been playing since the beginning, and we did get fed-up in season 3, but I agree that they deff seem to have made changes in the right areas, we are casual players but after listening to your comments were back on. thanks Rax
hey Rax , in regards to the seasonal rewards - if you mouse over them and read the description they'll tell you what gear is inside , INCLUDING if its sacred/ancestral. Loot from them is static so for anybody reading - just use them up asap
I messed around for a few hours last night. The game is crazy now. Whispers, helltides, nmd all feel better. The codex of power is fantastic. It feels the true release of the game.
Well its an acceptable release of the game considering what actually released. The game could have still been amazing on release, meaning still way better then what it is right now
Im loving it
Hopefully the game has longevity after vessel of hatred.
People said all this at season 2 launch.. What happened with that?
Only took a year of paid 70 dollar alpha testing to go from Alpha to Beta build.
Listening comprehension is a problem here. Rax said, "when you get into WT4, you are gold starved." It has nothing to do with him skipping loot now because he no longer needs the mats. Two separate points in time.
My main class I play is druid and at lvl 12 I got the shockwave aspect for pulverize and the unique necklace dolmen stone and was super hyped!
Fast forward the next day I am lvl 80 now and I honestly this is the the best season for me. So many uniques are now accessible and you just feel so much stronger moving into tier 3 and 4.
All in all I really enjoy this season and honestly their going in the right direction for this season.
The tooltip on the Caches states their power. They are named Legendary/Sacred Legendary/Ancestral Legendary Cache.
literally the first dungeon I did on Hardcore... butcher kills me at lvl 8
Welcome to dark souls
Thats sort of the whole point of hard-core is that RNG is one potential component of death just like skill is
I am a glass half full sort of dude… So just be thankful it didn’t happen at level 50
Glad I saw this comment forgot about that …
What do you get when you play hardcore? You get what you fucking deserve!! gg go next lol.
El oh el
Tip for easy Tree of Whispers: During "most" helltides you will get at least 1 "quest" to kill the new zone boss lady, which will award 5/10 whispers. What I usually do is watch out for that quest while doing NM dungeons and Pit. This way I can get some easy whispers without losing much time on ToW and still getting a good amount of gold from it. From my experience the "legendary chaos" whisper caches have a very large amount of gold.
Great run down, thanks! I'm enjoying S4 so far after skipping S3. I just made it to WT4 at lvl 56.
Diablo 4’s 9 month beta is over
It went from a bad game to an average game. There is definitely progress.
Funny thing is that is on the short end of betas. Games nowadays spend 4-8 years in beta.
@@Dgnine it was never a bad game, just bad endgame. now it has decent endgame
9 month? it's been 11month now
@@ahmedmoslemany3908
Diablo is an endgame game. Bad endgame = bad game.
And yes, the game is still crap, and I'm sure it will remain so.
The developers don't know how to make games and do what the players tell them. It's a shame that they don't have their own vision, they don't have a fundamental understanding of what their game is and how to develop it.
The same thing happened in d3.
I started my necro minion build yesterday around 7:30pm, I was level 44 before I went to bed around 11, when i got my seasonal caches I felt a huge boost, fighting mobs never became frustratingly difficult where I felt like my power progression was going backwords due to monster scaling (which happened every single time I've tried to play the game previously) - it's just been a fun grind with rewarding levels of experience and loot. I actually want to try making some other classes and keveling them up when i get done toying with the end game, just to see how it plays. I LOATHED the thought of grinding new characters before.
The new helltides are kick ass. I like the nydus worm that spits out zerg I mean demons
Love the ref :D
😂😂
its kinda cute too.. he ambush us anytime. Real fun
I love the sense of fear now when doing helltides when I am not paying attention and something spawns right on me. I hope this never changes. I would like to see the reward chests all converted to the same mystery chests with a mix of rewards so I don't have to run around the map looking for one chest, similar to what world tier 1,2 Helltides are like. Salvaging and getting the affixes automictically is a massive improvement. Overall this was a huge win for D4 and I was one of the biggest critics. I agree with almost all your feedback during the video as well.
The best thing about this season for me is the amount of aspects in the codex of power. I really hope they don't reduce the amount and only add to it as the game progresses, allowing greater build diversity. If they need to nerf stuff, so be it, more options more better.
I'm loving the Codex of Power changes. So great!
amazing change 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I mean it was so bad before its funny they fix it after ONE YEAR
@@blajxyou still complaining? I bet even if they did fix it one year earlier, you’ll still have things to complain. Just be grateful they did change it.
@@DanielgunKim You're the type of person that would tell someone, "you only got hit once, stop complaining. You should be glad you didn't get hit more"
@@DanielgunKim dude there is levels in terms of people and money available for blizzard compared to other developers. The game itself is premium priced PLUS in game transactions. U expect it to be THE ARPG, and previous to this patch it was awful in the most important aspect which is itemization. They had lots of feedback from previous titles as well and needed whole year of constant backlash to make it right. Im glad they did finally fix big part of the game coz i finally get back to it and im having fun. There is still skill "trees" that need to be changed, especially when u compare that to last epoch, and they already copied itemization from them and did it right so i hope skills overhaul is next in menu with dlc release.
What I love is that he doesn’t just make complaints, he also gives possible solutions. Well done, man!
Classic Raxx!
Really. The developers of this game are imbeciles, they need to get solutions to problems from the players, they themselves cannot understand what needs to be fixed in their game and how to develop it.
The tester they didn’t need to pay for
I agree with you on everything said, great video. So far lvl 52 I am having fun in season 4. I am worried everyone is going to blast through the content too fast and be starving for season 5 way early. That's where leaderboards would come in to keep people fighting for their spot and grinding.
I got Esu's Heirloom as my first unique from the rewards stash. Gotta say, 3 seconds of +75% speed was really helpful and fucking amazing.
Raxx: we need a way to make reliable gold, selling your items instead of salvaging feels bad
Also Raxx: i have so many crafting mats, I don't pick up items anymore to salvage
It’s been out 1 day and your maxed on mats? Doubtful….
@@poochz2 no, my mats aren't maxed. My comment was about Raxx, talking about how he doesn't pick up anything anymore because he doesn't need the salvage, but was also complaining about not having gold.
@@Nipperbibbo Yeah, his comment made no sense on that. Sell materials for money. Easy solution. Sorry I misinterpreted your comment.
yeah he dropped the ball with that comment. he listed two things that he could do to make money, said he's ignoring them, and wants some other way to make money. it's like he wants everything to come from the one activity he wants to do.
I think hes a bit tunnel visioned (and made a video too quickly) because you certainly can makeup for gold roadblocks by actually selling stuff
Personally with the gold issue, I really don't want it to be more common outside of whispers. It's nice to have such genuine motivation to interact with multiple mechanics. You definitely shouldn't be able to just run Nightmare Dungeons and not have to worry about gold. Nightmare Dungeons already have multiple reasons to be running them, they're already quality content.
Whispers being the preeminent way to get gold is a good function for it, that other content can't really offer. That's great. Helltides are already amazing, Nightmare Dungeons are already amazing. I'm definitely not for them removing the major function of Whispers by just giving you a bunch of gold elsewhere. I do agree with the fact that Whisper turn in giving WT4 Nightmare Sigils could be nice.
Yeah, "I dont like NMD and don't want run them, please upgrade my glyphs a little on tree of wispers". same.
I agree. It's a bad take from Raxx and he is usually pretty good with stuff like this.
Variety is why people like the other games in the genre. We don't need to be pigeonholed into just NMD's.
@@MrWiggz69 I honestly agree that the variety with all of this is good, i dont know how bad the gold issue is, but if its a very big problem, i dont see an issue bumping the gold income in lets say NMD's by 10-15% if it makes so you can pretty reliably upgrade your gear and so on. While whispers still having a good reason to do them and possibly adding smth to them for an even bigger reason to interact with all of it, just getting that sweet spot of not being forced to do smth you hate but also having it be the best use to get certain things. Thats whats so good about POE, there is so so many thngs to do and you are never forced into any specific type of content, however that is ofc due to trade but you get the point im sure.
@@th1zzend220 The gold issue isn’t as bad as Raxx is making it sound. I hit 100 on my Druid today and had like 60mil to play with and that was on the low side for me.
agreed, everything should have a niche.
For tempering, you don't have to wait for animation to finish. Just press ESC,it's faster and you will have that bonus
TBF, if you would have gotten the Iron Wolf caches naturally instead of saving, one of the caches early on like #6 or 7 gives you a bunch of mats, which also includes enough dust to make several NM dungeon sigils. I received this cache just a couple levels before I was ready to do NM dungeons, so worked out perfectly for me.
I'm 5 hrs in on my barbarian and the season is like a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to playing more!
I rolled Druid but Barb is where I'll go next. Dust devils looks cool.
We really need to have a happy medium with speed of progression. The same people complaining about a lack of content also complain about not being able to min max a char in one 12 hour playing session. I do agree we need endgame, and i dont want a long drawn out leveling situation, but we need to meet in somewhere in the middle.
These guys are a rare breed. Their numbers are so small in the players base that the game needs to lean more towards casual gameplay
Right wtf he is level 100 I haven’t had time to log in yet sheesh!
I am happy for my minion necro. I feel so lonely playing without minions . Happy to have a strong build finally.
@@RAIVEN. its good for druid companions too. Im pretty these minions buffs also work for the sorceress conjurations.
@@dtczyk8976it’s his job is it not?
Easy way to expand the end game is to make quests for cosmetic and unique gear, different to what you can buy or drop, quest only items. If you have to farm, say 2 hours to collect enough loot for 1 such item and there are 10, all of a sudden that's extra 20 hours.
Great video, completely agree with summary, so happy!
Missing your 2nd temper on those items (something I learned my 2nd day in)
Whats great about this system is everyone is enjoying it cuz we all took a long ass break lmao.
I haven't been back since the first season, I'm not coming back for at least another year or two. The game will be unrecognizable and I look forward to that lol.
@@You0nlyLiveonce try 4 years when diablo 5 gets announced lmao.
I skip every other season. I do the same thing with poe.
@@johnWayne-vd1qy i wish i could get into poe
As a console player the movemnt is jank and its just to much for a new person. Plus im lazy. That skill tree tho when you first start. Sheeesh
So a 2nd honeymoon after the divorce...
That was fast Raxx, GZ!
Greetings from Croatia.
Nobody cares where you're from.
39:00 - @Raxxanterax - what they can do to help minions is add an attack button, similar to Last Epoch. Hit "A" and your minion attack wherever your mouse is pointing. If there's nothing to attack, they run to that spot and then run back to you.
If a little tiny company like EHG can figure this out, there's zero reason that Blizz can't do it. We do NOT need a cast bar spell for "command skeleton" like we had in D3. That was nice, but it would truly suck to lose one of our casts for something that can be done with a hot key. Make it "A" just like we have in LE and then every class that has minions can use it.
Diablo 2 doesn't even have something like that and it's a superior game. Don't fix what's not broken.
skeletons wandering around aimlessly IS broken. D3 had a "command skeletons" skill. That worked great. D2 not having something doesn't make it ok.
Last Epoch has a completely different key that doesn't "waste" a skill. A = attack the spot where your mouse is. IT works phenomenally. Just one of MANY reasons that Last Epoch is so much better than D4. I say that as someone that has been playing Diablo games since 1997.
great summary Rax - thank you for your service!
Bruh is at lvl 100 hardcore and doesn’t even need to fully upgrade his potions. 😂
From my experienc,e it's kind ahard to get the gold to upgrade the potion unless you sell a lot of loot somehow lol
Some of the higher level gear I got through helltide that I couldn’t equip for another 20 levels sold very well and made buying potions a non-issue for me. I think I got those from the blood maiden.
isnt that what hardcore players always do? play content they cant die to anyway. why would he need potions xD
they made the game stupid easy now
@@sonnyankau9239 stupid easy? go play rogue lol my hands hurt after like an hour 😂
Glad its moving in the right direction it left a sour taste in my mouth after season 1 this is the 1.0 we deserved now they just need to keep building up the endgame
My guess is come dlc they will add new world bosses, the new equivalent to Lilith (Mephisto), monster archetype(s) for the jungle biome, 2 bosses equal to Andariel and Duriel, and lastly some kind of gearing addition such as Mercs, Sets, Rune Words etc.
is the zoom out feature just automatic or a setting that needs to be changed?
I didn't notice a difference on Xbox, and couldn't find a setting to toggle
Thank you for the mature way you communicate w/ Blizz and they listen. I now am interested in D4 and I enjoy it!
Did you run any legion events? I got prisms from there pretty frequently
On ptr i noticed they were massively nerfed in drop rate, thanks for the tip where to try to get some from other than world bosses, I just wish they would add something like a mini helltide to it instead of scratching ya butt at the campfire

I wouldn't say unreal, it's better but there are also still better arpgs out there
If this makes you have a blast then I imagine the ceilling is really low
I've been gone since season 1, and the game is way better now

@@Zanbatoss People like you don’t even want to like the game lmao
To make the next leap they need to change the skill tree to make it more important like they did with the items. This accompanied with stretching the captain and side quests and make them count can make the game jump again to new levels. Great season
Love the camera distance.
Wish it would be a bit more zoomed out but it's good enough
Dipped back in for the first time since S1. Played for ~3 hours last night. I really enjoyed myself and looking forward to playing some more.
I think the horse sprint in town came from the fact that EVERY spell that did damage was disabled.
Sprint was disabled in town at launch when it didn’t do damage. Blizzard is all about wasting your time and making you play longer.
@@e-studio Which might explain their BS with season journey this round, Uber boss kills that most casuals won't be able to do, But it keeps them in game longer pumping up those BS statistics making Blizzard look good for the quarter.
I noticed in your diablo sheet tier list for nightmare dungeons renegades retreat is missing. Is the list not complete?
22:27 THANK you so much for mentioning this!
The Helltide feels like the Gate of Hell has actually opened. Intense mob density, as you gain anger from the demons, it's frantic. Riding your horse and the demon comes from underneath and knock you off, IS AWESOME! You think it is sweet, get off your mount. THEN, the orange boss that comes out IS INSANE. Kudos Blizzard 💯
I think it'd be cool if they added another Capstone event once you hit level 100 that unlocked a new end game mechanic. It'd help to add the feeling of "Ok i am now truly in the end game"
Lilith was supposed to be the capstone to world tier V.. but yeah, they swept that under the rug, most likely due to not finishing the game in time of the deadline so they cut it short
@@itsnotthatserious9102 I havent heard that from anywhere and I've been watching the development of the game super closely. lilith was always supposed to be the Pinnacle boss, not anything to do with WT5

Hey, great video, man. I'm only level 47 soft core atm. Running through the campaign again, if you can believe it. Sorc. I have yet to engage with end game, obviously, but even in my little kiddie pool, I'm loving the changes so far. Already had a unique drop that actually encouraged me to change my build and made it more fun. Can you even believe it? It's happened a few times. I think the identity of the game lies in Helltides. Its dark, demonic, full of blood etc. It just fits - plus the monster density just feels right. It's a blast leveling in it now.
Plus the amount of "holy shit" moments where theres like 20 elites on screen and more are popping up is crazy
I'm not sure I like this being the levelling from level 1 thing at all tbh. Sure, introduce it a bit earlier but this seems like the game is just arcade mode with it that early.
@@Dommomos What would you rather do? Dungeons? Campaign? Outdoor events? Whispers? You can still do all of that brotha, but Helltides is simply WAY more fun
@@____GoMeZ____ I'm not saying it's not fun. You just shouldn't have access from it from when you first start a character. It's like you're playing sonic the hedgehog and only doing the bonus level the entire time = arcadey.
@@Dommomos
Isn’t everything “arcadey”? Random Glyph pedestals for no in-lore reason, funny little NPCs that disappear as soon as they step outside of town, just the idea of a random homeless guy in town “crafting” your legendary weapons with world-class power etc.?
@@Dommomosok, so don’t do them then lol. you literally just reiterated your original issue when someone gave you a direct solution to said issue. Helltides are one singular non mandatory option out of several.
this is also an arpg… tell me how the inherent gameplay isn’t already extremely, extremely “arcadey” when your mowing down hoards of demons no matter what content you’re doing and that mowing down of demons is facilitated and supplemented by extremely “arcadey” systems lol
The sonic bonus level makes 0 sense. Sonic bonus levels are not only typically an entirely different type of gameplay from standard levels, but they even double down and drastically change the style of presentation, again typically.
With helltides you kill demons using the same gameplay and for the same general reasons as you would otherwise so I’m not entirely sure how helltides are like a sonic bonus level or why that would even be bad. options exist for a reason. I’ll even give you a hint. It’s so you can choose the option(s) that suits your preferences the best.
My suggestion about the gold situation would be the Pit and nightmare dungeons should contribute to whispers event. just a few points every dungeon, 1-2 maybe. solves the problem of being forced to do whispers and the lack of gold
8:05 back at the blizzcon where D4 was announced they floated a system like this: the "Artifacts." They were items (red in color) that were super strong but you could only equip one at a time. Guess it never came to pass
Expansion maybe
It's in d3, primals, or the crafted primal anyway
That's interesting, but imo only on paper, at least with their idea of what a unique item is meant for. They seem to want to you to pivot one, or two builds at most around uniques, making the uniques essentially the bottleneck, and not something that would trigger a wider variety of builds. Think about Tempest Roar, for instance. It enables werenado, and that's pretty much it. Then that build obviously got much stronger (especially pre nerf) than most other Druid builds, because Tempest Roar was really hard to find, so they wanted to balance its build power around the difficulty in finding the gear for it.
I'm not saying they aren't capable of it, and I am seeing more and more variety, but it still seems to be very much funneled into specific builds, not archetypes.
I think it was a season theme in d3 ‘ethereal items’ - super unique powerful items and can only hold one.
That's really not the same thing. If a limit has to be put on how many can be equipped then you're probably just getting into the absurd power creep of stacking more and more powerful tiers of items.
The chase uniques in PoE like Headhunter, Mageblood, Original Sin etc... are not independently strong items. In fact in terms of raw stats they are basically trash rares that are vastly weaker than high tier crafted stuff. Their 'godly' power comes from building/investing around the trade-off mechanic from the unique affix that gives some kind of multiplicative benefit that is greater than the additive power of better stat items. For this reason there is no need to enforce a limit on them because there is only so many directions a character can invest in without being spread too thin and it all comes at the cost of wearing lots of trash/missing stats that doesn't leave a lot of baseline power for those mechanics to really multiplicatively scale.
Its been 12 hours my boy!!! Thank you, Raxx. For all the dope and informational content. You're the man to watch.
great video, i am loving this season so far :) very proud of all these changes the dev team has made!
The lack of Scattered Prism's was my biggest complaint. In 1-85 I found 2, I used one around lvl 50ish and it hit me how scarce they are and still only have the one. Didn't you used to get them from the big Hell Tide chests?
Leaderboards are a big thing to me friendly competition is fun. Hell I’d like to see total damage at the end of world bosses or nightmare dungeons
Yessss THIS
I saw lucky Luciano 1 shot rogue in my recommended so if true while things like those exist leaderboards are completely pointless
I would love damage meters, I'm sure we won't get them because it would promote "toxicity" or some nonsense. Monster Hunter World had awards at the end of the hunt for which player did the most damage, this was removed and replaced with who used the most tools or used slinger the most 🙄
Fun thing. I have a older pc 6700k and a GTX 1060 6GB. My performance with raytracing is better than w/o while using FSR2. I can crank that bad boy to ultra on my old rig, it has 0 stutter, pc doesn't pver-heat as it did in the previous season on normal high. I don't know what the devs did there but if any one of you guys from D4 reading this, a big thank you from me. I can finally play the game fully decked out at 1080p and it's amazing!
You know 1060s don't have rtx right? So I call bs unless your cpu done how taking all the work load..
I’m using a laptop with an rtx 3060. For whatever reason it also runs way better with fsr2 and ray tracing low instead of using DLSS and no ray tracing. Kinda weird
The devs are really insane if they manage to make a 1060 run ray tracing at playable fps xD
In no way will raytracing give a performance boost, ever. What is probably happening here that enabling ray tracing disables other graphic options without actually enabling rt itself.
@@mikepullman2513 I know a damn GTX doesn't have RT. This is the reason why I wrote the comment in the first place. The thing is that in Season 3 with ultra settings on I was getting 35-40 fps while my pc was close to over heating, basically could be used as radiator at that point.
Since Season 4, I'm using ultra with rt on and it works better than ultrat w/o. I'm getting 75-80 fps with fsr2 and rt on on ultra while w/o rt on but still ultra and fsr2 on I'm getting 55-65 fps and it does also stutter once a while for like 2 seconds.
I don't know why and how this phenomenom happened but for some reason for me at least it's better and it looks better on ultra than it did in S3. Also the pc is hotish but not stove like hot which again is a great bonus for me.
Whatever they did with these changes, they did a goddamn good job at it.
im running with 4090, when i turn on dlss+rt, my 13900k cpu usage spiked to 100% and my gpu was barely having any pressure, idk what is happening
38:02 a potential simple solution could be that when all minions are summoned, when clicking in the summon button, it triggers the priest/ golem power and also forces the target to where you’re pointing at. Similar to what the necro does in D3.
It's this build on maxroll? Link to the build? I've seen 10 different Shadow/minion iterations just curious what you run
I’m very positive about D4 but I don’t like the fast leveling experience.
It was fine in season 2.
Or create an endgame leveling system.
Now most people will probably done with the season after one week playing 😂
Actually that amount of people is very small. Most are casuals. They want everyone to be able to reach 100 and take part in the endgame they have. Now they can. The highest i reached was 94 in season 2 and i played for about 1 to 2 hours about 5 or 6 days outa the week
Most people are casuals so it's great for them. I'm sure they'll adjust it for the next season, I think they just want people to explore the new systems.
Lvl 50 couch dad. So far so good. Damage numbers off and the new "dark" filter games looking better too. Hardcore is hardcore indeed and the way to play always.
Dark filter?
@Oxi3y I personally got a pop up loading up the game with option to have monster highlights ect removed. I said "sure I try" maybe u missed it look in options.
"dark" filter iirc has always been there if i understand what you mean
@@Oxi3y i think he means the setting when you first launch the game that lets you choose if you want the visuals to have additional highlights or not.
@@Stavroization You're absolutely right. It's been there since day 1 but it wasn't the default. I had to customize the option myself because I couldn't stand how it looked like a cartoon, I need D4 to be dark and gritty.
Hell yeah. I got through the game when it released. I enjoyed it and got to level 100 but it was lacking. I decided to take a break and see what happens after a few season and fix some shit. Looks like its time to jump back in. Thanks for an update on the status of the game.
Thanks for supporting the Diablo Community. You definitely covered all of the issues I have with the game right now. They have made huge improvements to the loot, and that aspect of the game finally is starting to feel good.
Considering that the main gold tip in the past has been "sell your yellow drops" and you're skipping picking up yellow drops, do you think that might be part of your issue with both gold and yellow drops?
Not even close to making up the difference. A single Masterworking reset is like 3mil
When leveling is so fast what's the point in levels?
Its good, becouse you can do more different characters and enjoy.. For people with job, was kinda impossible to reach lvl 100, before
@@MrLu4o at this point just give us all the skill points.
@@korn7809 lol
@@korn7809 Well , i am lvl 14 and i played for 2 hours ,yesterday .. I think the system is pretty decent ..
The point is that leveling your skills is only like 1/3rd of the power up process. The reworked gear system makes, getting good aspects, masterworking, tempering, and hunting uniques is the other 2/3rds
Raxx, you're playing at 1080p with a 4090?

Im having a blast with my Frozen orb Sorc. Helltide is fun for most of the time. Switching between ND and helltide seems like a good gameplay loop. Now just need some new dungeon maps and new monster types, make it varied like PoE maps and I can see I will play this game for years
Better add some fun and interesting loot and items like poe too if you want to keep people playing for years. Poes depth in build diversity and its map/gameplay options are a huge draw and retainer for players
@@mattb6646 that's great but not critical for me. Im satisfied with items currently. The thing I miss most is PoE maps: distinct looking regions with tons of varied monsters. If D4 somehow make ND great like that that would be awesome
Diablo 4 is in the best spot it’s been in since launch for sure! I want it to be perfect too but I’m currently enjoying the changes. Necromancer is absolutely busted however
Yeah dude I killed Elias at level 55 in under 10 seconds with no build guide, no tempered gear, and no socketed gems. I’m having a blast but capstone bosses were way too easy

Awesome video! I've thought about every single one of these points
Finally were getting a game that is a lot more polished spot on with your takes rax.
somehow I'm not hating the speed of levelling because I know I will be pouring in more time on crafting my end game items.
Honestly, the best world boss experience was on the first open beta, everyone was under leveled and beating it felt like an actual accomplishment. With there being so many more sources of legendary gear now I would love harder world bosses.
How much performance does the ray tracing take? Would you say are we talking like going from quality to performance mode with dlss
Depends on your card. Older RT cards will likely take a hit but diablo on a whole is a heavy COU focused game so your mileage will vary based on hardware.
I finally was able to start a new seasonal character last night at around 10pm PST, after Raxx hit 100 already, and I was able to level to 15 w/my minion necro in about 30 min just playing helltide. I had to work to get AWAY from all of the monsters that constantly spawned. When I finished killing a bunch, if I stood there too long just trying to pump up my skill points or check what new gear dropped that I could equip, more monsters would spawn and attack so it was hard to get a second w/o going to town to review my stuff lol. I also love that they combined the aspect for add 2 more skeletal warriors and mages together as that saves a slot for something else now.
The game is much better but it is a bit sad the "journey" to end game is that fast. we got many recipies(blue one) for example that we will use only for 2 hours gameplay - without rushing it took me 4 hours to go from 1 to 50 and drop to WT3.
All the drops until ancestral will be used for 30 min and not much sense to engage with.
Now that the game has more meat would be nice if they could slow down a bit the pace.
Not only level 100 is important.
This is why I enjoy hardcore, gotta slow down a little and you may eventually die and need to go again, endless content lol
i love the fact that you can finsish the season in 1-2 days and move on
wrong
Most casuals won't be finishing this season, Dummies at Blizzard made the last part of journey too hard for most, Uber boss kill.
Good luck to the solo casuals.
Hello sir, and thank you for the video. The game feels better now indeed. For me it would be great if they would implement the zoom levels as Titan Quest has. I was disapointed I bought the game at full price, now I start playing it again from time to time but some improvements are still needed.
I really love the idea of les loot dropping but being more excited when it does drop. im level 53 and have 4 scattered prisms, i feel like they have a good drop rate. solid video
Fairly casual player. Dad with just the 1 job. Have played every season through with multiple lvl100 toons in each. Got to lvl42 in 3hr yesterday just doing the seasonal content (helltides).
The season is shallow but I am happy to trade that for the MASSIVE quality of life improvements I am experiencing. Huge step in the right direction after the season 1 and season 3 backsteps.
Shallow in what way? Havent played since season 1 launch and that was pretty bad. Do you mean shallow in the way that you dont have many options for leveling or that they didnt rly add much new stuff but mainly focused on improving the systems and adding needed QoL?
@@th1zzend220 Most likely a mix of what you said and the fact that they cut out a major season theme for more QoL/content updates (which I’m totally fine with).
@@TheDude044 i see, well yeah im cool with that too for sure
I don’t want the seneshal but why can’t they keep things like vaults in the game
Instead of skipping yellows, you could pick them and sell them for gold
They need to make a button "sell everything" just like the salvage one tho...
@@Lucyllerjust mark them and sell

Planned to start season from the moment it went live, but work got in the way, I am pretty confident it will be a good experience, since every season till now was a gradual improvement.
I dont leave comments usually but man i've been following your work for a few years and to me you deserve nothing but praises for your amazing content. I'm not a ARPG huge fan but i've played the diablo series for as long as Diablo 1 and i rarely uncountetered someone of your caliber. You're so dedicated to your work and you give so much to the community that you're already a legend!
I just wanted to says that this one time and wish that you'll continue to do so as long as you can cause it must be so taxing to have to be at the top always. I dont think peopel realise theamount of dedication you need to reach this lv! Awsome man! Stay healthy and keep up your amazing job!
They fixed a lot of the tedium and annoyance but the game still lacks depth or variety in the itemization and class customization. I had some serious whiplash going from Last Epoch to the new D4 season, started my Fire Sorc and went "Now how am I gonna customize my Fire Bolt?" only to realize...you really can't. Item rarities are also meaningless now since you can get a full suite of Legendaries after 2 hours, and every other rarity (except the occasional unique) is worthless.
The game is also turning into D3 and I strongly dislike that. The levelling process is nonexistent and outside of some of the endgame stuff, the game is stupidly easy. There's no sense of progression since they just hand you good loot like candy. 3 tiers of the new Iron Wolves quest and you get like 5 legendaries and a unique...
this is what the community asked for lol
I’m hitting at least 80 tonight! I got 42, died to overworld polar bears quad slamming me at the same time, made another barb, died again at 48 to overworld bs, back at 28 before bed. I will get a HC 100!
Purposely ignored most news about this during PTR. Wanted to go in blind and hopefully experience what I wanted to experience when the game launched last year. I am actually having fun now. My husband started playing again. He gave up on this game before I did last year. We’re actually enjoying ourselves. The improvements are so insane that it feels like someone that was way too stubborn at blizzard finally got moved out of a decision making role. There is always room for improvement in a game, but I am so glad to finally be able to enjoy this game. Sometimes I just want to get off work and go blast stuff to blow off steam. This game FINALLY provides that.
To have a season theme be: ease of use, is kind of funny, but totally awesome. No more stash problems, fewer trips to town, beefed up hell tides with great mob density, better potions etc. the codex upgrade alone is great. thanks for freeing me of hoarding legendaries and painstakingly comparing them.
For the first time since release I wanted to play the game, I actually lost track of time because the game kept me engaged and didn't feel like a chore . The hell tides feel fun and not like something I have to do but want to. So this is a big improvement for me.
Same. I had to force myself to play after beating the story as well as every single season, but this time it really got me hooked. Played for an entire day yesterday; felt like good old days of gaming
Beat my capstones at 32, and 51. Didn't die and walked through it.

Haven't played in looooong time. What do you recommend doing first if you want to play but skip the campaign?
They’re finally fixing the game, don’t ask them to fuck it up! Thank you
The underlying guts of the game feel so much better now. Huge props to the d4 development team; this is a solid base from which to really pull out a masterpiece.
40:30 Whenever chaos or legendary chaos is an option for whisper hand in, take it. DOUBLE and TRIPLE the mat and gold count.
Yup. Minimum I've got is 3 million a pop.
Raxx! Thanks for the video. I think I can articulate your annoyance with Uber Unique items in D4 vs PoE. One word, Transformative. The mageblood, headhunter, and a plethora of PoE items (some not even that rare) are *transformative* meaning once you equip it, the way you play the game, the other gear you wear, everything comes back into question because of the transformative nature of the items. D4 tends to play it safe. The new D4S4 items are much better, but D4 still lacks any items that completely change the way you play/build/spec your character and I think we would all like to see some items of that nature introduced to the game.
So, I bought Diablo 4 when it went on sale on Steam a while ago, but there was definitely something about it that kept me from fully getting into it even though I was still interested in another mainline Diablo game. I do believe it was the confusing loot mixed with the slower paced leveling that was felt in like season 1 or 2. It reminds me of when they made leveling in WoW faster and more fun to progress. Now I'm going through the story campaign again even if I can skip it because, I am super casual, and all the updates to this point makes going through the campaign and story better for me, and I'll look up more of your guides when im ready for endgame!
I wish there was more ways to change skills and what they do. There's just no fun unique builds
I agree they did say they have plans to do exactly that in the future
At least they added the weapons tempering category which adds some interesting variations to how some skills work. It’s a step in the right direction and looking forward to there being more.
I'd really like to play a Werewolf build that does use Werewolf skills, without gimping my char to a point it's not fun any more.
Spamming spells as a Werewolf just feels odd.
There are a ton more options now for builds becauss of the tempering. You can apply crowd control when you couldnt before therefore adding extra effects with that. You can move around affixes to change up how builds work. Dodge is a thing now. Lots of cool combinations.
@@derbudzsame. Shred is good for speedleveling but obviously falls off a cliff
It's really funny that Raxx describes Tempering as easy to understand (which it is, don't get me wrong), while also only having one tempered affix on all of his pieces. Ancestrals can have 2 tempered affixes and they are stupid cheap to apply, so bro is just missing an affix on all pieces for no reason
