Thanks for the review. I think this is also a good lesson that everyone had a preference on how they like their equipment. I am a fan of the 600/75 degree break
I´ve been using Bauer Ultrasonic sets for the last 2 seasons and for this season I will be using Mach. It's been okay, but I've not been able to really find the perfect feel. The feel that I had before switching to Bauer, I was previously a CCM Premier guy. In the past, I was able to make it feel pretty much like a extended part of my leg, but with Bauer it feels like it's just a piece of wood sitting on my leg. Hopefully I will like the Mach set more
I love my Warrior G3 set, but watching these reviews makes me love my Warriors even more. Do a Warrior review for comparison it would be fun to watch :)
Thanks for the review Trav!!! I personally don't like a stiff pad, therefore I'll stay away from Bauer. I like a soft booth, lots of flex at the knee, I'll stay with my Vaughn V9 pads and gloves (580 break), I like to be very mobile and stiff pads just don't work, but that's my preference. Great review, keep up the good work. :)
My son loves his custom Mach pads, glove and blocker. We had to go custom due to be full-right. He is 6' 3" and the lower channel fits great. He uses the Bauer Pro Series skates after growing out of his konekts...
Great review. Thanks. Confirms what I suspected from Bauer, that I'm more of a Vapor/Hyperlite guy if I stick with Bauer. Currently have some 2S pros and I love the rebounds, but the stiffness does my hips no favors.
Great review Trav, really leaning towards hyper lite for my next set, coming from warrior. But that blocker cuff on the hyper lite is annoying. I would love to see Mach cuff (or hyper lite skin on a Mach). Also with you that 600 break is a nonstarter, 590 is doable but who uses 600 these days?
Nice honest review, shame that Bauer couldn't make a 580, would have been interesting to compare with Lefevre. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on a floating T since you used to have one of your Brian's checkerboard glove.
After seeing a lot of people asking for a 580 glove from bauer, i still don't understand why they don't offer it in custom, even if they do build it for some nhlers. Some people chose to get a whole set of another brand because of this sole reason 🤷🏻♂️
@@trav4oilers the full right 580 is very specific tho, i understand that it's lower in demand, but a 580 in regular would be useful for a lot of people
I’d be interested in how you’d feel about an ottenger or kemper style pocket on the true glove, max visibility into the pocket and a soft center to slow pucks even more than the nylon
I have an ultrasonic blocker. Hated it. The glove was way too tight. I think it literally gave me tendonitis. Went back to Warrior. I think the Mach pads are meh, I really like the SLR 3's. The vaughn professor strap is the best calf strap of any pad ever.
My favourite pad brand I’ve ever bought. Vaughn, ccm, Brian’s and true always seem like they lag behind in technological advancement. I’d be curious what you think about the hyper light - softer core.
I went with bauer M5 pro for beer league and i love everything about the pad BUT the stupid strapping lol I took the tune fit off my 2x pros and modified just a tad, perfect now. I do have my own custom digi print hyperlite gloves tho. I love 590. my favorite blocker catcher is the v9 carbon xp glove and v9 carbon blocker. It super annoying you cant get m5 pro in custom colours as you could the 3x (I aint paying $2k+ for digi print mach, sorry )
I was thinking you might be a Vapor instead of a Supreme guy. I keep thinking you're actually a Vaughn guy... but you stopped using your V9 set and I wasn't sure why, other than "it doesn't fit my playing style". I've also been curious why you picked 20.2 and not 12.2. Seems like with your butterfly width (same boat) and the fact you like softer pads you would like more "hybrid" style pads... but you keep moving more towards the butterfly focused pads.
@@trav4oilers Vaughn is the "almost" brand. Almost really good, but the small things add up. The gloves need some serious work .Like the pads move, but they could use some work on rebounds. They're soft and you either love or hate the professor strap, been eyeballing Bauer lately. Appreciated the Mach review.
I think that most goalies are snobs when it comes to catch gloves. Everybody has their favorite glove. For me it's a Brians sub2 glove. Any other glove and i cant catch anything 😅
Glad I didn't buy this set from ya (strongly considered it), my butterfly is super narrow. Gonna wait for the new hyperlites and if that doesn't tickle my fancy, gonna end up going custom Brian's.
Has anyone else tried the employee pricing that he is talking about i want to do it to save money but don’t want to to look like an idiot if they are just like yeah no nice try
I love my Bauer Vapor set...of course I'm not a change set every 6 months like many canadian or usa goalies, so I have to really cope with what I have. Also no matter what brand you use, your 5 hole is like mine..as wide as it gets, I know we have a narrow butterfly but like me I believe is a matter of out lazy a$$ not to properly train it of ice. I want to try a warrior set which I don't fully understand why you don't like anymore. I kinda like your gear reviews but I'll lie a more neutral view of things.
I can see your POV, but I have preferences. I'm reviewing my perspective. I try to be as unbiased and neutral as possible but I think thats why people watch these videos. You always have the ability to ignore my biases?
@@trav4oilers No, I actually thought of that, but instead of saying "Trav centered opinion" I used "neutral opinion" so I wouldn't feed your ego. Kid you're a good youtuber and it shows. Like you I just put my perspective my biases on what you're exposing, take the advise or don't take it that's entirely your choice.

I've been using these pads for the last two seasons, (AAA 12u) and they were a little too stiff, so I got the bauer vapor 3x pads, really good.
Glad you like em man :)
Idk why I love the graphic so much bin a hot minute since Bauer looked good

Need a little more flexibility my friend
I like the way these look , they are sharp! Bright white with black puck marks, awesome look
Thank you brother :)
I’m so excited to see your review on the pads
hope you loved it
@@trav4oilers yeah it was a good video. I found it entertaining and it had a lot of good information😄
Good review. Coming from a ccm 590 to a Mach glove, it was different. I still can’t catch the puck with ease. Learning process
All in good time my man
Awesome stuff Trav!

Maybe one day they'll get the message :)
I understand what you mean about the glove. I'm just a low level beer league goalie and even I can't stand a glove that doesn't feel just right.
everybody needs to feel confident
You want a mix of Lefevre and Bauer you say? That’s basically what Lefevre made for Bobrovsky. Best Lefevre pads I’ve used.
If only we could order that. Jorge and all those others are bozo's at true.
Keep up the good content love your videos
Love you too buddy ;)
Great job. Not a lot to say but I enjoy the review videos.
Long as you enjoy Andreas, thats what matters :)

I can see why. Ultrasonic blocker can be good but bad
Would be great to see a review of an JRZ -Fuzion 2 pads (Made in quebec) and seem to be the best bang for the buck for a *custom set*
Not for me bro
Why don’t u just get custom bauers you’d love it
I don't have the money for em man
how do you take out the peice on the blocker that you were talking about? Just picked up a set of hyperlite 2 and there is that same peice
My favourite pad brand I’ve ever bought. Vaughn, ccm, Brian’s and true always seem like they lag behind in technological advancement. I’d be curious what you think about the hyper light - softer core.
I disagree with Vaughn. Best sliding surface available. Warrior is a solid 2nd
@@alebarajas3045 They may have improved slide surface and leg channel. Although they are still somewhat heavy for a top level pad
Softer would be the way to go for me
Great video from the way you described it the mach might be for me

Did you consider getting the hyperlite knee stack, it’s suppose to have more flex than the supreme line
This was a stock set. That wasn't an option
I'm really interested in Hyperlite 2 / 3X(2)? / 4X? next year. But I just also got a serious deal on some Ultrasonics so I went with that for now.
Saving money is always a good plan
You can get stabilflex on your Mach pads
At custom, but not at retail
How do you know what size you need? Don’t understand the small, medium, large sizing chart?
I am a large based on the sizing charts
What do you feel is “outdated” on the Lefevre gloves that you’d like to see changed?
heavy, thick, look old, no new technology
hey ma i got a question what do you with all of the pads you own but dont use

Had 2 custom sets, never again!
I respectfully disagree about the blocker. The Bauer Mach has the most open cuff and best mobility of any pro blocker on the market today!

I just ripped it out

Trav i have a question about goalie glovd breaks i have a optik 2 glove can i get that in a 580 break or does ccm and true only do that?
