It was Friday on my lunch break when I called the National Forest Service Office in Cass County. They informed me the Wood Tick Trail was open to vehicles under a 4-ton axel weight. With that being said, I still found the road to be in poor condition. There was a point when I thought the camper was going to fall out!
I actually found this campsite by watching CZcams. I first saw Eric camping here about 5 years ago and more recently Murry was here trying to catch a few trout. I'll have to watch that one again. He may have been with Mav, they go fishing together a lot.
There was a bit of disappointment when I arrived and found the campsite was occupied. I had to drive into the campsite to turn around, so I was able to talk with the camper. He was a really cool guy. He explained he was leaving early the next morning. He said it would be ok if I set up camp next to him because it was getting dark. That was really cool of him to offer, but I found a spot not to far away. The following morning, I checked back at the campsite, and he was gone. He was the only person I saw all weekend.
I had a great time at this campsite. The views from the walking trials were beautiful. I hope you enjoy this spot.

I discovered you a few months back and quickly subscribed. I love the calmness of your videos. I can't drive anymore, so I live vicariously through channels like this. I just appreciate how you can not get the spot you want. Can't have a fire. Can't fish. Yet you are still so positive and just happy to be in the woods. I used to camp at least once a month, and I'm going next month for my birthday for the first time since I lost the ability to drive. I'm so excited. Thank you for the content and positivity. It truly is rare in today's crazy world. Keep it up!!!

I found your channel a year ago and watch pretty regularly as I find the content engaging and comfortable to watch.. I am originally from the great state of MN.. I grew up and spent a lot of time at my grandparents home in Elbow Lake.. I do have several family members that live in Brainerd as well..

You're a wise man Kenny, I would HATE to be the reason for a forest fire starting because I didn't pay attention to the winds. Good decision! Toby is just TOO adorable! 🤩There are minor setbacks like not getting the spot you wanted on the first try, winds not cooperating with outdoor cooking plans or technical issues with the lights. I appreciate that you don't let the 'small' stuff get to you, and you just enjoy what you got. Love it! 👍

Always great videos and a great way to wined down. In regards to your brake lights. It's probably the brake switch just above the brake peddle. Mine would go out of adjustment and would need to be reset. If lifting the peddle up makes the lights go out, adjust the switch, it's quite simple and seldom do you need tools. Thanks again for taking the time to make great videos and bringing us along!

I've been recognized a couple of times over the years. I don't have too many locals that watch the channel. I don't get recognized much in Brainerd. But you're right. The truck stands out on the road.

Just got done watching Larry’s latest video! I think you got me to his channel. I love watching him and Mason! He is just like you, downed to earth, and just a very calming video. I can’t wait to get a truck camper. For now, the wife wants a fifth wheel to see the west when I retire. Which is 5 yrs. She is 9 yrs older than me. So, I will go see Alaska, Canada, Arctic Ocean and Baja California to Cabo in my truck camper when we part, one way or the other.
Thank you for another wonderful adventure in the woods. When I saw your eggs I remembered years ago when we had chickens we had Ameraucana chickens. They lay the pale bluish green eggs. People who don't know about chickens, find it hard to believe they are just eggs, but pretty on the outside.
They really are. That catron of eggs would have made for a pretty photo.

Wouldn't that be a hoot. I thought when I started the channel, no one would want to watch a guy with a Minnesota accent who is always saying stuff backwards. I figured the channel would get a few hundred subscribers at best. Instead, I found a community of people who love the serene beauty of our forests as much as I do. The one thing I love about CZcams is all the regular people sharing parts of their life. So many channels are hosted by normal humble folks, not the crazy elite world of Hollywierd.

You are right. I need to bring that back out of the closet. I might do that this weekend. I requested off on Friday. It hasn't been approved yet. If it does, I'll have an extra day in the woods. I could make something quick and easy in the air fryer on Friday.

I agree, the wind is my least favorite to be out camping in. I can make do in snow rain, heat, just not that darned wind!

Good seeing you and Toby out bonding. I was able to do some work on camper today since my brain fog let up. Packed 4 sets of wheel bearings and flushed hot water heater. Little more to do then inspection. Keep safe and God Bless
