Synopsis :- Chan's testimony results in a death sentence for convicted murderer Steve McBirney (Marc Lawrence). However, he escapes and heads to a wax museum, a secret Mob hideout run by Dr. Cream (C. Henry Gordon). Cream, a crooked "facial surgeon", operates on McBirney, changing his appearance.
Chan is lured to the wax museum on the pretext of sparring over an old case with Dr. Otto Von Brom (Michael Visaroff) on a radio broadcast arranged by Cream. Based on Von Brom's testimony, Joe Rocke had been to be executed, but Chan is convinced that Rocke was innocent. In fact, it is all a setup so that McBirney can have his revenge, but Chan already suspects it. His son Jimmy (Victor Sen Yung) sneaks into the museum to investigate (without Chan's knowledge).
When everyone gathers at the museum, Carter Lane barges in, representing Mrs. Joe Rocke. His client also sneaks in. When the principals gather around a table to reenact a scene from the Rocke case for the broadcast, Cream makes sure Chan is in the seat wired for an electrocution. However, Von Brom insists on changing seats. Museum night watchman Willie Fern is tricked into throwing the switch. The lights go out, and Von Brom dies ... but not from electricity. (Lily Latimer, Cream's assistant, had cut the wire in an attempt to keep the museum's other function a secret.) Chan finds a small puncture wound in the dead man's neck and a bamboo blowgun dart.
Chan becomes certain that "Butcher" Dagan framed Rocke, his business partner, and that he killed Von Brom as well. Dagan was supposedly murdered by McBirney, another business partner and a friend of Rocke's. With Cream having operated on Dagan, no one knows who among those gathered at the museum is him (Jimmy even suspects Mrs. Rocke). Dagan kills McBirney and makes an attempt on Chan's life, before the detective finally unmasks and captures him.

Love my Charlie Chan he was so awesome in these movies 🍿❤🍿 Now here i am the age of 69 and I still enjoy watching them
I am 69 and I, too, enjoy, what I see and hear!
Exactly the same!! I truly enjoy watching all the Chan movies. Brings back great memories
I’m 65 and they are great
72 and here I am lol
63 here & they never get old (unlike me)
Many Blessings All 🙏🇺🇸
Charlie Chan[*Sidney Toler*], Perry Mason, Sherlock Holmes, watched them since i was 16! I'm now 67.
"STILL" watching my all time favorite detectives!!
Loved old movies chan always had me wondering who done it
Charlie Chan always a great movie on a rainy day.🍿🎥
Or any other day. When I was in high school FIFTY YEARS AGO I got together with a couple of other fans and watched that week's entry on late night tv. Chan is the man.
You said it ☺️
Awsome Charlie Chan movie 🎥 Sidney toler is fantastic as charlie Chan thanks for the upload 🎥👍💯
Glad you enjoyed it
Great classic love watching Charlie Chan movies till this day keep them coming 😊thanks
Sidney was my all time favorite. And then warner was excellent too. The Chinese actors liked them too and said the two both were very respectful of playing the part.
Both were great, though if forced I would choose Toler over Oland .
@@CharlesOdell Both nailed the role.
I remember watching this as a kid in the 1960's, the death penalty, those were the days when we executed murderers in the electric chair, I love the creepy atmosphere, this is one of my favorite C Chan movies. Thank you for great content.
Yeah, and today the convicted murderer is the real victim and we have to show him the compassion he never showed anyone else.
I think it is the best in the series.
I always thought it would be better to meet death in front of a firing squad. More manly.
😊
I love this movie as well and the acting is what makes it so good. There isn't any special effects, is an old fashion who dunnit story line and like most of the Chan movies you'll guess up to the very end. Great memories of me and my Father enjoying these and guessing who the murderer was first as a game we played watching TV. I sure do miss him, anyhow back to the movie. Thank you
One of a handful of, the scary creepy one's, that Charlie Chan, had made😁!!!
❤I was watching Charlie Chan, since I could sit up with my dad!!!
I am 74 years old ...!!!
A great entry in the Charlie Chan series, so very enjoyable to watch on a late night. Thank you so much for offering it. I loved this one, kinda reminded me of the Sherlock Holmes movie House of Fear with the multitude of suspects and ever shifting suspicions.
Used to watch Charlie Chan in the 1960's on late night TV as a kid. Haven't seen one since. Wax Museum caught my eye so I am giving it a whirl!!
I'm an old Charlie Chan fan. Seem most if not all. And this is one of the crispest, clearest copies I've seen. Must be restored. Thanks for posting!
"Well please explain presence of one dummy inside another dummy."
Like all his films...excellent. May, 2023.
Thank you for showing the Charlie Chan movies. Quality viewing is very hard to find! Wish you could have high-quality closed caption so my deaf friend could enjoy it, too. Warner Oland (There was an umlaut atop his Swedish name, which gave it an "er" sound; he passed away in 1938. Sidney Toler then became Charlie Chan, and the wonderful mystery stories continued to fascinate audiences. So Happy to be able to see them now at age 78.
Me, too!
Love these Charlie Chan movies so much enjoyed them my whole life thanks for sharing
My family & I watched Charlie Chan on channel 44 UHF on Sunday night. We loved these old movies.
whereabouts and how long ago? Born in 1955, and with the standard three major networks, and later (1968) an independent, there wasn't really enough air time between them, (remember, they signed off at night back then) Not really until CZcams came along, and free posting made viewing them possible.
Charlie chan was based on a real life police detective from Honolulu Hawaii.
This is an addendum to what I posted above. The man's name was Chang Apana.
@@larryellison5001 That's right. He was a small man, but very tough.
@@charlesodell804 "Very Tough" is accurate, but not specific enough. It's said that someone went against him with either a Sickle or Scythe, and he *took it by his bare hands.* He's also said to have been thrown out a 2 story window, but he just got back up and went right back in. _THAT_ is the kind of "Tough."
In the end, though, he died to Diabetes.
@@101Volts I'm afraid being tough does not protect you from that.
@@charlesodell804 Apana carried a six foot bullwhip to assert his authority.
Awesome Charlie Chan movie 📽️🎥 love the suspense and intrigued😂🤗🤣😱😰😨 jimmy think 💬 he is a great detective like his Pop charlie Chan he is more like Barney Fife 🤣😂😅 thanks for the upload awesome 🔥🎥📽️💯👍
I am watching during a thunderstorm! Great story. Thank you.
Great movie!
Fabulous whodunit movies Charlie Chan...😮😅
This one is my favorite so far!👍👍👍
I insist this is the best one of all of the 40 or so films. Of course, they are all dear to my heart.
Seems like just about every Charlie Chan show has secret floor doors and hidden basements. 🤔
The blond woman, Joan Valerie, was beautiful. They don't have actresses that beautiful today.
I have never seen such a good description of any film, some don’t even give the year. I highly recommend giving it a read if you haven’t already, someone has put heck of a lot of work into it.
I love Chan movies especially Jimmy he’s always entertaining
very enjoyable!
Thanks for posting.
This is an addendum to what I posted. The man's name was Chang Apana. He was a really good police officer.
the best movies
Let me get this straight… The bad guys do stuff, get caught, get sentenced to death, then get mad at the people who catch them? They have no remorse! They should be mad at themselves, they’re the fools who put them in the situation by making the bad choices
It's all accurate to how enough criminals act in real life, though.
3:45 "That's only a dummy, dummy."🤣
Here I am again. Giving it another view. Regards. February, 2024.
Tom Agnew was Butcher Dagan! Wow...what a complicated plot!!!
Seems like the older I get the better Charlie Chan gets". Wonderful actor.
I would still like to know how chan could have 13 kids when always out solving crimes. how did he get money to take care of them all.
From being a World-famous detective?😊
lol 14 and g kids to when u.good u get paid lol 🕵😅🚔💰
Ancient Chinese secret .
His kids came later in life. He is in his 60s
Only in the movies. Throw your brains out the door, and enjoy, like the rest of us !
This one's a little spooky...
Always the good, lookng , smart FEMALE reporter from there to Batman et cetera.
Excellent movie ruined by insane number of commercials.
I 💕 love this. Show
Love these older movies, but Chan;s son is a real buffoon.
But the son is always funny, and makes father look smarter by comparison.
@@charlesodell804 No argument there 😌👍
"Why one dummy hiding inside another dummy?"
That's his second eldest son, Jimmy. His first son, Lee, is a bit smarter although he also goofs things up a bit. Not as much, though - he was competent and not a comedy source in the first film he was in, "Charlie Chan in Paris."
You also see Tommy (third son) later, and Edward is in one of the films. It seems that Tommy and Edward are twin brothers, but Tommy's also (years later) played by a different actor, who happens to be the same actor who played Jimmy... It's a bit of a confusing mess once you get to that point.
The first son was Key Luke, who was also an outstanding commercial artist.
@@user-tv2qc1rf9yHe was in the other Chan movies. Warner Oland.
Interesting 35 foot long cars!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
The character VonBraun seems to be doing more of a Russian accent than a German one.
DYK the character of "Charlie Chan" is loosely based on a real-life Hawaiian detective? 😉👍
But wouldn't it be a "splinter off the ol chopstick"?
💙💯
Need a new Charlie Chan
Who do you think would make a great Charlie Chan
Asian American activists would never stand for it.
@@charlesodell804 of course an Asian could play him... why not? Just was noticing tonight how well the actor did here playing his son. That character really cracks me up..
@@charlesodell804 okay honey I don't think they would say too much recognition of a very smart Chinese detective look what they did with Jackie Chan I think Charlie Chan would be a little more sophisticated like an Agatha Christie
Charlie Chan was a Chinese Hawaiian American very sophisticated very family-oriented with a bunch of nutty kids and he had three different black men that played with him that were just hilarious one was Chattanooga Birmingham and I can't think of the third one it took real deduction like murder she wrote to figure out who did what and the only jumping around and fooling around and went crazy was all of his kids
For me, this is unwatchable, because the picture has been stretched out to try and make it widescreen. Should have just posted it in it's original 4:3 aspect ratio. Doesn't look right.
Beam it to your tv and adjust your tv's aspect ratio.
@@rax816 That's not the point. Viewers shouldn't have to try and fix a distorted picture, that should have been posted correctly in the first place.
I've been watching a series of these CC movies today. They automatically air one after the other. All have a "Gold Movies" logo in upper right corner, and all films are distorted. The same person must have copied all of them. Too bad.
@@TK-jc9by I'd like to watch this series, but not like this. If TCM airs this series on cable, they would show them correctly. That's what I'll wait for.
Unfortunately the image is stretched horizontally to fill the frame, making everyone and everything shorter and wider. This incorrect aspect ratio is unwatchable.
it's not ideal... but still much better than the zooming in and out uploads, those I really can't watch! Close ups eyebrow and nostril indeed!
❤
Don't send that fool Chan's son to get the police he'll screw it up!!!
Lol ,, no doubt! Laughed so hard when I read this that I my coffee about came out my nose! Lmfao, I always thought same thing.
sharon annes baton

Old Chinese proverb , couple on 7 day honeymoon make whole week or hole weak.
I can't watch these stretched out of aspect while there are ones truer to ratio. Sorry.
To many ads
An ad-blocker app helps when watching on a computer or laptop. On a regular TV, I don't know how to block the ads though.
To many commercials. It seems like every 6 minutes
They have been messing with you tube... The screen keeps switching to full view them long wise... Guessing they should leave it alone when it was great
"To many commercials" -- What does that have to do with the movie or the channel owner? CZcams places commercials, complain to them.
Mr. Zulu?
Ĵ
This movie is way too complicated! You need to watch at least a second time!
“Like real mouse in toy factory…🧐… honourable number two son only real Asian in whole movie” 🥹
Another download that they put a big ass logo on the screen can’t stand it it like a fly buzzing around from the land where Kangaroos 🦘 Ruel
