Our CRAZY local journey in KERALA India Heartwarming village experience Anakulum Idukki travel 2024
    Hi everyone!
Thanks for watching our India travel vlog! This is our most favorite adventure to date in Kerela in Anakulum. Anakulum is an amazing and very small local village in the Idukki district, close to Munnar and very similar to Munnar with the amazing views, wildlife, and tea plantations. Anakulum is known as the “land of wild elephants” and while staying there we got to see elephants every night and morning (early in the morning).
After our chai in Anakulum, we adventured off in our motorbike and had some interesting experiences. We saw a tribal village but were unable to venture further as there were dangerous animals around and the safari tours told us to leave… We ended up starting the journey in Mankulum where we ate a traditional Kerala style breakfast, fish curry and porotta along with Chai. This was made by Lucy chechi. We made friends with her and others and a man named Joy then took us with him to see a waterfall (5 min walk away). It was more like a 40 min trek but it was amazing.
He took us to a stunning waterfall and Keenan was able to swim and I was able to rest. From there we went to the Munnar tea plantations and explored the beauty of the district. The greenery was stunning. We loved the trip 😉
We ended our day back in Aakkulum to see the elephants There was a massive tribe that night and we felt so lucky to see them. All in all, it was the best day yet and unbelievable to experience Kerala. We are loving it so far and hope that you are enjoying our trip too.
    Lots of Love,
    Mac & Keen

Kerala is relatively unique (even coastal Karnataka and some parts of Tamil Nadu have this characteristic) in India for being the most urbanized state but doesn't have metropolises as such. The whole state is more or less like a long drawn out suburb as a result. Relatively less urban rural divide and villages are pretty accessible as a result. Villages in North India especially are very different from this and I would actually caution you if you intend to travel in those regions. Some rural areas in North India can be pretty unsafe for women. Like you can see here that people in Kerala's villages understand some rudimentary English and people like Joy are quite common. This is not the case in many other places in India. In places like UP, Bihar, Jharkhand etc you should not take up such offers. There is a possibility that you might get scammed.
Broadly speaking, the West Coast of India (Malabar and Konkan Coast) are much more developed and notably more cosmopolitan than rest of India. This low key true for North East India too.

I have visited this place long back, the reason why these elephants come to this specific spot in the river to drink is, natural bubbles pop out from certain holes in this river, the water is little salty in taste. So the elephants love those salty water to drink.
Nobody knows why this bubbles pop out from water naturally?

Due to the current intense heat, it is natural for wild animals to come out of the forest in search of water. So the journey to the forest area is not very safe for these two or three months. Animals like tigers, elephants and wild buffaloes are also likely to show aggressive behavior due to this heat. People living in Kerala can handle the situation properly, foreigners beware. You can properly enjoy kerala beauty from July month.

Hey guys! Just to clarify, the "aayilla" she said @10:33 does not mean the fish "ayila" (Mackerel). She meant the curry wasn't ready yet. It's a subtle difference, but the "aa" is longer and the "lla" is stronger. "Aayilla" roughly translates to "not yet". In this situation it meant "not done yet".
    Aayo? is the question (Done?).
Aayi is the answer for yes (Done).
Aayilla (Aayi-illa) is the answer for no (Not done).
Also, 🤣The local on the top left (@8:30) is the current prime minister of India.

@@Unstuk I recommend you watch some videos of Thrissur Pooram to avoid the culture shock. I would also suggest you book hotels close to the Pooram grounds in advance since rooms get reserved away the closer you get to the event.
Pooram can be a great experience in the right setting but it can be overwhelming too if you're not prepared.

22:05 white, green or the normal tea that we drink all are made from the same tea plant.
Bud is used to make white tea, the leaves just below( there will be two leaves) is used to make green tea. Normal tea will be the balance or all mixed together. White and green are hand picked one by one......
