I hiked the great wall. Very impressive to see first hand.
Manchus and Mongolians came over one thousand years later. He would have been trying to prevent the Xiongnu (Huns in the west) from raiding China.

The Wall was functional to delay invasion, but since there are missiles, became something like the Egyptian Pyramid, sighting seeing..
Foundation of the Wall is said to have children buried under it, the bricks used by insitu mixing earth, and, the joining technique used no reinforcement, using blood mixed with sticky rice..the joints formed are strong, no collisions, the technique is unique, better than any even today!

Not massive/wide enough, length doesn't do the trick.
1. No, it was always space. 2. No, you cannot see from space, at least from ISS and higher.
Which depending on your definition of "outer" space, even the ISS is *TECHNICALLY* touching/inside one of Earth's highest atmosphere levels, or at least I remember reading that somewhere, might've been about something else, like that dude who "jumped from space" from some hot weather ball on in a space suit, I know his feat is debated on that technicality.
