Big heads up, DO NOT RESET THE IPHONE 6S ON IOS 9! It will be bricked and give you an activation error and you will have no choice but to update to iOS 15.
That sucks.
@@joeytribbiani6083 that doesn’t fix it I’ve tried that on an iPhone 6s running iOS 9.2
Some phones have been deactivating on their own, but some iPhone 6s don't have this issue at all, for that check order number and check on everymac to see which carrier it originally had, I am not sure but the ones without the issue are the ones that have/had US carriers (but not all). This is due to the fact that on iOS 9 on A9 it would have too much frequency which is illegal in some countries, it's not the exact explanation but you get the idea.
For instance my SE iOS 9 is unlocked but was Verizon and I was able to setup and it never deactivated (and I did the activation after the issue was known).
@@LUKAS-bb4jc that’s exactly what I do👍🏼
@@LUKAS-bb4jc also your iOS could be one version above watchOS and you could pair it, but now if you’ve unpaired it, it better match the watchOS with the exact version that goes with iOS or you have to update to the latest version… these dicks (Apple) want you to update so bad now.
I love how smooth the app opening animation is on iOS 9
FRR and iOS 7’s parallax was so good, especially when you would tap on a folder
@@breadcraft3605 watch the video again
@@breadcraft3605 do you even watch the video or you just heard what he has to say? animation when opening apps clearly way cooler and smoother on IOS 9. what are you on?
@@breadcraft3605 idk man iOS 9 just looks so much better
@@raun4.4.68 ios 15 is deff smoother
„Apps getting more complex“ really hit me with the subway surfer comparison.
Back when games just had a 2-3 play modes and a settings button, and not 20 shiny animated buttons for season pass, daily/weekly challenges, collectibles, specials and more stupid shit :/
This is a really well-made video! Awesome
I owned the 6s for 5 years before I upgraded to an iPhone X and the reasons why i upgraded was the old design, small display and small RAM, apps used to reload very often when I multitask and scrolling through Safari used to crash and reload a lot on twitter. In fact I'm not noticing that much of a difference between the 6s and the X in terms of performance, probably should've upgraded to the Xs instead.
iPhone X is still very small phone
@@WololoWololo2 iPad mini for you in terms of size :D
@@christeder 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
even then the XS was a minimal upgrade to the X, wouldn't make much of an improvement
Probably because you updated it!
The 6S on IOS 13 and below is WAY faster and more high end performance wise!
Impressive how these modern phones can last so long and still feel reasonably fast. My old iPhone 5 on iOS 10 was slow as molasses compared to the version it shipped with...
I think this is mostly due to apple optimizing their old devices, try this with a Galaxy S5/ or any old android phone and it might be a different story
That’s mainly because the iPhone 5 was the last iPhone with a 32bit processor. From the 5s all have had 64bit procs.
Try iPhone 4s with iOS 9. It's way worse than yours.
My iPhone 4 on iOS 7 was the most painfull thing, but the features were nice and I still miss those dots instead of bars for mobile signal
@keithstoner9065 the iPhone 5 was slowed down by apples admitted iOS updates on purpose to push folks to buy newer. I have one sitting around and it’s slow as hell. Fuck apple
It's crazy how identical all the layout is! Newer version just has more bright vivid icons and a few other changes but it still looks good
Also widgets and app drawer but that's basically it
Bro we’re waiting for iOS 15.5 battery drain test…don’t starve us😂
Yes me too 💗
I’m really enjoying your videos keep it up
Will do, glad to hear you’re enjoying them. Thanks for watching!
Great video, thank you!
Amazing video Idea, Deserve more views.
Great content 👍🏻
6s is the longest properly working iPhone to date. 👍 thanks for your video 👌
Creative thinking bro.. we need this kind of videos
Wow, thanks for this
It is very interesting to compare how the battery holds
Great video
i like the old scrolling, it made 60hz feel really smooth regardless if its slower, faster scrolling looks choppy on 60hz
This is beautiful! it's an amazing feat to be able to run this device on its original software. I wish i knew how to do this. Which is kinda sad because it isn't but a few years old. Anyway thanks for covering this great "older" piece of tech.
could you test it with benchmark apps like geekbench, antutu etc?
"apps getting more and more complex" yes, finally someone said this
This shows just how much powerful is Apple A9 chip 💪🏻😎 even in 2022 it exceeded my expectations I had back in 2015 when I got it, I'd never ever thought it would have received even iOS 15, that's pretty impressive, for a 7 years old phone
Well done Apple! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 this video hit me with iOS 9 nostalgia 🤧
Well done? Now they have iOS 16 to some A9 devices and not the better performing ones.
@Brian iOS 16 won’t be delivered to any device having an A9
@@dybefapi8694 iPad 5th gen has an A9 and is getting iPadOS 16, which you and I both know is literally the exact same thing as iOS 16.
@@RatbagTheCoward I searched the web and indeed, this device will receive this update. One of the reasons could be that an iPad has a bigger battery and this new OS could be more energy consuming. Moreover, the iPhone 6S has never had a good reputation in terms of battery. Secondly, your claim that there is no difference between iPadOS and iOS is unjustified. Both OS have similarities but there is a clear distinction between the two, and it will be even more so with iPadOS 16 which will offer, as example, a feature called Task Manager, as well as a computer-like window interface, which you absolutely don't have on an iPhone. So I suggest you update your point of view on this topic because it must be since iOS 10 that the two OS are not unified anymore.
@@dybefapi8694 I am already aware of the distinctions you mentioned. If anything though, your post only further validates how strange it is that an A9 budget device made the cut, but the A10-powered 7 did not.
If anyone wants to get the version of an app exactly of the iOS version, you can just install it on a modern iPhone and download from saved library in old
That background reminds of everythingapplepro’s background from like 2015/2016.
Thank you
iphone 6s.. the first phone I had. It was third-hand when I used it (used by my grandma > my elder bro > me). I can’t believe it passed 6 major updates! When I used it, it was perfectly fine somehow. Eventually, I upgraded to the iphone 11.
I still love the old control and notification panels.
I wish them to made a 2nd version of if it the user wants to use old panels.
Amen!
Yes, I use a 6s, and yes, it is completely usable in 2024. 5s, 6s, and SE are the goat of iPhones
Watching that in 2022 on my iPhone SE 2020
I loved the white façade back in those years ! Compared to “all black front iPhone theme” from now ..
Wow those animations are smooth
great video, although less frequent use of "again" would be more pleasant, but still a simple and straightforward comparison :)
i am still using the 6s, love it so much. and i also owned a 7plus, weirdly 6s works better, but dont get me wrong these are old phones, it's not fast, but they worked for me because i only use it on the road to work, and i have a separate newer and bigger phone to use at work. i trade my xr, xs max, but i couldn't trade this 6s, in fact i traed my 6s for the 7 plus, but eventually got another second hand 6s. btw, i also have a 12 mini, but not as much love to the 6s, and the 5g is basically useless, it drains battery so much.
Good Afternoon, I a huge fan of gadgets comparision content and your videos best fit my taste, I am keen on watching your videos. I wonder if you could tell us hove to downdrage an iphone into lower ios versions like from 15 to 13 in 2022
Nice comparison. It seems 6s still holds up in 2022.
Great video underlining my own impressions regarding the iPhone 6s. This type of iPhone is still fine for my use, bought them all used. And I just even bought an iPhone 6s Plus (128 GB for as little as $60 in mint condition (well yes, the battery is aging a little but this could be helped if I wanted to ...) to add to my collection of iPhones. With an iPhone 8 (256 GB) still running as my "daily driver" I am hesitant in getting one of the newer ones, I find those very chunky. Might go for an iPhone 12/13 mini one day hence it is said to be not as good on battery capacity.
i bought ip 6s 64gb for 10$
That is so cool.
The iPhone 6s and SE 1st are the two and only iPhones to get 6 major software updates as they have same specs and I'm surprised that both ran well.
Please do a battery test on Both
Please compare camera quality betwen old and new ios
I would like to see how much storage iOS9 eats up vs iOS15 as well as "system data" on both OS.
I kinda miss the control center in iOS 9, 10
Incredible how well the iPhone 6s and A9 run today. I have an iPhone 6 with the A8 on iOS 12 and it struggles
iOS 12 is great on the 6s though I have a Chinese model with it
@@CentralPALocos they were talking about the 6 on iOS 12 not the 6s
Can you do this same video on the iphone 7
Can you make a video about downloading older versions of apps?
0:52 how did you get those versions ?
What happens if you upgrade from iOS 9 directly to iOS 15?
Try Using The Wayback machine to load websites from back then
I prefer the control center from ios 9 more than ios 15. I forgot it used to be from swiping from the bottom.
It still is on the se 2/3 i think

i’m using an iphone 8 and i’m starting to feel that it is struggling. i can’t properly multitask because the ram is too small and apps are often closing in yhe background, i can’t really leave youtube or even spotify playing in the background because if i do and go use some other app, it’ll start to lag and even either close the app i’m currently using or youtube/spotify.
It appears that the 6S is still quite good. Particularly if you get a battery replacement.

Watching Google IO promises to support Pixel 6 Android for 2 years on my iPhone 6s with its 7th major iOS update installed and running perfectly. No more words needed. Cheers
How's the battery backup on your 6S?
Yes, but usability wise they're the same. Because apps support Android for longer. CZcams just dropped support for Android 5, an OS released a decade ago.
I want see a battery test, iOS 9 vs iOS 15
Please compare the camera quality
We have 6s plus and I just got AirPod pros and I can’t adjust the AirPod volume by sliding up and down. No accessibility option to turn it on either is that due to my iOS being 14.4 and not 15?
Could you try to measure the boot times of both? And about how much storage the base system takes in?
iOS 12 takes 1.5gb on iPhone 5s, iOS 15 takes 6.7gb on iPhone SE 1, so I think iOS 9 for iPhone 6s would need 1gb and iOS 15 7gb because of the higher resolution.
@@redgavril thanks, it sounds like something that would make sense 👍
@@janneskebogeyman3320 my correction: iOS 12 is 3gb and iOS 9 is 2gb I think
I can't believe that i also had a 6s+ until i upgraded to 13 last year october..

Take a shot every time he says applications.
Still smoothier than my Galaxy S20
Can you compare old iphone with old samsung with newer softwares ?
Even the home screen swiping feels different in these two.
Ya way smoother with the ios15
So there was something different about scrolling after all!! Before switching to Android, the last iOS I had used was iOS 6. I recently switched back to iOS but felt that the scrolling physics were different from the last time I used iOS 6. I like the new scrolling. It was one of my biggest complaints about iOS 6 because you had to constantly keep scrolling to reach the end of the page. This is something that Android has done better since years. Glad to see Apple has also implemented it
What? Android is completly Trash on scrolling indirekt comparsion and this since years, Android is slower, chopper, and no option to instant go back to the top of the Website, just pain in the a... if you are normaly use ios...
@@Eddy_E. scrolling on Android is not laggy wtf. If you are using a flagship Android phone, scrolling is buttery smooth and has been since Android Lollipop. About going back to top of the page, Android scrolling speeds are much faster and scrolling physics has less friction. So 2 big swipes and you’ll be on top of the page. Have you even used an Android flagship before?
@@PurushNahiMahaPurush when this only works on latest Tech devices then its just shabby in comparsion to iOS, that was what i mean...
And yes i do, thats why i said that scrolling on Android is just pain in the a...😅
And i know this Feature but the lists i talked about seems to be a bit longer if you think cuz on none system is there just swipe 1 or 2 Times, If that would work the scrolling behavior should be nearly to unuseable for average use...
U should do a benchmark
I’ve an iPhone 6s Plus Rose Gold 64GB, it’s on iOS 15
iOS 9 was during the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, I was thinking about the same as iOS 15 was during the Concealed the Conclusion wasn't sure if you were updating iPhone 6 Plus
U should try a benchmark
I’m using iPhone XR but sometimes I really miss ios 9 it was best iOS upgrade of all time
we needed benchmarks too like antutu or geek bench and games perfomance.
will my IPhone be bricked if i install IOS 9 on a iPhone 6 just the OG I'm looking to jailbreak (downgrading this is LEGAL it passed a bill while that jailbreaking is legal) just wondering because like IOS 9
Amazing it still pretty much the same system (inteface),companies like samsung have changed several times trying to find one that fits, from touchwiz to samsung experience, to one ui.
The other impressive thing, of course that thing from 16 still able to handle an OS from 2022
The reason of that is because they're trying to find the best minimalist and efficient way, something it did apple at its first years of debut but not the rest of the companies
I wouldn't say Apple not changing their interface is some amazing thing. It's simple and boring which is why people like it. People who want to customize everything and create their own interface buy android phones.
Would say its a good thing that they stopped updates for the iP6s and iP7 at iOS 15 - on iOS 16 they would struggle. At least they learnt from what happened with the A5 chip.
@@thedeutschman9905 also the iPhone 4s SUCKS on iOS 9 💀🤣

Which one consume more battery?
Please make Camera review for this

I was still perfectly happy using my 6s on iOS 15 (with a charging case) until just recently when I finally upgraded to the 13 mini due to Apple not supporting the 6s once iOS 16 comes out. I’d still be using the 6s if it was going to run iOS 16 as to me it is still a good phone and was more than fulfilling everything I wanted it to.
I'm still run ios 13 on my iphone 6s plus, its any good on ios 15.6 ? It's getting slower ios 15.6?
@@itsyou3270 I actually haven’t used my 6s now since it was on iOS 15.4 so I can’t say how it would do on 15.6. However on 15.4 I found it worked just fine and I assume it would be good on all iOS 15 updates as the 6s is supported until iOS 16 arrives.
