Talking Cars in a Kia Seltos 1.5 petrol IMT

- The Seltos is the only car in its class to offer an IMT - a clutchless manual. Interestingly it is a model that is offered in MT, IMT and CVT variants all paired to the same 1.5 litre petrol engine.. If you don't want to deal with a clutch pedal but don't have the budget for a full-fledged automatic, this is a very good alternative - Cheaper than an CVT and more fun than an AMT.
The best part is, it costs a little under 15 lakhs - the same money as the top of the line variants of most sub 4 metre SUVs.

@@TalkingCars Bro,I would like to share one point.The new 1.5L BS6 VTVT engine is a good one from previous 1.6 VTVT as you've said.Also,quality wise it's better than the old one.The new 1.5 BS6 Petrol comes with high quality IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS from Hyundai.
The replacement interval for Spark plugs were at 60,000kms before and that were normal type spark plugs.But now the new IRIDIUM ones,have got a replacement interval of 1,60,000kms which is a significantly large interval when compared to BS4 one's 60,000kms interval.
The IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS are expensive than normal ones but it gives better sparking and that adds to the performance.

Drove Seltos with this 1.5l engine recently and was surprisingly good. Great drivability and felt nice for highway cruising

Nice presentation. Liked it very much. Accidentally i watched it with earphones. Stereo effect is good. But the sound came left and right swapped. May be you didn't notice that. I mean, we can see JD in the left side of our screen even though he is in the right seat of the car, and his audio is coming from the right speaker. If you don't get what i mean, please watch it wearing headphones properly. Said this as a suggestion to make your videos more perfect. Please don't take it as a fault finding

I was eagerly waiting for this review to be out. For the past few weeks I been planning on buying this exact model since this one strikes a good balance between the cost and the features it offers. I was extremely happy to see this video as you folks always provide genuine usability feedback.

@@bennythogmail I booked the car in last September from Incheon Kia, Edapally. They said there's a waiting period of 3-4 months so I am eagerly waiting for the delivery. I'll let you know once I receive it.

@@bennythogmail I got my car by mid of January and it's been a fun ride since then. Ride and handling is really nice, comfort is great, under thing support could have been better, sun roof is a value add for kid's. Sales & service is extremely good. They take customer feedback quite seriously.
Hyundais progress through the years has been amazing and Kia has come in as the best version of Hyundai.
Engines have really improved, the old 1.6 were not efficient nor fast this new 1.5 NA looks a far more usable engine.
This particular variant is a real pebble among the sand. For the pactical Joe look nowhere in this price range !

How much average mileage you are getting ?
@@jenokumaradas max i got was 17.8( in meter) after traveling continues 620 km, from Vellore to palai, highway speed was around 110-130 km/hr till Coimbatore and in 60-80 from Palakkad onwards.

@@Sandra-ku3ko Mine is 1.5L NA petrol imt same as in this review. Which is pre-facelift. No issues until now. Now imt comes only in Turbo petrol.

Very true, here in Dubai Kia has moved from being absolute value vehicles to well made and designed cars. Genesis is now seen as a genuine luxury car too.

HTK plus automatic is without descent control, can drive +- while driving down in hill area.

S cross Zeta or Venue SX Diesel?. I love driving. Current car is swif zxi 2014. Done 105000 km. Or suggest me any car under 12 L on road.
That diesel engine in the venue is pure bliss.But scross offers more space.Venue will have better handling and fuel economy,fit and finish.
Tough choice but I will take the venue just for the engine and it's fuel economy.
Finally booked this same variant. There is a few more changes to the current version. Bye bye elite i20. Excited and waiting to get my hands on this new machine soon.

Seltos htx ivt variant oru video ചെയ്യാമോ. Is it smooth to drive. You mentioned something about rubber band effect in cvt. Is the effect so worse? Is it good for city drive? Am a lady and my drives are only in city. Nearly 10 km drive per day only.

So on a hill descent, does it auto-switch to neutral from a higher gear to prevent stalling if the speed is too low? That's a safety concern right. Unless the vehicle is equipped with hill-hold assist and it's in fact turned on.

Dear JD/Vivek, could you help me make a choice on Seltos Automatic transmission. Average travel per month: 1000 to 1200kms. Would it be better to go for the Diesel Automatic or Petrol Automatic. Too many variants and its a bit confusing for a normal buyer like me. Kindly advise.
