I met JD and spent an afternoon with him in Oklahoma City like 26-27 years ago. I worked for a wedding chapel and JD was part of make a wish foundation. A couple that was getting married had a son with leukemia who requested JD to be his new daddy’s best man. We all sign disclaimers and stayed quiet with the media. He came in on Saturday and spent the whole afternoon with the couple. He even went out of his way to speak to each of us that worked the wedding. He acted as though my little life mattered. He was kind, very gentle and respectful. When he found out the couple wasn’t going on a honeymoon because of medical expenses. jD would not let it go. He flew this couple any where they asked to go and paid every dime of the honeymoon. He paid the medical bills and took the boy in his limo to Toys R Us and let the boy buy whatever he wanted. I feel in love that day with this fantastic human being. I do not believe the lies she is telling

Officer Melissa Saines is a star! She is the most damning witness against Amber Heard in this trial. Her professional, straightforward candor about what she observed that night, added to the fact that she is a neutral witness when she says she did not deem Ms Heard to be a victim and her face was red from crying supported Johnny's version of No violence against Heard, no destruction to the premises that night. No one really cared that she would punch me slap me kick me scream in my face throw things at me and degrade me because she is a woman. And of course I never reported her as a man and a protector one it would be embarrassing to ask for help because a woman is hitting you into having the police take my daughters mother to jail would of been very difficult for my daughters to see you. I did call the police on her three times because she wouldn’t stop hitting me but I never told them she was hitting me I just told them that she was out of control. I know I didn’t handle it right I just try to not let my three daughters see how out of control their mother was so I am also guilty of making excuses for her it’s amazing how much abuse a person will take oddly enough you just kinda get used to it as a man And try to live your life the best you can until you can be free of it.

I worked for a company here in Canada that specialized in providing security services for special celeb & political events back in the late 80’s & 90’s. Although I met several celebs while working during press junkets, (premiere events, etc), I unfortunately never had the privilege of meeting Johnny during any of the ones he attended at the time - but I must say that (especially when compared to the way many of the celebrities treated the “hired help”), I was able to personally observe a massive difference when it came to Mr. Depp in comparison to many other well-known celebs re: how he acted & spoke to the people around him.
He was always incredibly kind, polite and patient to everyone around him, and refused to allow any strong-arming or bullying towards anyone, staff or fan, by his private security or PA’s (which happens much more often at these sorts of things than most folks probably realize). It never comes as a surprises me to hear from people that he’s continued to be this way but I am always so glad to hear or read the same from someone who actually knows him.
Mr. Depp has always seemed (to me) to be a kind & decent man, and tbh I’ve felt at a gut level right from the start that AH’s claims were complete nonsense. It also didn’t surprise me to find out she was the abuser, not the victim - I haven’t worked in security or frankly in any capacity in this area of work for quite some years now, but still have friends who do. Although most are very careful to stick to the industry standard re: privacy/confidentiality, word can (and generally does) eventually filter out within the community when it comes to those with a history of being problematic at events - particularly when it means they’ll likely require special handling. AH apparently has earned herself quite the reputation of being difficult & at times even downright abusive towards both those working directly for her or behind the scenes at events she’s attended in the past (ie: other celeb PA’s, booking staff, security, catering, etc).

Hearing " Amber Heard killed Jack Sparrow" My heart broke even more for the loss that we all as a whole generation have faced at the mere accusations of this "irredeemable liar." And that's not even including Johnny having had a part of himself (He has said multiple times in the past how he puts parts of himself into all of his characters, like other actors too) murdered, his reputation trashed and his family facing the backlash of this clustershow.

My brother endured abuse from his girlfriend without hitting back a single time. His reason for staying with her was because she was "so beautiful." Eventually they moved out together because my mom couldn't handle her physically abusing him in her house anymore. Ultimately they split up after they both cheated on each other, I believe.
Just because a girl is beautiful, that does not give her license to hit you.

If the lawsuit is about defamation then demonstrating that he wasn't the abuser is obviously significant, but it's not crazy to bring the issue back to what she actually said. I was talking to my mother about the trial and her response was "Wow, what kind of a man get's hit by his wife?". And after she saw how visibly upset I was, I explained the entire situation and how this has been happening since the dawn of time, but men are shamed and ashamed of ever talking about it. The entire thing is a contradiction in logic. Amber Heard is arguing that Johnny abused her and that the opinion piece she wrote about being abused was not about Johnny. Its obvious that the lawyers play is trying to prove abuse therefore meaning the article was not defamation because it was true, and if that fails that the article was not about Johnny therefore it isn't defamatory, but the play is so obviously conniving that any normal person immediately senses something off about the entire thing and automatically dislikes Ambers lawyers. She would have been far better off completely abandoning the claim that Johnny abused her and therefore the article could obviously not be about him and people completely misinterpreted it. At the very least it would have saved her 50 mill. She looks like a robot acting like a human, whereas Johnny just comes off as a bro.

People tend to forget that being a lawyer doesn't always mean defending your client. Most of the time, it's all about winning the case. Whether it's a truth or lie, as long as you can hide it well enough, it can become a lethal weapon. It's plainly obvious that Amber's lawyer is trying to play the winning game.

Society needs this, men needs this, it's important that the internet realizes that women are, in the first place, people, and are capable of all of the horrible things people do such as abuse and difamation. Unfortunately, internet social justice has put even a wider gap between men and women under the guise of equality, portraying us women as victims and men as perpetrators instead of considering us all equally capable humans

Very well said. I have always tended to support/believe women who claim abuse, I think we are conditioned to do so, yet interestingly, the first victim i ever met of domestic abuse was a man. At the time I thought it was a very rare aberration, but time has taught me that it is far from rare.

      Not, “he’s a man he’s considered stronger”.
I’ll tell you right now my gf would be able to beat my butt.
Simply because I’m the man I’m supposed to be the aggressor/ stronger one.
That’s just not how it works we are all humans.

Johnny’s name was not on the op-ed. It didn’t have to according to Virginia state defamation law. Why do you think Johnny wanted to file his lawsuit in Virginia? Mr Rottenborn was hoping the jurors were not aware of this fact. Judge Azcarate pointed the defamation law during the trial. She made it clear a name does not have to be printed/included in an libel case.
