Every time I listen to Pentatonix I feel they just keep getting better and better! You haven't yet reacted to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Havana". Also go back to see their performances on the U.S. TV competition show "The Sing Off" where PTX won in 2011. This will give you some history of where they came from.
If you want great symbolism , Happy Now. That song has become my anthem. With my husband's death, I always wondered about me moving on and living my life. I happened on to Happy Now by accident. Something in that song touched me so much, it took listening and watching it several times before I understood. Just what God or fate whoever made it possible to see this! I can tell you now, I am as happy as I can be without my other half of 44 years. I thank the heavens above for these wonderful people.

Hello G.O.T., Thanks for this one. All five of them are just superb. You are right, every time there is something new, something different, something excellent, in every song that they do. Kevin with all those sounds. How does he do it? Mitch singing is spot on, as always, with the notes that he hits and holds. Love that you said that his voice should be kept safe as it is a planetary treasure. How perfect. Glad that you spotted the symbolism. PTX music videos are always intentional. BTW - PTX is playing two nights in the UK in May 2023, one night already sold out so you have to hurry if you want to get a ticket. See you on the live stream!

I have been lucky enough to see them live twice. Once was a regular concert, one was a Christmas concert. It is amazing. They sound the same live as on a recording.

These 6 people have earned everything they've got. After being dropped by the record label after their win, they could've given up but they didn't, after Avi left they could've disbanned. That's why they love their fans and with them, what you see is what you get. I've seen/met them 3 times and they have to be some of the most humble, down to earth artists I've ever met. If you ever get a chance to see them, make sure you do the VIP experience, the extra money is worth every cent 😁
the end of the video always gets me, when they're dressed down and they sing "we're bigger than we've ever dreamed"; I always get hella chills. I've seen their entire Sing-Off journey and seeing where they've come and where they are now, it's amazing how much this message truly means. I love your reactions to PTX so much! ❤️

I would love to hear your thoughts on their upgrade of Gold by Kiiara. It really focuses on Mitch’s vocal cords being made of bungee cords! Her version relies on mechanical intervention…their version is a one-take live couch session. Avi and Kevin shine in this one. BUT before you listen to PTX’s upgrade, listen to Kiiara’s so you can compare. You’ll quickly realize what us Pentaholics call as NO CONTEST!!!

If you want to see a live video from them I highly recommend you watch the Aha!, Singapore, The Star Vista video. It is pretty much the video that fans agree is their best live performance. Please please please give it a watch!!!

SO SO glad you reacted to this one. It's one of my favorites with Mitch carrying the performance. And his grin with "And I'm in love with being queen" BECAUSE HE IS! I agree with that last bit of symbolism of them being bigger than they ever dreamed. Just wonderful.

Love your PTX reactions - I always watch out for them. I really recommend some of their live pieces - try Gold - Mitch is insane on that one, or one of their originals - Sing, or Run to you are both excellent. Others have recommended their Evolution ones too. Definitely try those. Tbh they're all incredible!

I know it is a Christmas song, but Pentaholics don’t care what time of year it is when we hear one of their Christmas songs. Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee, live is amazing. I saw them live for their Evergreen Christmas tour last Dec. They ended with that song. OMG! You have to hear and see the performance. It will blow you away. Love your reactions!

I have lived through a ton of different musical artists and many of them I followed through a few years but I have never followed any of them for as long as I have followed PTX. Over ten years and never being disappointed by anything they have done. Watching you react to their music fills me with joy! Great reaction again!

When I saw this, I knew you would love the ending. I agree that most a cappella groups sound like a group of people singing at the same time but Pentatonix is a unified sound.
Before I retired from teaching, my students would ask what kind of music I listened to and I would reply Pentatonix. They’d say ok, but what else. I would respond Pentatonix. We would go back and forth a couple of times before they’d say “so you only listen to Pentatonix?” Pretty much. I throw in a Home Free and Voiceplay from time to time, an occasional Superfruit but pretty much PTX.

LOVE AGAIN! Their original song from back when they released Daft Punk medley. They were inspired to do their own EDM song that kills...especially in headphones.

I've seen them 3 times live, 2 with Avi 1 with Matt. It is definitely something special- because of the diversity of the group everyone feels welcome.

I think what you’re trying to say is that their sound is so well distributed and spot on that you don’t feel like anything is lacking, something we are unaccustomed to without additional instrumentation beyond the human voice. We forget they are acapella while listening because they are fully filling the roles normally taken by instruments. But the truth is that there are very few instruments out there that can even begin to approach the range of texture and expression of human vocals.
Your excitement is contagious. I takes me back to when I first saw this video. And yes, you definitely need to see them in person and if you can afford it, go for the VIP experience. It is so amazing to meet them. They are warm, genuine and humble people with amazing humor. The private song is intimate and special. You get your picture taken with them and then the energy when they start the concert is electric. Must must must do!

Something I want to mention is Mitch owning being a "queen" in this video. He was bullied in school and to see him standing up in this video and owning his individuality is inspiring. This goes back to when they were a finalist in the Sing-Off show on NBC. On the show all the finalists got to support a charity. PTX chose The Trevor Project. It is an USA based organization to help LGBTQ schoolchildren that are bullied. The Trevor mentioned was a child who committed suicide due to said bullying. NBC decided to "sanitize" any reference to the organization's LGBTQ focus on the show only allowing mention of general bullying really taking away from the message PTX was trying to spread. So I love how in this video he says "I'm here and I am queer" and you're just going to have to deal with it.
I have fond memories of the first time I heard them do this song. I think it was about the second time I'd heard them, and the one, previous song of theirs I'd heard before this one didn't feature any solo singing from Mitch. So when he came in with his solo vocal at the beginning I was really confused - I genuinely thought "Is he lip-syncing to the girl's voice?" And then Kirstie appeared from behind him, doing her harmony, and I realised it *couldn't* be her singing that lead vocal - it HAD to be Mitch. And I just went "DAAAAAAMMMMNNNNN, that guy's GOOOODDD!!!"
Next recommendatiom? Hmmm, which to choose? For covers, if you want something different (and that shows off their rapping skills - yep, they can do that too!) you could try their cover of Macklemore's 'Can't Hold Us.' They've also done a-maz-ing covers of 'Blinding Lights,' 'When The Party's Over,' 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight.' For their original songs, there's 'Love Again,' 'Coffee In Bed,' 'Love Me When I Don't,' 'Happy Now...'

I second that suggestion. It's just the five of them crammed into what looks like the corner of a closet, with a 40-watt light bulb and barely enough room to keep from elbowing each other in the face...and still it's the stuff of dreams.

This was a first time listening for me, too, @G.O.TGames- I love watching them dance around each other in order to feature one sound or a couple singers. That singularity of the group wanting to highlight their highlights is so rounded out in this song.
