People who wished for Super Mario Galaxy 3 and/or Super Mario Sunshine 2 to happen: *I know that feel bro*

Galaxy 3 have a chance to happen if they release a new console, when they are releasing a new console, they will want a brand new experience for the new console. The new console need a Mario game that will push sales and new to people. Remember the Wii U launched with New Super Mario Bros U, a sequel? They are never gonna make this mistake again. Nintendo is aiming for a one massive open world Mario games(breath of the wild style), there is just some problems with it. First, the new console is gonna have a over-saturation of massive open world games given there will be the return of Donkey Kong in 3D and in the open format which are the system seller like breath of the wild, a new Kirby as these are quick to develop according to history and the next one will be 3D considering how popular forgotten land is, a new Yoshi open world is also a possibility as this will be the first time it went 3D and sells a lot compared to other Yoshi games. There is simply no space for Mario massive open world there as there will be a lot of massive open world platformer. Nintendo is simply not prioritising Mario to be massive open world at the launch period as there is other massive open worlds. Not only Mario will sell well regardless and also be less boosted by the transition considering they kinda experimented it with bowser’s fury, the other series have greater need of being a massive open world to have the greater boost like donkey Kong, Yoshi or Kirby. Tears of the kingdom may intentionally left out of the next console’s launch due to considering over-saturation of open world games, the switch successor just don’t need it. Open world is also typically takes long time to develop and the new open world Mario is not ready yet, Breath of the Wild took 5 year, tears of the kingdom took 4 and Kirby and the forgotten land took also 5 years of development after the previous game. I guess the development went as following for the odyssey team:
-Donkey Kong: 2017-2023(codeveloped with retro at 2021-2023, explained later)
-Bowser’s Fury: 2020-2021
-Massive open world mario: 2021-2027(after bowser’s fury released, also factor in they have to developed at donkey Kong even if retro helped them)
With the new switch launching at 2024, they are not going to delay it by 3 years in order to wait for the development as other games are ready and just Mario is missing, they would greatly benefit by releasing on next generation as bowser’s fury have performance drops in the switch despite it still won’t have 3 tflops or 10 tflops. Not only that, it probably want to take some advantage of the features in the new console like the donkey Kong open world will be greatly enhanced by the second screen map system. Given the two factors, it’s time for the opposite, as I think the open world will be single themed like sunshine or even a bit in bowser’s fury, to flow better and being the first after sunshine. I think they will make a linear game as a very great breakup in the planned lineup and also being very easy to develop. Galaxy is the best linear game of many and making it semi-linear is also great contrast of the new open world to not make it blend in. The galaxy team is basically free compare to the odyssey team which have 2 projects to manage, reform it and develop galaxy 3 make senses. I also don’t think there is any linear game format available beside the galaxy games and the 3D land/world format. The 3D land/world format is kind of pointless as the new 2D Mario and also making the only 2D mario as great as possible will be a better move rather dividing it, I also think it will kinda toy around with 3D layers like DK with cannons and going back and forth of the screen which is similar with the concept by a bit. If they release odyssey 2 as linear game, the fans will hate it and also looking like DLCs of the original. The galaxy 3 is the perfect choice and the previous 2 games are on Wii and also too long ago that the switch audience forgot it even is a thing while for people knowing about it, for people who know about it, gaining HD, modern mechanics and having ground-breaking idea is also a great difference from the original.

@terry I'm telling you what. That long explanation will make Super Mario Galaxy 3 a great chance to come out on a new nintendo console somewhere on 2025, 2026 or 2027 and it will make fans of Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 a way more amazing experience that could potentionally be way more amazing than Super Mario Odyssey. But as for Super Mario Sunshine 2, that is impossible for nintendo to make, especially after Super Mario Sunshine was released 21 years ago for the GameCube in 2002. So, if nintendo is going to make a Super Mario Sunshine sequel, they might need to finish their next main mario game coming up next or wait for another console after the next new console was released. That's just what I think.

Also having similar mechanics to sunshine and I think there is gonna be a new partner like fludd or cappy as they exist in every open world Mario beside 64. I think they are having a magic wand for Mario to remove fire and create a ice platform. Also letting you to activate some magic to control some mechanics like the launch of bullet launcher or a bob-omb exploding. You can unlock these abilities by obtaining elements

I think the next Mario game should be about time. The game could be a full on open world game like Breath of the Wild (but in the Mario style obviously) and I think that every area could be a throwback to Mario’s past games

I would get diarrhea and cry of my happyness if it happened But now since it will approach 6th year anniversary its extremely unlikely that we Will get a sequel its so sad because it is literally the best selling 3D Mario game with over 25 million copies by the time of this comment 😭
Super Mario Odissey is an amazing game, but I wish they make something else, or at least change some features. If they could mix Mario Galaxy and Odissey that would be wonderful

The last time we had a Nintendo Direct in August - that is, a "general" Direct, was in 2013, that was 10 years ago.
Infact, the last general direct for each month of the year was:

Yeah, remember when from mid-2012 to early-2014, we had a Nintendo Direct almost every month?
Suddenly, it went from almost monthly, to every few months after February 2014, and it seemed to go to it's current "3 per year" format after Iwata passed away starting from the November 2015 Direct, although it skipped E3 2016, the entire of 2020, and E3 2022.

Any new full-budget 3D Mario would be welcome at this point. Whether it be Odyssey 2 or a completely new idea, like your proposal of something more open like Bowser's Fury, I just want to run around beautiful landscapes with even more beautiful music as Mario again.

And we are getting closer* to the end of the switches life, so I think that it wouldn’t be the best to start now and it wouldn’t make since for the sequel to release on another system. Now this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.
If it came out after 2/3 years like Galaxy 2. Now 5 years out, it now needs to be the system seller of switch 2 and probably should be different.

Mario Odyssey released on my birthday in 2017. I still can't believe that conscience.
The game released a day before my birthday in my case interestingly enough.
I think a multiverse mario game is the the next one. All the mechanics from the past coming into the same game as the worlds collide. This could bring about amazing multi-player and the potential for facing off against multiple bowsers and other enemies simultaneously.
I'm also bummed we couldn't see an Odyssey 2. I feel like we could've explored the kingdoms even more, bonded with the characters and use new captures. At the same time though, I have no idea what a sequel could've been plot wise. It's not very important for Mario games, but all the 3D Mario games have some kind of story, (vacation to tropical island, save the universe, stop Bowser for some cake). Galaxy 2 was a retelling of the first game, which is why it works as a "sequel". Plus the Galaxy team had so many left over ideas from the first Galaxy game that they made a sequel. That logic you'd think would carry over to an Odyssey sequel too since there are so many possibilities, but what is the premise? I mean Odyssey was a global adventure about a wedding. How could the Odyssey team expand on that? Odyssey 2: Wedding Reception?! I know they probably could've worked around that somehow, but that could be a minor reason for a lack of a sequel.
But speaking of weddings, congrats man!
Galaxy 2 is a retelling of the first game because Rosalina's backstory was supposed to be expanded upon there.

Let's get a remake of the storyline from Super Paper Mario or even a sequel in full on 3D graphics with Dimentio returning to try possessing Luigi and this time Mario actually reacts and is fully on committed to saving his bro.

E3 is cancelled and every time it is, Nintendo stays silent throughout the entire summer and we have to wait for the September Direct to get news. I'm guessing that will still be the case here.

@@AndroidHarris It's at least cancelled for this year, although it's probably just dead period. All of the publishers pulled out because it's more worth it to do livestreams and they just didn't have enough participants to keep it going.
As far as the next Direct, I'm not sure they have much to show until it's time for next gen, and rumors are saying it won't be revealed this year. So I think they probably have just moved on.

In terms of the direct the fact that rumors/leakers have nothing means Nintendo might have a big secret they been keeping well hidden to show or it could mean there actually is nothing and they moved on. Either way I'm gonna hold out a little bit longer. They have zelda coming out soon which will be a big december holiday game alongside I think pokemon dlc? as well as pikmin 4 for the more cultured gamers so they really dont even need to announce anything until it's related to next year anyway.
Hey Nin10doland! I know it has been more than a month since Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe came out, but I found 34 MORE THINGS you may have missed. I don’t think you will make a video about this, but at least check these comments out.
Part 1:
1: Magolor has some unique dialogue if you talk to him in EX mode after getting 120 energy spheres. The first time he will reveal that this “incredible power” used to construct the Lor Starcutter (probably related to Astral Birth Void) also created “Clockwork Stars” (Galactic Nova and Star Dream), along with items that “bring dreams to life” (the Star Rod from Kirby’s Adventure: Nightmare in Dream Land). The second time, he will reveal he knew all about Kirby before meeting him, and says he knew someone who fought Kirby in the past (probably Marx from Kirby Super Star) Talk to him a third time, he will admit that he is NOT from Halcandra, then to make it up to you for lying “several times”, he will reveal his dream of opening an amusement park.
2: The song playing in the fight against the Master Crown is called “Mistilteinn, Tree Crown without a Ruler”. Mistilteinn translates to Mistletoe, a parasite that feeds on trees. This is fitting because the Master crown not only brings out the worst in you, but it also consumes your soul. (See Magolor Soul’s pause text in the True Arena)
3: Kirby uses his original animations when he gets a super ability during the fights against Traitor Magolor and his EX counterpart. (Look them up for reference) Also, if you immediately give up your super ability when you start the fight against Magolor Soul, he will skip his Black Hole attack (At least, this occurs in the original. I don’t know if this is the case for the remake, since your Super Ability still sticks around when you).
4: There are pause screen texts for Sphere Doomer, Sphere Doomers, Sphere Doomer EX, Sphere Doomers EX, True Arena Magolor Soul phase 1 and phase 2, and the Master Crown DURING the Ultra Sword segment. Some of these are mostly fun tidbits, but some (Sphere Doomers EX and both phases of True Arena Magolor Soul) are BOMBSHELLS of lore.
5: Not only is there a new animation for when a Super ability opens a portal, but in EX mode, the wall closes in on you faster.
6: When you destroy the volcano in 7-3 using Ultra Sword, there is an effect when it crumbles afterwards. That wasn’t in the original. Also, when destroying the tree in 1-4 using Monster Flame, it immediately burns and falls off screen. In the original game, you could destroy it in sections.
7: “Scattered Souls across Isolated Isles”, from Kirby and the Forgotten Land, plays in W1-3, W2-4, W3-4, and W4-5 in Magolor Epilogue. This makes sense because it is actually a remix of Another Dimension (the music that plays when you go in the portals).
8: Magolor Soul’s fight in EX mode in the remake is slightly different- In the remake, Magolor Soul throws down the enemies faster, its double slash when using its Dark Ultra Swords releases 10 stars (in the original it was 4), and its Dark Flare Beam attack has a slightly different pattern than in the original (look at the decoy ball in the original and the remake)
9: You may know that Magolor Soul is speaking out for help. According to the Kirby Wiki, he is saying “Kabii, Tasukete”, which in Japanese means “Kirby, help me.”
10: Magolor Soul’s death animation in the True Arena is heavily inspired by the original bad ending for Kirby’s Return to Dream Land- Magolor being banished from Another Dimension via an exit portal, with his mind, heart, and soul consumed by the Master Crown. Magolor pays for the sins of his past and his betrayal of Kirby, all because YOU didn’t collect all 120 energy spheres. The developers scrapped this ending because A- it was WAY too dark, almost as dark as Queen Sectonia or Pres. Haltmann. B- the developers felt that Magolor being freed from the Master Crown and forgiven for his misdeeds was critical for the story. (See Kirby Wiki for more detail)
11: One of the Waddle Dees is angry because one of his friends is on top of Metal General. He has an angry expression, and if you look long enough, he will throw a bit of a tantrum.
12: In the original game, King Dedede’s hammer flip move is slightly weaker than Kirby’s hammer flip. In the remake, at full charge, Dedede’s hammer flip is slightly stronger than Kirby’s hammer flip at full charge. But in both games, Dedede’s hammer flip does not have a fire effect, unlike Kirby. Combined with his Star Allies moveset, using King Dedede in the True Arena can help you set some records. (My record as of this comment is 15:48:05, but I digress)
13: Kirby Wiki points out that sometimes there are 3 doomers in the background when you are fighting 2 in the foreground, implying there are more than 4 Rampaging Doomers. I also believe the Crowned Doomer corrupted Ice Doomers to create the Rampaging Doomers, because they both have 5 tail feathers and can teleport.
14: The projectiles fired by the Crowned Doomer and the Rampaging Doomers, when inhaled, give you the Bomb Copy Ability, and so do the Gem Apples dropped by the Master Crown in its fight. Also, if you inhale its leaves when it does its homing leaf attack, it can give you the Leaf Copy Ability.
15: Meta Knight’s spin slash attack has a bat-effect, similar to the Meta Knight Sword Evolved Ability from Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
16: Whenever you get a Merry Magoland stamp ticket in Story Mode and Extra Mode, it makes the same sound effect as when you get a puzzle piece in Kirby Star Allies.
17: In the original game, if you went through a semi solid platform and then immediately turned into stone, you would rise ever so slightly and end up back on the platform. In the original, you would clip through the semi solid platform. This is probably to make the game less annoying.
Part 2:
18: When you enter a door in the hub worlds, the original tilts the camera downward as Kirby goes through the door. The remake just zooms in.
19: Merry Magoland has tons of references to the old games. One of Checkerboard Chase’s missions, “Adding Adeleine'' is a cutscene in Kirby 64, the “Old Friend” mask is a mask of Sectonia before she became the literal Queen Bee of Floralia in Kirby Triple Deluxe, “Extermination By Blaster'' from Booming Blasters was what it was called when playing as Susie in “Guest Star ????, Star Allies Go!” in Kirby Star Allies. I could go on and on, but I won’t.
20: Magolor Epilogue has many musical motifs to the main story- Green Winds (Arogree Dimension’s theme) is a remix of “Over the Hills” from W1-4, Red Sands (Pyred Dimension’s theme) is a remix of BOTH “ Sandy Wilds” from W2-1 and “Haldera Volcano” from W7-1,Blue Blizzard (Possiblu Dimension’s theme) is a remix of from W4-5, and Onward to a Pain My Heart knows well (Locandra Dimension’s theme) is a remix of the main theme of Magolor Epilogue.
21: The creepy, intense theme that plays before fighting Magolor Soul in the True Arena is called INTERNAL STRUGGLE, which obviously references Magolor struggling to control the limitless power inside the Master Crown.
22: It is heavily implied that Magolor Soul’s True Arena fight is “inspired” by the mods of the original game, such as “Kirby Revenge of Dream Land” and “Unfair Magolor Soul” (Look these up for reference)
23: The music that plays in the credits (Distant, Shining, Yellow Star) is a remix of “Planet Popstar”, and “Northeast Frost Street” from Kirby and the Forgotten Land
24: Magolor has some funny quotes and bad puns when you max out his stats in Magolor Epilogue (both before and after you fight the Rampaging Doomers)
25: Talk to Magolor 6-7 times in a row, Magolor will get annoyed with you. This is also the case for the Team Kirby Clash games, where Magolor will get annoyed if you talk to him 6-7 times without buying anything (this is more relevant than ever)
26: When the Crowned Doomer goes into its second phase in Magolor Epilogue, it destroys the Ethereal Altar. When it does, look to the right, and you will see one of the swords fall down into the rubble. Magolor then pulls this same sword out of the rubble to create his Ultra Sword. Also, once the Gem Apple Seed repairs the Ethereal Altar and takes off into space during the credits, that same sword is back on the wall. Just wanted to point out that the sword was there all along.
27: If you fail to protect the Magic Containers in Magolor Epilogue, it will trigger a MASSIVE explosion that will not only wipe out all the enemies on screen, but it will cost you ¼ of your health bar.
28: Kirby will automatically Super Inhale if you hold B for more than one second. Similarly, if you hold down B for around 1.5 second, Landia will automatically charge up into the Mega Blast (or whatever it is called)
29: If you don’t like mashing the joystick when doing quick-time events (swallowed by Whispy Woods or those eels, Mashing Kirby’s Ultra Sword into Traitor Magolor or Magolor’s Ultra Sword into the Master Crown), shaking the joy-con controllers can suffice, just like shaking the Wii remote in the original. Mashing the joystick and shaking the joy-cons at the same time can make those quick-time events that much quicker.
30: Traitor Magolor’s first theme, “Under My Control”, has been renamed “Welcome Your New Overlord”, which is the last thing Traitor Magolor said before heading into Another Dimension. Also, during the guitar solo, a second guitar part was added. It plays the same notes as the first guitar, just one octave lower.
31: The Elemental Boss Theme from Magolor Epilogue is a remix of the regular boss theme, but the opening notes are the same ones used at the beginning of Traitor Magolor’s first phase, just in the key of E instead of C. It’s true!
32: I found some interesting parallels regarding Magolor Epilogue: Electricky Dooter was made using electricity, Fiery Puffer using fire, and Hydriath using water and ice. There is an Electric Doomer, a Fire Doomer, and an Ice Doomer. There is no Water Doomer, but the Crowned Doomer uses water during its boss battle. Just some parallels I found.
33- Not only can you destroy Metal General’s giant rockets after enough hits, but when they target you, if you stand in the corner and inhale them, Kirby will actually swallow them!
34- Oddly, Kirby’s Warpstar has an outline when visiting Merry Magoland. The Warpstar doesn’t have cel-shaded graphics anywhere else.
I did this comment in 2 parts to avoid getting a "Returned Error", because it is so long. I also feel that you probably won’t make a video about this, because Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe came out more than a month ago, but at least consider it. (if you do, you don’t have to use all of these facts) It would be nice to give one last shoutout to this Kirby game before the pink puffball gets overshadowed by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Personally, I think Odyssey is a good game but I feel like it just got very repetitive after a while. I have gotten most of the moons but not all and I don't really think I am ever going to get the last few. I also definitely don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Super Mario 3D World. I feel like in the other 3D Mario games I mentioned, every level is unique and there are many more levels than kingdoms in Odyssey. Along with this, to me, Super Mario Odyssey is mainly a puzzle/strategy game and lacks a test of skill. 3D world and Galaxy definitely require more mechanical skill to progress. It of course is ultimately up to the players preference as to which type of playstyle they prefer though. I think because of this, Nintendo would rather make a game that requires more skill but also has an open world feel to it to get the best of both worlds. That seems difficult though.
I think that Cappy will come back in some way but probably not in any type of sequel.

It would be amazing for Super Mario Odyssey to have a sequel, the possibility with the captures and all that stuff could be a sequel itself. And in my opinion Super Mario Odyssey has the best and cleanest movement out of every 3D Mario game.
The reason 3D world never got a sequel was because it was a sequel lol. Mario 3D Land? Also, it did. get bowsers fury, and 64 got DS. Really it's only Sunshine.

I think having the framework of Bowser’s Fury (only bigger obviously) and having Cappy as maybe not the only but certainly the premier power-up would be the move. It doesn’t necessarily have to be called “Oddessey 2”. At the very least they need to keep Oddessey’s move-set
Cappy maybe is a one time thing, the thing captures are just cooler power ups. Due to how experimental rest of the odyssey is, I would think Cappy is testing the water for some interaction-based abilities, maybe controlling mechine or something.
After what nintendo went through developing smg2, it's just common knowledge that 3d mario games don't get sequels
I could go on and on about how many games I wanted to see sequels and successors of, with new takes on existing formulas rather than abandoning what worked and reinventing the wheel. I'm looking at you YIIK: A post modern RPG.
Zelda has been open world for a while, but only truly since Breath of the Wild. Kirby's breaking new bounds with it's 3D possibilities. Sonic even got himself an open world. I think Mario is very likely to be breaking into an open world sometime soon, maybe even with a BOTW-like map where all of the classing areas and themes are all over the world.

I think that cappy should remain in games (like a power up in certain areas/levels) but not in a seqeul. A bowsers fury type game with cappy as a Power Up would be cool, garenteed
I know I’m a year late for this but my idea for odyssey 2 would be to make the same cappy mechanics but with 3 new characters, such as Luigi/peach, wario, and waluigi. They could bring life to the game by having each character have their own special movesets for certain moons (or something new like suns!) Wario could be slower but have a super strong ground pound and fast roll, wario could throw cappy farther with his longer arms, Luigi or peach could jump higher or glide (Luigi could kick his feet for extra height and peach could glide with her dress), Mario would then be the all around character for speed and power, and so on.
It's possible they are working on Odyssey 2, but decided to hold off on announcing it until they get a definitive release window.
I thought Super Mario 3D World+Bowser's Fury would have added Mario the special ability of using Cappy,of course just as an attack instead of captures because items are in the game.

I wouldn’t count it out straight away. We’ve still got a couple more directs plus with the amount of craziness that’s happened over the past couple years (The Backstreet Boys Reunion Tour and such), it may not’ve been a fitting time to announce a sequel. I do believe we will get an announcement at some point soon. I mean c’mon, this is Nintendo’s most popular game on the Switch and is the bestselling 3D Mario game, a sequel is not a matter of if but when. A lot of people have been asking for a sequel for years and with the alludes of one coming soon, I think it’s too early to count out the possibility at all.
Virtually every 3D Mario game has received a sequel or remake of some kind up to this point (except for SMS because that didn’t sell too well thanks to the GameCube's low selling rates).
Honestly I don’t believe that Bowser’s Fury is a test for what’s next. The game is shown to be one big large world with the same overall core themes. Mario games have typically been known for their diverse themes and changing terrains so that would be a conflict of interest in that respect. Plus Super Mario Odyssey pretty much already had one big open world so they’d pretty much be doing the same thing. The only reason Bowser’s Fury was so big is because it’s just one world.
I personally believe there’s still more they could do with the capture mechanic and this could be explored upon in the sequel. Remember the late 2019 leak with Sonic Frontiers? Remember the hint email Nintendo dropped? It is very likely we may get a sequel at some point! 😁😁😁
The only 3 mainline games to not get a ‘sequel’ are Mario sunshine, Mario Odyssey, and Mario run.

After playing Mario Odyssey again, I kinda thought to myself that this was the true end of Mario. It’s not to say it is like the last we would see Mario but it’s like this was the game that just has everything to see and every time you play it just takes you back to where it all started and it’s just the endgame of the franchise. I will always remember everything I’ve had playing this game.

I wish they would just make Mario 4 already. Not Mario world, but real Super Mario Bros 4, with old school look and feel but with newer graphics and art style, and not just rehashed and overly smoothed out like the “new” series. It’s like I can see it in my head but hard to describe.

Nintendo has something big planned for Mario.. something that will build the same hype and feeling as Mario 64 and N64 when those launched. I have a feeling Nintendo will release a console powerful enough to rival or beat the PS5 in terms of power and graphics, and AAA titles like call of duty will be launched alongside it.

I honestly wish that the kingdoms were a lot larger. Most of them were pretty small or just as big as a past mario areas. The only reason why a playthrough takes longer than past mario games, is because of how many moons are crammed into the kingdoms. I honestly wish a grander sequel was released..... why do we always get 2 zelda games and only 1 mario per console?

I don't ever remember fighting a boss shy guy in Yoshi's Island, and I remember that Baby Bowser being on your back was only for the second last battle. I think Nintendo was focused more on the Mario movie which is why they haven’t announced more new first party games for this year. If you think about it. The Switch is still selling well, and the new system that people are referring to as the Switch Pro sounds more like a new hardware model like the DSI and New 3DS were.

At this point we know whatever Mario game they're working on, it's been in production for a while, so It seems like a pretty safe bet to say it'll be a release title for the new system Nintendo is working on, and will probably release 2024/2025. Heck, for all we know the game itself is finished and they're just holding it until the new system is ready to drop.
