    I have your tunes all emissions intact of course. 2011 LML with your 520 pack . Just the other day I contacted you guys through EZlynk. After talking about certain things they said get some Data logs and send them to us . So I said what the Hell I will do all 5 tunes . Keep in mind they wanted Data logs from 30-70 mph full throttle. After doing all 5 tunes at full throttle from 30-70 soot went up from 17g to 28g . That’s average of 2.2 g . Guys that’s awesome and this was a great test as to what your claiming in this video. In my case it’s right in the money. Just wanted to share with you.

By the time the warranty is done the damage is done your bearings have been bathing in soot you should see the difference between a deleted and non delete engine after 200 000 .but I do agree trucks are expensive I thought I would leave mine stock to until it was in the garage more then the road .

      Love to buy new. Actually now is probably a good time for a GM. The 2019 prices should drop since the 2020 is unveiled. A Denali DRW (ours is SLT DRW) is $73k with a couple options which I like. Can't afford it right now. If a equivalent SLT DRW is mid-low $60k's and there's substantial money off for model clearance...maybe able to do it

    • @Duramaxtuner
      @Duramaxtuner  Před 5 lety

      It really depends on what is more important to you, power or comfort. If you want a nasty power number that is street driven, I might look at an older truck. If you can live with 500-550 RWHP with all the comforts of a new truck then go with a 2013 or newer.

    I know this is an olderish video, so it might not be seen, but Im curious to know if there has been any more advancements in tuning to get an even lower soot accumulation percentage consistently? Like has there been tests where 0% accumulation is being achieved through multiple runs, in a stock power configuration or even a higher configuration?

    • @Duramaxtuner
      @Duramaxtuner  Před rokem +1

      Tuning is maintaining this level despite the horsepower increases. Maybe one day we will see a 0% with enhanced performance-minded DPFs in the future.

    I'm new to diesel's, so how do you clean the soot from your exhaust system if it's clogged? Pull it apart?

    • @SirMagicK
      @SirMagicK Před 5 lety +4

      The soot is collected in the diesel particulate filter (dpf). When the soot reaches a high level it triggers a cleaning process called regen. All modern emissions systems now have a 9th injector that sprays fuel and diesel exhaust fluid (def) into the dpf chamber. The heat from the exhaust causes the fuel to self ignite and converts the def fluid into ammonia that binds with the soot and burns it off converting the waste into harmless nitrogen and water out the tailpipe. The process takes a while (20+ minutes) and after it's complete you're dpf filter is clean. If the dpf gets completely clogged (usually causes by a bad temp sensor or failed 9th injector) the dpf chamber has to be cut out and cleaned manually. Most diesel mechanic shops have a set price service for cleaning clogged dpf filters.

      Short Answer, it's always worth it to tune it. With our tuning we can confidently say the calibration is not going to cause increased soot production. As far as deletes, that is not something we support.

I currently have a stock lml with a few upgrades as suggested by most (s&b intake, lift pump, etc) but get poor mileage and regen about every 200 miles (daily driver, commute is some highway some town driving). Any thoughts or suggestions on how that can be tested/adjusted/improved??? Would you be able to look at the data from my truck and apply corrections with your tunes? Thanks again!

      Same boat here. LML, 166k, daily driver.....I get 13.2mpg on the DIC and close to 15+/- mpg on the DIC on trips. Mostly stock except AFE drop-in filter, PCV bypass. Lift Pump is next. Regen is less miles on mine...like 186

    • @chrismiller1919

      Had a 2013 LML tuned with Duramaxtuner...drove it 85k miles compliant on their tunes with no issues. Traded it in on a 2016 and bought their tunes again. Currently 72k miles on this one...again no issues. Truck regens about every 500 miles. Only other mod is a lift pump. Clean reliable power.
