Bisping is always talking about all of his surgeries, knees, neck, etc. and he lost an eye and told no one he just kept fighting. He gave everything to fighting. His career aged like fine wine.

@@bongoking5850 Bisping has told the stories about having to fake his way through eye tests with the fight doctors to make sure he can still keep fighting cause he had a family to support. Dude is a savage.

Le was 42 at this point. It's amazing that he beat Franklin. His earlier career in kickboxing was incredible.
Take a look at the guy though. No disrespect intended to folks from Vietnam, but they just don’t tend to have that sort of bulked up physique. It’s obvious that he didn’t get that big from just eating a lot of Phó.
@@rsoul7282 I don't doubt that he used, especially looking like that at 42. I am a believer that most mma fighters historically have used peds though. It's probably the cleanest that it's ever been today.

To destroy competition or go undefeated is one thing, but to take some hard losses, change weight classes, lose an eye, and come back to become middleweight champion is a monumental accomplishment. I was never a huge Bisping fan, but after his career I am a lifetime supporter. I remember laughing when Henderson KO'd him, but now understand the true heart and determination behind Bisping. Serious legend.
Agree on everything. I did not understand or appreciate Bisping in the early days. Only now can I appreciate him. Much like society and Mike Tyson right now.
@@jordanbabcock9349 Yeah good point. Bisping was a superficial villain though, probably always a good guy. Tyson had some rough years and spent prison time. I really like Mike, but he did get convicted at one point.
With respects because I ain't being a dick with you but I have noticed that most of the people who either didn't like him or was a bit mehh towards him were people either from the states or people from other countries, and that's fair enough because a lot of us British think that a lot of US as well as other nations fighter's are tossers or we are a bit mehh towards them, Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, and Tito Ortiz were all for want of a better explanation......tossers. Those three I just mentioned had serious chip's on their shoulders but hey I'm just saying and after all its not a conflict between us I'm just saying that a lot of people who didn't like MB was from a totally different country altogether. That knock out from Hendo that was some serious knock out man ffs he even got a follow up of a full bodyweight smash down into his boat race. I stayed up to watch that I was devastated when it didn't go to plan for Bisping but hey that's the sport, and at the end of the day you gotta know that it takes an extra special athlete to go a whole career undefeated, well......that and a good load of other factors like the best regimen and training, the best diet that works for you, a good trainer and a good camp, and you gotta be prepared to go all the way balls deep and give it your all because once that cage door shuts your mom ain't coming for you your on your own and you are fighting for a lot more than just a purse. Micheal Bisping was a true warrior he did more for the sport in the UK than people sometimes mention. Beat Anderson Silva and had some epic battles, UFC hall of famer, was straight up and said what he thought, and he's a family man and a gentleman too what more can a fighter achieve in the octagon? Anyway respect m8.

I was a huge strikeforce fan and was a super big Bisping hater at this time and thought Cung was gonna destroy Bisping 🤣🤣🤣 boy was I wrong , Bispings late career run to the title was legendary and truly inspiring to never give up hope on your dream

Not only beat a guy who was on HGH, but did it with one eye. Bet he's glad he never had to fight in New York or California more often as his career wouldn't have been possible with the lack of vision Bisping had.
His second to last fight was in New York against GSP. He was cheating the tests apparently by memorising the letters on the test and had his team helping him too.
It's funny when you look at older clips of him, like in this video when he was fighting Cung Lee and you look at that eye ... and you wonder how the hell he got away with it.

This was a great showing by Bisping. You could tell in the interview his eye was fucked. And I never realized until now that the lighting in the octagon was weird. Lots of shadows.
I was a typical Bisping hater at this point in time, and thought Cung Lee would knock him out in some crazy fashion. The Bisping mauled him, then knocked out Rockhold and beat Anderson Silva. So it really puts his whole career in a different light. If he never fought anybody who was a cheater, he might be undefeated.
if UFC never had that cheater's era. Bisping will definitely get that belt by around 2010-2012. I think Anderson without roids is still a damn good fighter but his reign of terror will fall short because MW was very stacked back then.

Been wanting to re-watch this, he's(Bisping) mentioned it on his YT-channel a couple of times as one of his favorite performances. He has a version of this fight on there, but it's so poorly edited.. I would've preferred the full fight, but I'll take this, thanks :)
Bisping man what a guy, what an athlete, what a true warrior. He is the type of athlete/warrior that makes me proud to be an englishman. Micheal Bisping did more for UK MMA than people sometimes recognise. He had a bad eye problem and was truly impaired after losing it from the Rockhold fight I believe it was and he still went out there into the true testing ground and he still owned most of his battles. That Dan Henderson fight that was some serious hardcore knock out man and another full weight of body smash straight into Bispings boat race and he still came back into that Octagon and impressed people, bold as brass and a gentleman champion, and at least he was straight up and spoke his mind. UFC Hall of Famer too what more can a fighter do to be known he's a true champion. Another fight that was epic was the Anderson Silva fight that was some cool fight that was, Bisping was put on his arse at least once in that fight and he still came through strong. Great fighter great guy he deserves his respect.

In my opinion Cung Le should have been either lightweight or a welterweight fight not a middleweight. Cung Le like Frankie Edgar wanted to fight at his walking weight as Cung weighted 187lbs off camp & had to cut only 1lbs to make the middleweight limit.

Bisping looked so good this fight, plenty of kicks, good footwork, nice variety of punches aswell.

Cung Lee came off some impressive perfornmances before the fight with bisping.. He wasnt quite done yet.. but i guess the beating from Bisping changed that.

Bisping has said this is his second favorite fight other than the Silva one. While people are going to trash Cung Le for PED usage, most people were during that time, so many fans gave these fighters a pass. What is worth noting is Cung Le is one of the handful of fighters who are currently in a lawsuit with the UFC that will change the sport and improve fighter rights.

Bidding was a young , dirty fighter who fouled many fighters .cung le was 42 and that was a retired age
man watching Le at this point in his career is kinda sad. Everything is slow by then. Hands, footwork, reaction. Its like an nba player, fast decline once father time comes knocking. Prime Le and his scissor take downs were fun to watch but i dont think it was built for UFC by any means but truly fun to watch
You can clearly see Cung was on PEDs but that backfired as he bulked too much and his timing was off from lack of speed. Shows technique beats aggression even if opponent is on juice, Vitor was something different though much more lethal than Cung with his speed
PEDs or not Cung Le was also in his 40’s in this fight, so there’s that too.
Bisping with age and at his tail end couldn’t do much with technique when a shorter stubby Mexican guy came forward and KO’d him. It’s been awhile since I watched that fight, but that’s how I recall it.
I wish Cung Le would have gone to the UFC at least 3 years earlier.

Cung le wasn't ready for MMA he uses his old wushu tricks which have all been utilized by bisping and his team in that particular fight. I would say that if Cung le was more of a versatile fighter that is willing to adapt more ground skills and western boxing into his game he would have been a very dangerous opponent.
