Israeli director Natalie Assouline chronicles the lives of women who are serving time in prison for involvement in terrorist attacks in Israel. The intimate portrait, filmed over the course of two years, tries to uncover the motivations behind the actions of these women. This film is structured as a journey into an unknown world between good and bad. At every turn we receive new information and experience new emotions that make it impossible to remain coherent. We find ourselves liking these women, but we feel discomfort in the fact that we do. We want to pity them, but they are too strong for our pity. We get close to them, and a moment later we are thrown clear, horrified by their actions and their lack of remorse - fascinated at the same time… There is no black or white in this film, only painful shades of gray. This documentary searches to understand how a woman, a mother, is capable of committing such a horrific act. How can she take part in the death of children and babies? How can she leave her own children motherless? What is that motivating power, which is more compelling then the natural maternal desire to protect her children at all cost?

These women have more rights in an Israeli jail than they would have in Gaza under Hamas.

With these men he won the first battle against the Quraysh, that of Badr, which was actually an ambush set up by the Muslims to plunder a Quraysh trade caravan. When he distributed the loot among the warriors, then the ranks of the Muslims began to increase rapidly, because other people also wanted to share in the subsequent looting. And this is how the history of Islam continued in later centuries.
So in the Qur'an, both types of Islam are still found, both the initially peaceful one of Mecca and the bloody aggressive one of Medina. Whenever Muslims try to appease the Islamophobia of non-Muslims, they show them these peaceful verses, and whenever they try to inflame the hearts of their most ardent followers to war, they show them these aggressive verses. But all their scholars agree that aggressive verses (revealed later) invalidate peaceful verses (revealed earlier). (I hope that what I have written is understandable, because I am writing in Albanian and Google Translate translates it into English.)

I lost all sympathy for the palestinians when I saw the video of the innocent young Israeli woman that was kidnapped and taken to gaza then murdered and her body drug out into the streets of gaza. The video is of palestinian children kicking, spitting on, and standing on the head of that poor woman's dead body, while the palestinian women stand around and watch. It made me sick.
If anyone wonders why the kidnapped Israelis are called "hostages" and the palestinian prisoners that were released are called "detainees", now you know. The hostages were innocent civilians going about their morning when their worlds were ripped apart. The palestinian prisoners were being detained for crimes like stabbing an Israeli citizen, attempting to set a house on fire, planning terroristic attacks, etc... Huge difference. HUGE.

I never seen a human being so brainwashed that she said I was not scared but sad because I didn't commit suicide in the middle surrounded by jews so she could kill them while she blew her self up. Jenin, in 2002. Look it up in google, it’s no secret what happened that year in Jenin. When you realize the massacre that happened, it becomes more reasonable why she wanted to help bombers.
I can tell you I’m almost 100% sure that the death of the Israelis & the bomber weren’t the first deaths she whitnessed with her own eyes.
Also the reality is most of these women actually DEFIED their families & community by joining ji.had movements, that is clear in how both kahira’s husband & the pregnant woman’s husband remarried when they went to prison, so that’s why we can safely exclude “societal pressure” from their possible motivations
And when you consider the psychological standpoint of her being a mother of four, who she clearly felt very emotional towards, you know that it’s nearly impossible for such a mother to willingly take her life & leave her kids alone, no matter what religious beliefs she has.
So when you sum this up you must ask yourself just what horrors did this woman see that made her willingly give away her life for a cause she considered just?
Also notice that the majority of these women seeked the ji.had movements themselves & not the opposite, as you can see with the woman who ended up leaving prison who said “I was telling friend that I wanted to do a mission & then she recruited me”
I can apply the same analysis for the woman who was arrested at 19 years old & who had her whole future both academically & marriage-wise ahead of her & she still chose to scarifice, or the woman who tried to bomb the hospital, who the first time they asked her what her motivation was, she said “can’t I just say that I was fed up?”, who knows what happened to her to make her hate jews so much.
I’m not saying that what these women belive is true or that their crimes are justified, it’s just that we need to understand these people’s motivations & not just reduce them to being “brainwashed”, or worse, to being “monsters”

These poor women broke my heart! I think they sucked hatred with their mothers milk. No child should be teach to hate other human beings. It is awfully sad. May God have mercy on them, open their eyes so they will see the truth and be free from all the lies they've been fed, and replace the hate with love, so they can heal inside. One can not take other person life or hurt somebody and expect reward in heaven! That is a lie from Satan!

Islam, since its inception, has been a religion based on conquering attacks, looting, kidnapping people and selling them as slaves. Muhammad preached for 13 years in Mecca a peaceful Islam and only a small number of followers managed to attract. The success of Muhammad and his religion occurred in Medina when he first associated with the band of Saalik bandits by telling them that every robbery, rape, murder they committed was halal (permitted), and if they accepted the religion of they would be still permitted to do those things if they did them on non-Muslims. Then he also invited the tribe of Ghifar who were a tribe of robbers to Madinah. With these men he won the first battle against the Quraysh, that of Badr, which was actually an ambush set up by the Muslims to plunder a Quraysh trade caravan. When he distributed the loot among the warriors, then the ranks of the Muslims began to increase rapidly, because other people also wanted to share in the subsequent looting. And this is how the history of Islam continued in later centuries.
So in the Qur'an, both types of Islam are still found, both the initially peaceful one of Mecca and the bloody aggressive one of Medina. Whenever Muslims try to appease the Islamophobia of non-Muslims, they show them these peaceful verses, and whenever they try to inflame the hearts of their most ardent followers to war, they show them these aggressive verses.
