I hope that games like this become more of the norm. It is fun to have a game that you can jump in and jump off, but this type of game literally gives you a ton of replayability. Here's to wishing it ends up being good!
Combining different genre related approaches together would be interesting. With a Chain of Command reaching from Squadlead, Commander up to the Generals or something like that.

As a long time player/fan of both the Arma and the Wargame series I think that this looks fantastic but with one quibble - one of the cut scenes shows LHA-6 USS America sailing alongside LHA-6 USS America. Stupid I know but custom vehicle decals only visible at the closest LOD would really help with my (OCD driven) immersion.
Please check out/do an update on Starbase, They have changed a lot and are about to release in a month or so. It's the most amazing tech breakthrough I've seen. The physics sim in this insane! :} (It's like a chad version of Space Engineers)

The problem with games like the Wargame series are that you end up just sitting in the map view all the time because they are just click-fests. Nobody ha figured out how to avoid that yet, probably because AI is still an afterthought in most games.
Does anyone know if there are any servers for "senior citizen" gamers? I'm in my 50s and sick of being called a pedo just because I'm trying to play a few rounds with idiot squeakers and frat boys. Any other Elder Gamers around?

There has to be a balance between Fun and realism which is quite hard to achieve. It has to be playable enough for people to play it to fill the server that would otherwise be full of possibly very shitty AI.
If you control one guy in first person only to die aftet traveling for 30 minutes, then yeah it will kill your spirit. That's why military sims should be done in RTS. If one man dies you still have an entire army under your command.
After the masterpiece that was World in Conflict i had no hope for a modern RTS.
I hope this is as epic as it looks.
This is not everyone's cup of tea, but try looking into the Wargame franchise.
Wargame and Call to Arms is the closest we can get to WiC :/
