CIA Agent Matt Graver is brought in to meet with a suspected terrorist smuggler named Bashiir (Faysal Ahmed from Captain Phillips), whom Matt believes brought in the guys responsible for the store bombing. Matt demands Bashiir to give up the names of his employers, or an airstrike will take out his home with his family inside. Bashiir fails to give up any information, and Matt forces him to watch as the airstrike kills his brother.

What’s the movie Sicario: Day of the Soldado about?
A suicide attack kills 15 people in a Kansas City supermarket. The investigation concludes that the suicide bombers were aided by human smugglers on the U.S.-Mexico border, a region in the hands of drug traffickers. On missions in Djibouti and Somalia, Matt Graver (Josh Brolin from Hollow Man and Avengers) is again sent to the region, on a mission orchestrated in the shadows by the CIA. Matt once again calls upon Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro from Traffic and 21 Grams), the criminal with whom he fought the Juárez cartel. Under the unofficial orders of the Secretary of Defense, Matt must create a war between the cartels so that they destroy themselves. After murdering a Matamoros gang lawyer in Mexico City, Gillick and Matt kidnap Isabela (Isabela Merced from Transformers: The Last Knight), the daughter of cartel leader Carlos Reyes, in a false flag operation. However, things don't go as planned and Gillick soon finds himself alone fighting for his and Isabela's survival, abandoned by the U.S. government and hunted by the Mexican cartels. Isabela Reyes is finally found and taken back by Matt Graver who brings her back to the United States by helicopter. She becomes protected by the witness protection law. She thus escapes the planned massacre of the total cleanup in Mexico that was previously ordered by the CIA to Matt Graver and his task force.

Total coldness and matter-of-factness in his voice, like he is more concerned about some bystander than the other one... To fight terrifying men you need the most horrible ones

What I love about this scene is in how Brolin portrays his actions with a certain nonchalance. His characters entire attitude is almost carefree, as if calling in an airstrike on an enemy's personal residence, then casually threatening to eliminate this mans entire bloodline with a sat phone and with his crocs propped up on the table is just another day at the office and business as usual.

Man Brolin was incredible in this scene....watched this a ton of times.
This scene reminds me of a book called “Drone Warrior” by Delta Force member Brett Velicovich.. His job was giving green lights to drones in Iraq and making decisions on which bad guys to take out and who to leave in play and follow up the network. Bad ass book

@@parana2853 2 of the terrorists were domestic, but one of them was a lone wolf who recruited them. Basically, Bashiir was paid to let someone through, but it wasn't part of a major network. This was an isolated incident, but the intelligence community jumped the gun in thinking this was building towards the next big security threat.
They were. They were Yemeni but with American passports and they were most likely instructed by a T-Cell in Yemen obviously not in the US...

This is not even a torturer. This is every conspiracy nut nightmare come true. To actually show that they can hit anyone you love anytime anywhere is just showing that if you piss the wrong people off, you are nothing more than an insect in a game. It not only takes all power from you, but it also shows you never had any power, to begin with. This is on another level, godlike almost.
He's not a villain more like anti-hero he's not afraid to play dirty but if he smells bullshit he's making his own play.
