Windows 95 allowed users to delete "Windows" folder. One day my cousin wanted to add more space to his HDD to be able to install more games. So he basically deleted "unnecessary" Windows folder. That was the last time we saw this computer turned on.
msfan1292 I had my first PC from 2000 to 2006 or so and it ran Win 98SE. Then I got a new PC that ran Win XP and I used that until about 11 months ago. haha Now I have Windows 7 and 8.1 will have to earn the right to run in my office. I would love to build a tower and load 98 back up. Its been a while since I've created DOS partitions, formatted drives etc, and then painstakingly configured the damn dial up adapter that never accepted its drivers the first time! haha
Evatron Because before Windows 95 they had names like Windows 1, 2, ... . 95 was made in 1995 and for some reason they named it After the year. In 2009 after Windows Vista they continued with the names before 95.
Windows lost its battle to android in the mobile arena, and was desperate to survive on desktop, hence the android-like design and forced updates that works like a nazi on pc
Wow, that Windows 95 intro jingle makes me feel SO nostalgic right now. Man....old times. Gonna go find that sound after I'm done watching this video, lol.
Cloaked One .-. when vista was out ahhhhhh but i was using vista while all where using windows 7 XD but can it be???? that.....oh yhea i threw my vista away horyyayyyy *not*
I would like you to choose some recommendations of which unsupported Windows versions you want to see next year! Just reply and I will see if it is possible. Maybe.... Windows 1.0/.1 as it is 30 years old next year!
Ahhh the memories! I can still remember when I had my very own PC running at an amazing clock speed of 40Mhz...I think I had 8MB of memory at the time...LOL.
Windows 95 was so huge (revolutionary) back in the day, I also remember not having enough hard drive space to install it and then the hard drive crashed after a couple attempts.
CZcams will not work on Windows 95 because of Adobe Flash issues. However, last year - you could still watch videos. However, the video controls did not show because Flash and the browser were too old. I have a video of that.
***** ***** CZcams HTML5 will not work with Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP RTM, XP SP1 or XP SP2. As well as this, the Adobe Flash version of CZcams was much better.
Hard to swallow it's been over 19 since Windows 95 came to our homes and hearts... harder still is the fact ol' 95's gonna turn 20 by 2015. Fitting remix in celebration of this fact.
I always felt like my 90s was wasted due to circumstances that was beyond my control, I ground my good memories on things like these, knowing that at least something is worth remembering even with its ups and downs, anything post win 7 isn't worth remembering for me anymore, I even tried to revert back to classic themes to my os/apps whenever I can
My first computer had Windows 3.1 and it served its purpose and it was all I knew. Then in high school my best friend got a new Compaq PC that came preinstalled with Windows 95 and to me, it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. It had all these textures, colors, sounds, videos, options and programs that just blew me away. I couldn't keep my hands off his computer haha!
Mine is windows XP. But because of it not being supported any more and not as many compatible apps nowadays, I'm pretty much being made to use windows 7 and 8.1
+Vegard Fjeldberg If youre talking about the style, you can use the Win95/98 style in most modern WinOSs. Of course you can remove any stupid program from the main Start Menu and make that thing less saturated and more clean.

I used to get so excited from computer tower finds at the local goodwill Clearance outlet circa 2000 to 2004. my first pc was a Presario 166mmx. in 2000. I stared at it with glee.
In preschool, I used to think that the background photo with the grass was taken by my preschool teacher because it was one of the first computers i've ever been introduced to.
I owe my interest and knowledge about computers to this OS. Windows 95 was the first OS I learned how to physically install myself, and through it, I learned how to build PCs altogether.
I was lucky enough to miss Windows 95. By the time I was fed-up with Windows 3.1, I was ready to buy a new computer with Windows 98 pre-installed. That was 5 computers ago.
