Bro, The company to which I'm employed is seeing a high volume rate. We are experiencing more loads then we can pickup and delivery. Lumber is high for two main reason. One is the previous years forest fires in the northwestern United States and two is the tariffs on lumber coming out of Canada. In previous videos you explain in detail how our industry is cyclical. All truckers know that what goes up must come down. Thus, we must enjoy the highs but prepare for the lows. Congrats on your high month. As always very informative video. Thank you for all you do. You keep posting and I'll stay driven. ☮️ from Cali.

Yes it is and all we all can do is prepare for the bad times. Also even for company drivers too. We all need to tighten our belts and save where we all can.

just started as a yard jockey. This was my first week. I've driven for three full shifts and I'm already backing good because I'm doing it all night. Been using a company truck instead of a yard horse. So I'm skipping school and making money while getting my cdl with no contract. I honestly love this job but can't wait for the pay increase getting my cdl lol.

that's awesome, to hear about how great you are doing this year. ;)
the struggle was more an adjustment on finances to make sure you are solid and taking home more in the future. that's how I'm looking at it, haha.
interesting on the freight news.... puzzling at first with rates holding and the claim never enough drivers but if you think about it, the pandemic has crushed a lot of businesses and forced others to change their ways which has them saving money in the long run. be interesting to see how things look around Christmas time and definitely next spring.
stay safe driver and glad you aren't working harder.. who wants to do that??!! lol

Dude your sunglasses are awesome! I wear some cheap truckstop sunglasses in my videos (trying to be like you) but they are nowhere near as cool as yours!

I want to buy a truck year 2004 to 2007 how long before I can run it no more?
I don’t plan on running to Cali or those states just Colorado and the states around.

That’s a great question, nobody really knows. Whenever the government drops that bombshell I guess we’ll know. I would think we’d have ample time to find another truck though but your guess is as good as mine.

Do you know what make you plan to buy? I recommend freightliner Colombia or century with Detroit 60 series. Easy to work on reliable and cheap to work on.

I do know. I plan on buying a peterblit as long as it doesn’t have a car engine.
From watching Driven trucking I have been able to get a really good Idea of what specs I need.
The Colombia and century look good if I can find one that’s not falling apart too bad wouldn’t be a bad choice.
I just hope that when the county of California say they don’t want diesel trucks anymore the US won’t try to do the same thing.

It all comes to a end . Once freight gets out it will slow down. You never start a business when things are booming. Keep cost low and prepare for the rainy day because it will happen. I am doing well but i mostly do nich markets but not afraid to pull general freight. My next 3 loads i can take the rest of the month off

What I’ve been seeing is rates that are up are primarily being driven by demand and not volume. Demand with less competition on items. For example when you go into a store, for items that had 5 like items, may now be down to 1, maybe 2. Also inflation has played a significant role. I expect a flat line type of year with a slow trajectory downward but still should play out to be a solid 2021 for trucking

Good info. Thank you. I'm seriously looking into truck driving as my 30+ year career company has been bought out by the corporate mother ship. Truck driving training school... $6200 to $10,200, ya no, not really an option. So apprenticeship program with of course apprenticeship pay, doable? Doubtful considering the ass pounding of child support, what a fricking racket. Anyway, not giving up yet, all suggestions welcome. My local trucking company is Ralph Moyle Trucking, haven't talked to them yet, checking out reviews and such. Happy Memorial Day weekend to all and thank you to all who have and are currently serving.
