In less than 15 minutes, what would you have done differently? Check for the tools and products in description box!
I have done this many times over the years. I like to use Meg's 105, and
then use Menzerna 2500, then wax. I have tried 3000 grit paper, but as
you know, we have to be very careful using sandpaper on damaged paint.
nice beautiful
I would have gone straight to compunding.
Hey bro will y reccomend onr as a clay lube i have never use it
i go with laquerthiner in 5 secod is done .
Great vid Oscar. I have used WD40 and that worked great for me. I guess there are several things you can try. It’s great that you ask your viewers what have they tried in the past. Never stop learning brother. Love your podcast.
people don't realize that WD40 is a solvent, so yes it can work on stuff like this. remember, though, that it's very strong... so don't damage your paint and try to apply your solvent exactly only where the added material is and don't let it drip because it could strip off layers of your car's precious protective layers and cause things to rust! i'm going to try vinegar baking soda first because i am afraid of damaging my auntie's paint unnecessarily, if it doesn't work, i'll try WD40 like you're saying, and if that doesn't work, we'll go for the commercial gunk because it takes travel time, gas and lots of rigamarole where we live.
Nice work and realizing where you must stop. I hope the customer was happy because you gave great results
Magic Eraser works perfect too. That’s my go to everytime
Great job on explaining how to do this. I will be copping this on a project at home cleaning my jet ski.
I use carbuerator cleaner and a microfiber towel and it works great. comes off in seconds and then I follow up with polish. I have been using this process for years in my business and no harm to the paint.
Great detailed video but what can I do in Crete Greece?
What is the name of the first liquid you sprayed for cleaning
Good.job.
Only step I use it a microfibre cloth and a little compound. If it's just paint transfer, I find machine polishing is overkill
Thank you so much man
You're welcome!
worked at a body shop for years to get paint to come off easy WD40 then paint correct
I think there is a bug with your website, its not allowing me to download the full guide that you offer.
Did you check your spam folder? If not there, shoot me an email to oscar(at)detailgroove(dot)co
U can also try magic eraser and follow by compound
For paint transfer absolutely use citrol. Takes 30 seconds. Will wipe right off just wash immediately after.
Would meguiars ultimate polish work by hand
It should
Nahh man try Lacquer thinner first and it will get you straight to polishing I use it for tree sap and tar too. It will remove any waxes or sealants yess and depending on the towel and pressure it might scratch a little yes but we are there to detail the car I’ll take care of it before I go. Just try it it’s at homedepo. Yet good results with what you did.
How much for this service
It was for a friend so free99. For a customer, $30
How much did you charge for this work?
Free99 :)
If she had a touch up pen that would take care of the missing paint on the plastic bumper.
I like these odd jobs. Probably high profit to time spent ratio!
Acetone takes care of that in seconds, then after that you can polish the car.
If none of this method he mention works try using sand paper follow by compound polish
Mahalo / thanks!
