- In this video I show you how to make a basic Dorset Flower button. This pretty button is easy to make, and can be further changed for a large number of variations once you know how! I have also added a couple extra ideas at the end - adding coloured stitches and working a chain stitch border (which works great on other Dorset buttons too).

Great video, love it that you are using a little larger button. Makes it easier to see what you are doing. THANKS!
Glad you like it!
Lovely button. I made o e last night on a sweater that was missing a button for at least 10 yrs. I only had 5 rIngs. Finally bought more and the sweater and I are happy.
What a lovely tutorial, thank you for taking the time to share your talent.
Thanks so much 😊
How lovely! I have been watching your dorset button videos, have bought your tools and some rings. I have lots of the threads you use in my collection of tatting threads. I am now telling myself it is high time I make my first button! I love this flower button.
Oh thank you! Tatting threads will be lovely - you'll have quite defined textures. x
Fantastic tutorial! Great explanation and close-up visual of the button as you work it.
Thank you!
That is so pretty!❤
Thank you!
Beautiful work thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful.
thank you!
Nice, I have looking at so many hand made buttons but they were to modern for what I wanted mine for, now this I do like. Just had a look at your website and already setup an account ready for next pay day lol with a few items with the heart clicked so I can go right to the ones I need up first.
Found your site via Bernadette Banner as she And Heathcliff we’re making buttons following your tutorials 😊 I am soo looking forward to finally finishing my winter jacket I designed a year ago and made using Tunisian crotchet which I have just learnt to do in place of knitting 😹😹 but I just could not find any buttons that I liked in the shops or online, hence the hunt for hand made again they just would not work as they were using fabric but I needed something made from the yarns used to make my jacket. Now I can play around and see what I can come up with.
Thank you do much for sharing 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Button making really can be quite addictive, as they really are a nice take-anywhere project in between all those big plans we have. Using matching yarns and threads is always such a good idea, it gives a real couture finish. Thank you so much for commenting
I just love this you make it look so easy! I saw another where you used a template like little flower petals. want to get that one as well. Cannot find how to order. Thank you so very much, Onna Addis
Thank you for getting in touch! I'm so glad you like the videos, and thank you too for your order.
Can the cast on bit be done by crocheting? Thanks
You could, but the chain is a bit thicker so may not turn in the same way x
@@GinaBSilkworks I see, thanks for the reply
