Even if Nintendo is trying to forget Toadsworth, I'll never forget him. He's such a memorable character and plays a huge role in Peach's life, just as Kamek is to Bowser.
He isn't forgotten if he is in the concept art for the Movie. He was mentioned in a 2017-2018 Play Nintendo episode for Mario Reads your letters and appears on a Japanese Nintendo Kids site.
Toadsworth is as important as Kamek.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty strange how there was a blue Toad with glasses instead of Toadsworth in the film. Seemed like a missed opportunity to see the return of one who actually used to be a main character in the series.
Main character? He appears in one game out of over 20 mainline titles not even counting ports and remakes. He also does not appear in the Mario Kart or Mario Party series, the major spin-offs.
I am wondering if they will add the Toad General in the games. I think Toadsworth could be on a vacation on Isle Deflino and will be explained in the sequel, and he will play a supporting role.
I think it’s maybe because they decided to set this movie to the origin of Mario. By the same logic, it’s also a missed opportunity not to have captain toad instead of red toad. The red toad was the captain toad before he was captain and the blue toad is also toadsworth before he had the role of toadsworth.

Really weird that they would sack an character they made for main games, as they generaly do it to spin off or characters they didn't make, such as Bowser Kids and Geno

Toadsworth is one of the best examples of "take an existing Mario species and modify it to make a new character" Nintendo have ever done. He was important to Peach and worked well alongisde Toad and Toadette. Why Nintendo forgot about him I will never know, but I hold out hope he will return.
Also, how's E.Gadd doing? His appearance rate dropped after he was cut from Mario Kart DS and now he only appears when they make a Luigi's Mansion game.
He's probably gonna become Canon so we get the Luigi's mansion spin off for kids horror.
You forgot something, Toadsworth is in Super Mario 3D AllStars in the Sunshine port (unless you didnt count it as it was a port, but even then you said the dreamteam remake so kinda should count ports)

Quit being a boomer, I’m sure Toadsworth will eventually appear in a Mario movie sequel. I feel like Nintendo does still care about him, they’re just trying their best to include him in recent Mario games. Plus I feel like they’re just shelving Toadsworth for now because I think behind the scenes he probably was going to be in the film but they might’ve have trouble trying to find someone to voice him.

Was really weird seeing this new strange blue toad with glasses in the movie rather than Toadsworth. It was pretty disappointing not seeing him in the movie but hopefully he’ll appear in future games or movies cause he is an underrated character in the Mario universe. But until then, R.I.P Toadsworth 2002-2013. You will never be forgotten.

I guess they didn’t add him because he was more of peach’s protector.
I could very well see Toadworth being added in the sequel to the Mario movie, some good retconing can do wonders. Toadsworth could be the former king of the Mushroom Kingdom which explains why he wasn't present to see Baby Peach entering the Mushroom Kingdom. Toadsworth retires and hands the crown to Peach, and he is off travelling outside of the Kingdom during the events of the movie. So I could see them introducing him in the sequel and have Toadsworth be surprised to seeing Mario for the first time.

Unlike the games, Baby Peach never wore the crown.

My personal opinion is that maybe it’ll be revealed that Toadsworth is Peach’s caregiver/parent, no longer a young green Toad, just an old man now as Peach is older
My theory is that since the mario movie is the origin story the toad that replaced toadsworth is a younger version of toadsworth

Back in my day, before Nintendo buried old things and could do no wrong, we thought Toadsworth was the Chancellor from LotSS
Right? When I first saw Toadsworth in Sunshine, I thought it was a retcon/redesign of the Chancellor from Super Mario RPG, even though _the moustache and the mushroom hat are probably the only character traits the two share in common! (Their hat-spots aren't even the same color! X^D)_
Like, I thought maybe Square technically had the rights to the "Chancellor" character, so Nintendo was like, "this is actually a good idea for a character, but rather than get permission to use theirs, how about we make our own version?"
Petey Piranah was also one of the GameCube characters too. For awhile he was in everything and actually playable too.
Unlike Toadsworth, he still has a presence today. He's playable in Mario Kart Tour.

I’ve got a faded blue toadsworth jacket off of red bubble and now it feels like an even rarer treasure. He was one of my favorite characters throughout the GameCube Mario party era

Nintendo was not the only company who treated fan favorite characters as if they never existed. Mattel has done this to the Thomas & Friends universe but at a far worse extent than Nintendo.

I honestly feel like Nintendo has been cracking down on a lot of elements that debuted in Super Mario Sunshine. Isle Delfino doesn’t make as many prominent appearances anymore, remember how Petey Piranha disappeared for a few years before becoming a main character again, oh and remember how for six years, the Pokeys used to have flowers on their heads but now they don’t (which is a change I never liked) it seems they’re straying away from SMS elements as a whole which is kind of a shame.
Pokeys at times still have flowers such as the Lego set and Tower Power Pokey in Sticker Star used a flower hidden in it's crown to heal itself Yellow Pokeys have their spikes like in SMW. if anything using Green Pokeys from SMB2 with the flowers would be the best way to bring it back naturally. Sometimes Pokeys with flowers on their heads had inconsistent behavior such as being able to jump on them or not in various GCN-early Wii games.
I dont know why I always thought pokeys with flowers on their heads were female…
Toadsworth appeared in a mainline Mario game was New, Super Mario Bros on the DS and he should’ve been in the Movie
As a longtime Mario fan, I was really upset Toadsworth never made it to the Final cut. He would've added so much MORE to the Mushroom Kingdom and not only that his presence would've strengthened Princess Peach's character. A week after seeing the Mario Movie, I decided to write a story on my ColorNotes App titled: What if... Toadsworth were in the Mario Movie? I rewrote Peach's backstory by expanding it for 3 minutes and showing King Toadsworth be the ONE who meets Baby Peach and not some random Toads. Next, I wrote a ton of scenes showing their entire life together and it's really cute. Then I wrote Teenage Peach struggling and failing at becoming both a Warrior and a Princess, but with the help of Toadsworth's wisdom, knowledge and fatherly guidance she's able to succeed the training course. And lastly, I ended my re-write with Toadsworth sadly passing away from old age after knighting Peach as Princess.
If what I wrote were in the movie, dishabille surprisingly emotional for audiences and kids.
But this, THIS would have worked.

His name is Toadbert, he has appeared in Mario & Luigi Bowser’s inside story, although they changed his mushroom 🍄 from white with blue spots to blue with white spots. And in Super Mario Galaxy 🌌 1 and 2 as one of Captain Toad’s crew, and in the first level of Captain Toad Treasure tracker. And 185th comment.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Toad General was created to be a "modern IP compliant" version of Toadsworth. They haven't used Toadsworth in any new media since Dream Team because they decided to more rigidly define the traits a Toad can and can't have, and a mustache is among the "can't have" traits. They also seem to be against any female Toads outside Toadette (which was also in the same piece of concept art that featured Toadsworth for the movie, there was both Toadette and another female Toad)
So ever since Dream Team, Toadsworth has only survived in Smash cameos and remakes/ports (ie the M&L remakes and Sunshine being in 3D All-Stars). This exception for remakes also explains why the Chancellor still exists in the SMRPG remake despite being a totally foreign thing to how Nintendo treats Toads in modern games. It seems the only place these unique Toads can exist anymore is in the original stories that had them in the past. It really sucks but I have literally no better explanation for why they'd have Toadsworth in the concept art, but a "Not Toadsworth" in the movie itself.
