We had this issue and changed the battery. But today will get the fuse. 35 voltage mega fuse. Maybe I’ll buy 2 in case we see some one on the road with this same issue. It put us in a dangerous situation when the van died on the highway, made it to the side but had to take mechanic action along a busy highway. Thank you so very much! We are in Florida trying to make it back to the west cost and need to get her up and working safely! (The van) First it started as you said, key stuck, then battery had to be jumped! That was when they were putting her in the ship to come from Costa Rica. We got the call. On arrival they jump started to get us along our way in Tampa Fl then it died on the highway. Some one may wish to consider having the wrench and fuse on hand and not get stranded as we did! This is a 2021 ProMaster. Again thank you! We will try the fuse now and see how it is, consider putting the cable to better ground from battery to the engine!
Good information, keep a spare fuse or jumper, the battery under the feet makes it a place dirt, water, and rust can occur which is a problem for electronics.

I’m going to try what you did and see if it works. If I have to add a ground cable I don’t know if I can do that alone. I hope I can ask you more questions if I have them in the future
Any update? I'm having the exact same problem this morning. I removed the fuse on the positive end of the battery and was able to dislodge my battery. I plan to replace the fuse once I receive. Did you install this ground cable? If so, did it work?
@@kalebwithak8985 I'm late to this, but the fuse didn't make it work, so I had AAA come out and the battery was dead. So they charged it a bit and had me leave the van running for an hour to get it back to life. I'm building mine into a camper and one of the lights in the cargo area was on due to the doors being open which drained the battery.
Great video! Did all this and still had no start 😢 Wire from battery to the key 🔑 ignition was broken near the driver door 😑 quick splice and 💥 bam fired right up. Love electrical problems.
@@rpmgarage5848 no unfortunately I tried what you said in your other video where i moved the cable over to the other side of the fuse and the van still didn't start. I bought another mega fuse and put that in and it still didn't start so Im not sure what it is😭. I'm going to try and clean the area around the factory ground by the battery tomorrow and see if that works. Any other suggestions? I know nothing about cars and I shocked myself with even trying to replace that fuse thanks to your detailed video.
@@bchenelle ok disconnect the battery cable over night and try tomorrow morning to see if anything changes if not working get any could be ground cable what year is your van ?

I like the idea of the Ford transit but Canadians seem to complain more about Fords. Less about GM vehicles and Chrysler seems in the middle. The RAM promaster has a short front for easier turns. But my frickin side door freezes in the North once cold follows a rain day.

Add a new battery on the key and see if that does anything

What does it mean when the word ignition comes out and it doesn't start?
Try to replace a Gerry on the key also
We know is 32 v but how many amp.
I think it's 250 amp right?
