2002 Silverado Ext. Cab 1500. 78/75 turbo, 6.0, 4L80e with TSI 2900-3200 stall, with lock-up. Eaton Trutrac. Currently running 10lbs of boost and 10-11 degrees of timing.
Wym lol my 88 foxbody is 30mph fast and speedo is 140 so a burnout says I’m doing 140+😂🇺🇸🤨 wheel speed is probably number 1 reason most people lose control doing pulls or simple burnouts 😂these hellcat videos are wild going 45mph but wheel speed is 160+!!😂
This is a Transmission Specialties converter. Its only a single disc lock up, so wont be locking it up when drag racing. I'm sure there's better, well suited converters for hard core racers. This one was about $800.00. The truck is a sleeper. Truck has been 11.30 in the quarter. Thats with spinning out the hole and lifting for a split second down the track.
So I know you got a turbo cause I can hear it around what rpm do you start to make positive boost and how should one pick a stall speed or figure out what kind of converter is necessary for the turbo? Is it like 500 rpm before full boost or is it the stall speed at when you start to make full boost?
I’d choose a stall that gets you closer to your peak torque but is still streetable. My converter has a rating from 2800-3200. Since my vehicle is heavy I can can achieve a higher stall. Depends on weight and where your engine builds decent torque to choose a stall speed. For boost I’m about 3-4 lbs stalling at the track. I could make changes to build more by adjusting timing to get the turbine hot and get it spinning faster. So stall speed plays a big factor when boost happens. The turbo needs the engine under a load, to get the turbine hot to make it spin faster.
@@zachariahmagallan5738 my first build, stock bottom end gen 3 6.0 4l80e, still use the same trans. Converter, Eaton differential, injectors, fuel regulator, fuel pumps, turbo, wastegate, blowoff valve. Hp Tuners and lap top. Gauges, sensors. Probably 4-6k. I do all my own work. So there was 100 of hours learning how to tune or learning the tuning software. Current build is a bigger turbo, fic 1650 injectors, aeromotive submersible 5.0gpm fuel pump. There’s 5k in the fuel system. But it doesn’t miss a beat. 370ls, forged rods and pistons, balanced, arp bolts, cam etc… 6k. I had a reputable machine shop build it. If I was to sell it, 25k. Which isn’t bad for 900hp.
@@zachariahmagallan5738 I rebuilt my own trans with some goodies, and also have a built motor. With Everything I have, I’m 20-25k. Depends on how much work you do. For 500hp tire you could get away with stock motor and differential. Light duty trans would need to go. It won’t last. Should be around 5k. You’ll need injectors, fuel pump, regulator, a tune. Probably a handful of small items that add up also.
Running the 4l80e. Rebuilt it with a good quality clutches and the hd2 shift kit and performed all the modifications other than the relief valve. Been running strong for 3-4 years now. Fluid looks as good as when I put it in. Made 900 on the dyno a couple months back. Transmission Specialties torque converter. Single disc.
Torque Monster. Wow!!!!!
Surely got a smile outta me lol
Bruuuh the speedometer 😂😂😂😂

Do you recommend this converter looking in to possibly getting one?

Lol let’s do it with a 6.0 turbo on E haha💯💪🇺🇸
did you foot brake it or do you have a trans brake?
Foot brake. I’ve added a 2 step since then.

What gear do you launch in and and what gear to you shift up to when dragging with that 4l80e?
1st gear launch all the time. 3rd gear going through the lights at strip. 3.73 rear gear. 29" tire. Rpms around 6100. Depends on boost as well.
