I think it's BS that Natalia forgave Michael. He deserves justice. Not to mention all of the information he has been hiding and/or lying about, not only in the trial but during their conversation DIRECRLY TO HER FACE! Sure, Natalia may have been somewhat violent, but she was a kid! All kids do stupid things for no reason at all most of the time. And you can't tell me that you were genuinely scared of a disabled 7 year old, while simultaneously telling her what to do, where to be, what to say, how to move, and this that and the third. Listen, I unserstand that Natalia may be a good person, but I believe vengeance is due!
The little people who were going to adopt Natalia before the Barnetts had pictures of her with baby teeth. She has clearly grown since her interview with Dr. Phil. The Barnetts got away with terrible abuse.
Doesn't look like she grew to me, looks like she gained weight, like most people do when they age.

@@Ericalove813well she did because now Michael admits to fallowing along with whatever his wife said about Natalia because he claims his wife was “evil master mind” “monster” and he had to agree with everything or risk losing his sons. So which is it then? Natalia story has been the same pretty consistently. Michael is all over the place. Because is has also been reviled through bloodwork that she was around the age of the birth certificate provided from the orphanage. Also she does look different and how people brush over this from the beginning is comical. She doesn’t have breasts with the barnetts and she does now. Pictures of Michael holding she looks significantly smaller. It’s like people just wanna hear a good fantasy horror story then the true horror is that Natalia was just another kid abused with the system and an abusive adoptive home.

I can't believe her adoptive parents got away with it. It has been proven that she was underage when they abandoned her in an apartment in another country. Natalia needs to sue the crap out of her adoptive parents and especially the judge who changed her age in the first place. She is the victim!

And yes it was proven that she was underaged when she was abandoned but even if she had been the age the Barnetts aged her up to, she was still a disabled person and their dependent and they were still responsible for her. The fact that she was a child makes it even worse. But they were told no matter how old she was they were still responsible and they abandoned her anyway. That's why Kristine supposedly framed Michael as a violent person that was going to kill her and their sons. Because she didn't want to be responsible and if Michael was still in the states, he would be the sole responsible person for Natalia while she was galavanting in Canada with her boys.

She suffers a severe form of dwarfism and was abused (not just by the barnetts), her entire childhood. She was dying of lonliness as a tiny little girl living in those apartments on her own after going abandoned so she'd seek attention from neighbours.
She also grew up before ALL of that in institutions....too small to protect herself from the predators that surrounded her/ abused and sexualized her from a horribly early age.
Micheal Barnett admitted to he and christine throwing her down a set of stairs, shooting a gun at or around her, and making her go for long walks with crippling ankle pain. And Christine tried to pimp her out/sell her to other families of little people.
How was your childhood? Probably not as bad as hers.
She was obviously child because she got bigger, and looks more like an adult now than she did 10 years ago. The Barnets were just crazy people that took in a girl that had mental issues as well. I hope that she can find peace and they get charged with something.

Thank you!! I have been saying this crap the beginning. When I first saw the photos it seriously felt like I was in the twilight zone. because so many people were saying that Natalia was evil like the “orphan” or were uncertain. Only few in the comments spotted exactly what I said. She had to of been a child. And thankfully Michael came out again just now that he admits that Christine was really the evil one all along and Natalia was a victim. Unbelievable.

Talk about a complete failure of the court system. Unbelievable that a judge would re-age Natalia from an 8 year old to a 22 year old on hearsay. No actual evidence was presented. WTF?? I hope Natalia can heal & that the Barnett's can be held accountable somehow.
Not true ....a full blown investigation happened her actual birth certificate was acquired from the Civil Registry Office of the City Natalyah was born Mykolaiv Ukraine which affirmed her birthdate September 04 1989
Historical Medical records and DNA fingerprints The Courts have too much damn evidence that is why for 10 years she kept losing in Court because she never had any evidence to go up against her actual birth certificate affirming her birthdate and the DNA fingerprints from 2012 matched with her fingerprints from 2007 of her exiting America as a 17 yr old to return to Ukraine. .the DNA fingerprints matched
Now that her age has been proven, I’m surprised she hasn’t sued the Barnett’s for what they did to her.

She wants to. She didn’t need to be strong as a child, she needed to be protected, loved, and nurtured into adulthood. But nonetheless she has potential to thrive.
The Barnetts were arrested for child abuse but were acquitted due to Natalia's legal age.

I watched the full series with my wife and I really have no idea what is 100% true but this girl was definitely abused and she might of just turned out crazy because of that abuse

The fact the Barnetts got off on a technicality being that the jurors could not be informed that she was a 9-12 year old when abandoned to live on her own but instead under the belief she was 22 is such a travesty and miscarriage of justice.
Also that her biological mother was manipulated to give her up for not being able to afford her medical bills or the fact she was pawned off from adoptive family to family and was labeled a sociapath for acting out like many children her age do, this poor girl endured a life of sadness that no kid should ever have, and she was re-aged by 14 years effectively robbing her of her childhood.
And all the monsters that did this to her everyone from the adoptive agency, her birth doctor, the Barnetts, their family dr and judge that re aged her ALL got off scotch free…. Disgusting.

Apparently you didn't watch the end of season 2. The new adoptive family was calling her manipulative and saying they are done with her...that's how it ends of course with a too be continued.

what upset me during the docu series was the fact that her neighbors expressed that they wanted her to go away and that she was weird. If an adult, yes, her behavior is off-putting however if you look at what she did (walking into neighbors homes, looking for food, wanting to play with their kids, wanting attention) from the perspective that she was a child, on her own, the behavior is not that strange. Of course a child would want to be around people, would want to play, to have attention from others, and would be looking for food/help. The Barnetts abused her to the point that if she said anything that was contrary to what they wanted her to say she would get into trouble. I don't buy the whole "I was abused by my wife" story. He recorded himself browbeating Natalia, calling her a "liar", asking her where she had been, and who she had spoken to. They put a child in an apartment and told her to fend for herself.

This is literally the orphan plot (at least when it was believed the girl was supposedly an adult) but the plot here is in reverse. The parents are the schemers and the poor girl was the pawn in all this.

I'm watching this and had to take a mini break from it. holy hell, there is so much to unpack with this.
Same I had to take a break after binging a bunch if the episodes. It was a lot to take in. I'm hopefully going to finish it in a few days. Also the directors/producers could have done better about the way they filmed it. It's too long. They could have left a lot of it out or shortened some of the scenes.

How twisted to have your age changed because you happened to have hair in places a “regular” person at that age would perhaps not - while you are already deemed an “irregular” person by society at large. Yeah. If she was a danger, take her somewhere to be cared for. There are residential facilities for this purpose. You just don’t abandon someone, disabled, mentally ill, or a child, in some random apartment alone in another country.
Most kids adopted at an older age have issues because of what they have lived through. Adoptive parents ought to know that and prepare to help the child move forward

I've followed this thing since it broke. I actually don't have anything nice to say about the parents. Kristine Barnett wanted to make everyone think she was so great for adopting a special needs child from Ukraine, but was completely out upon realizing her care would be super expensive. $30,000 special shoes for instance. Natalia is actually super strong because that second floor apartment they put her in....... jeez. They were trying to cause her death and she survived. She just turned 20 and she's tougher than a lot of us. Imagine being 37 inches tall and the weight of a small suitcase forced to live alone in a crime filled area with no support or medical care that her adoptive parents were legally required to provide. They sidestepped that by illegally upping her age by fourteen years while they had her in a mental facility where no mental issues were found. The accusations made by supposed employees were not confirmable and likely lies paid for by Kristine. I also believe the two younger boys she has are in grave danger. The next time we hear from her her will involve the death of one or both. She needs to be put in jail and someone other than Michael should have custody.
And why is he still trying to look cool in that convertible minutes after fake crying in that last sit down with Natalia? What a D-bag!

I watched the Natalia Speaks on HBO Max that helped me fill in the gaps about her. Yes, Natalia early years were far from perfect, but she didn't appear to be so innocent and was manipulative and promiscous as she aged. I'm anxious to see what went wrong with her last adoptive family.

The videos of natalia as a little girl are very painfull to watch. She seemed so scared and humiliated. Her eyes so heartbreakingly sad. Something of her story were off - maybe she was not 6 - but maybe 10. Which is still a little kid. She was a disturbed little child. Did any state authority ever confirmed, she hat her period or pubic hair? All we hear are the "facts" of these obvious hysterical and overwhelmed parents. To me it seems nearly like a psychosis of the adults who infected their children. Horrible...

Based just on this video, I must admit I couldn't see any sign of sociopathy in her (was trained as a psychologist). She came across as genuine. Considering what she went through, it wouldn't be surprising if she did have some residual oddities of speech and behaviour.

Totes. Every aspect of this thing rubbed me the wrong way. I felt uncomfortable the whole time. But this type of thing needs to be talked about so it doesn't become normal. Kristine is a bad person but it looks like she got away with it so far... I believe the Nex time we see her will have something to do with a death of one of the two younger boys left in her custody. Someone should do something.

I think that phone call bit was definitely meant to set up more seasons. The mans still have her and post with her frequently. I assume those calls were like… “The Barnetts act like…” and they just cut that off. Otherwise, no way would 20 year old Natalia be with them now. She’d bail.
Actually no Cynthia just confirmed she is not living with them anymore. She is living with friends. But something did happen and they can't say due to breach of contract but they are working it out

Why did the first adopted parents get rid of her? They wouldn't want to if she didn't do something terrible. It's hard to believe either side at this point.
Two prospective parents could not keep her because of the cost of her surgeries and another because of a 30 grand adoption fee. Neither had bad experiences with her.
I commend Natalia for having the kindness to forgive Michael for his part, Natalie is a very strong and special spirit!
Natalia if you ever read this and I want you to know that you are very much loved and respected by people like me. I want you to know that God did not make a mistake when he created you, I also know that God will never put you through something that you cannot handle. I'm sorry that you had to go through all that emotional trauma in order for the world to finally see exactly how bright your star shines. No matter what this latest family is saying if what they’re saying is allegedly true you have to understand it from this perspective that’s a child because whether she’s you know 22 or nine she’s still someone that is a child was extremely abused and neglected. Of course her emotional gauge is not going to be the same as someone who wasn’t abandoned by their family who wasn’t forced to live on their own as a young young child, because put yourself in that position and it’s gonna be a fucked life. You’re gonna have to start looking out for only yourself at a very young age and it’s gonna cause a very strained mindset. This is someone that needs extreme mental health therapy to become a well adjusted young woman and I believe she’s capable of it. She seems extremely intelligent and extremely willing to be caring, she’s been done dirty by a lot of people and this poor child needs a hug and some understanding and some actual support because it’s atrocious what is happened to her and what has been allowed by the court systems and as well as people themselves. I’m so glad she made up with her adoptive father Michael, that’s probably very healing for her and for him, because if she forgives him, he should forgive himself as well but that woman I hope this little girl gets everything she has, because what she did to that baby was not OK

Until she releases actual info about her mental health, it does not matter that her "new" parents said on a phone call. They left her at 9 years old on her own and moved away. Considering her childhood, I am sure that will make things more difficult for her. The original parents need to be charged and put in jail. She was a child they left at 9 years old. The adopted dad can cry all he wants, he was a grown man and not a victim. He is trying to equal his drama to his daughter. It is ridiculous. The judge 2ho agreed to have the age changed without actual proof, needs to be cited as well.
Here’s the thing about Micheal he kept changing the story when I finished the series he kept saying he never once knew about his ex wife pepper spraying then he’s like oh yea I witnessed it all and kept with the thing saying Natalie was going to kill the kids when in reality she was forced to do these kinds of stuff because she was getting harmed especially the attorney of Micheal he was like oh Natalie is playing innocent and is still evil and Micheal isn’t like huh she seems so much better in her new family I hope she does continue being happy with her new family

In my opinion, all of them have a selective memory. I found it awful what happened to her but, but after watching so many documentaries, true crime videos, listening to podcasts and many different analysis, I don't believe that either Natalia or the Barnetts are 100% honest. She was wrongfully declared to be 22, that's a fact, but what actually happened in that family is still a mystery (with couple of facts).

I do agree that Kristen was the mastermind. Maybe there was some control and brainwashing from her towards Micheal and she kept some things from him but he was still active in the abuse and failed to protect her. It honestly just bothers me that Micheal's attorney (and others) kept saying she's violent and has a history of violence. Like, yeah a girl who spent her childhood constantly being abandoned, abused, and called a liar is going to act out and not be completely stable as an adult. I'm not trying to excuse any violent behavior or actions Natalia may or may not have done, it just sounded very tone deaf to me.

@@courtneycoley8487 Nothing justifies SAing children (or anyone for that matter) but the fact that that claimed incident only came up once (from what I can remember), shared only by former neighbors and never mentioned by investigators or by the supposed victims makes me wonder how legitimate that claim is.
To be clear, I am NOT saying that it didn't happen or that she's innocent of that, I'm just not going to take the word of a claimed witness when the accusation has (as far as I know) hasn't been investigated nor mentioned by anyone else in the docuseries.

This is a "simple" case of child abuse, that is still ongoing. Natalia can't start healing before justice is served. Her disguising evil ex-adoptive parents are still denying her the truth, in such a degree that so many of you have doubt.
I'm confused. Yes, Natalia has been caught red handed doing things to children a few times, but we looked past that and Natalia hasn't been abusing any new kids that I know of. 🧟♂️
