This guy is a huge inspiration, from zero to hero. Truly the people's champion
No he isnt
@@VolkerDrachhe is
No, he isn't.
Nah
Bunch of salty asses right here, the champion has a name
IMHO one of the reasons he was giving up mentally is that he was cutting to 145. He often had and still has bad weightcuts and being phisically exhausted doesn't help to deal with whatever mental problems he was having at the time.
Weight cutting sucks shouldn’t even be a thing all it does is let dudes bigger fight smaller people.
the way he reacted to that Swanson knockout was straight up the result of being malnourished
also this was back when they were cutting weight the wrong way and UFC didn't have experts monitoring their health and their weight-cut, this is back when Khabib got hospitalized and looked like he's dying during press conference and needed 2 years to recover and almost retired(which means 145 Charles was kinda close to having the same thing happen to him, just look how frail he looks even after a day and a half of rehydration)
hell I'd go as far as saying that Charles' chin would be better today if it weren't for these weight-cuts and knock-outs, I'm no scientist but the brain damage is gotta be at least 2x when they have zero fluid around their skull
part of why Gaethje still has a decent chin after eating so many shots from top 5 LWs over the last 6 years is how he used to cut less than other top lightweights(not anymore, he's bigger now), aside from having a head as big as my speaker with that Homer Simpson headshape.
thanks for reading my book guys, appreciate it
@@Ar1AnX1xperfectly said
Whoa I never knew he was cutting to 145!!
@@Ar1AnX1xyou aren’t a scientist but you are correct😂 when dehydrated your brain shrinks resulting in more space in the skull. This leads to more room for the good ol control center to get knocked around in its case
He is one of the most entertaining fighter. Never, ever in a boring fight. Always moves forward and super agressive. I love watching him fight. His style is really kill or die.
You can see the difference in his eyes, he has a new level of determination
Performance Enhancing Drugs
I'll be honest, I was 1 of those people who thought he'd never amount to much. I've seen his whole career and hes made me a fool. From quitting in there, to almost dying in there, to being a world champion. Breaking records while doing and finishing people like its nothing. Hes truly an inspiration to never give up on yourself
One of the most storied careers of an MMA fighter I can think of. He entered the UFC as a promising undefeated 155 prospect before subsequent setbacks would turn him from a prospect into a 155 journeyman. Then going down in weight to 145 and assuming a gatekeeper role in the division, with mixed success both in the cage and on the scale. Later moving back up to 155 back into his journeyman role initially going 1-1 in the division, but then he went on an absolute tear in his next 11 fights becoming not just a top contender, but an undisputed champion and a defending champion, shedding off his prior reputation completely.
Although he did lose the title to a better fighter, his career is far from over.
@@madgavin7568👏👏👏👏👏👏😺
Olivera then: easy work
Olivera now: you better put me all the way out
One of Charles' biggest strengths is that when he gets dropped by a striker he can just lay on his back with his feet in the air and nobody wants to follow him down, so he gets a chance to recover. I think that was critical in Islam finally cracking him, keeping that pressure on even as Charles was hurt to get the submission.
Yes, good grapplers can folow Charles in the ground.
Sure, and that's why Islam will 100% stop him again: Oliveira gets dropped in every fight, but Islam won't let him sit on the ground and recover, he'll hurt him on the feets and then finish him on the ground again. The saddest part is that Oliveira couldn't even negotiate for the fight to not be in dubai.
@@Narcan885 yeah, this is the moment when you cant reach Charles, if you can drop him whit a good punch, chase in in the ground and you can beat him, even chok him.
@@Narcan885 Charles will knock him out this time. Rushed way too much on the feet last time, as long as he's patient can't see him losing.
@@daredevil953 I0m sorry but i don't see it. He didn't really rush or anything last time, he fought like he always does. His chute boxe is just bad. He never moves his head which is why everyone knocks him down. machakev's standup is just too much better, he has too much more power. He'll also use IVs to rehydrate as he's used to and he'll be allowed to in his backyard. The only remote chance for Oliveira was if he managed to have the fight be in Brazil.
shows you how mental the fight game is. His technique is more or less the same, but his mindset in approaching fights have completely changed the results of his bouts.
He doesn't fight the same
@@gamebred6995he also moved to lightweight
He’s a very high level striker now and somehow has hands of concrete he also likes to use the Thai style now
@@jdt8164Multiple fights shown earlier were at 155
@@KDTtheone Oh didn’t realize that, thanks
Most exciting fighter I've ever seen alongsides Prime McGregor. With all these upsets happening these days, Oliveira beating Makhachev would be the sweetest one ever.
He’s gonna do it bro trust me
him, Jiri and Alex Pereira right now are very fun to watch
Alex Volkanovski is also a prime example of a very technical high level fighter being also fun to watch
@@ryangallagher3291It’s hard to imagine Islam losing but with all these upsets lately, anything is possible!
Oliveira beating Makhachev and Costa beating Chimaev needs to happen. I will root for them lol
Nope .. keep dreaming brazil
0:28 Mannnn what a nasty shot to the body by cowboy. The way he set that up was just gorgeous imo
Good stuff as always! Would love to see you post a video of Bobby Green's boxing and head movement!!
With all of these upsets lately I can begin to imagine a world where Oliveira and Stipe pull it off!!
I have a good feeling that they will be the New champions. Just like how no one believed in Sean but he did the impossible
@@beastmotozat that point we need to start questioning if the UFC is becoming the new WWE
@@heightdevil according to long-term business view point. It wouldn't be a bad idea at all.
Stipe doesn't have much a of a chance. He's too old and he's been out for too long, and his opponent is Jon Jones. Say what you want about JBJ, but he's one of the GOAT's of this sport.
Charles has a chance but Islam is a foil to his style.
@@madgavin7568 Bigger upsets have happened. And at heavyweight if Stipe can land a flush shot he could rattle Jon. Not saying it will happen, or even likely to happen, but you can never say there’s no chance in MMA
One of the most inspirational journeys of an MMA fighter ever. The man later on in his journey indeed became illuminated by God himself 🙏
Yes and his journey must end on a good point. When he wins back the LW title
he will my friend@@beastmotoz
Both Chandler and Charles had a destiny to fulfill in that fight, and I was so glad it was Charles who won. I think Chandler is going to be an unbearable champ.
I don't know much bout chandler and never cared much either but he seems like a solid dude so how so?
Rather have Chandler as champion over Charles
Chandler aint winning no belt bro. Not in the ufc
bro used to look like he's never considered Defense to be a thing that exists in nature
oliveira: black hair vs blonde hair
That's that super sayan stuff man I'm telling you.
Those knees to dustins body were like knives
Took the wind out of his sails.
My favourite Oliveira "getting dropped moments" will always be the ones against Gaethje, specially the second one where Justin just runs to end other end of the cage altogether.
The Chandler fight was wild, Charles was like the terminator
how does a man go from being so fucking hurt in the first round and arguably having almost a 10-8 against him, to knocking out the other fighter in round 2. Its insane. but i love it
@@konflict1231 for real I thought he was done the first time he got dropped 😂
hot take: I think he was already in his prime when Felder beat him, like it was around that time that he became a beast, and he almost got the finish, obviously he kept improving but he already looked almost like Prime Oliveira even in that fight but people don't consider it Prime Oliveira because he got finished but the problem for him was how Felder was bigger than him but also had very decent Grappling defense, I thought Oliveira did great in that fight despite getting finished.
paul felder is super underrated he could be champ but made the smart decision to retire for his health
Felder wasn't afraid to grapple either, just like Islam.
It's a good point to make. Hate that some people disregard a fighter's skill based on a loss alone.
@@truman368 Not champion material

The most amazing thing ever
Cowboy was smart he didn’t care how good the ground game was when you are seeing stars it’s hard to fight back
He learned how to grab the strength of the UFC legends from the canvas, he connects with the ancestral gods of MMA everytime hes knocked down.
A heart forged through trials and tribulations. You don´t see that often.
It's hard, not to love this guy.
Never quit, ever. eventually someone will pick up your pieces and make something out your failure in there future.
He is best you know he from poor family and never give up to his goal true inspiration for all
Brazilian legend
What I think the case with Charles is is the same thing that heppens when you first start going to the gym: you have great difficulty going to failure in a given exercise because you're new to it and the mental fortitude, aside from the physical one, it demands is too much, but as you do it more and develop a better mind-muscle connection, you start to slowly tap into the ability to go a little harder each time until you can go to failure not easily, but concisouly. When Charles got into the UFC, he was young and didn't have a lot of experience with the mental aspect of the fights, but as he gained more, he evolved from the little kitten he was before to the lion he is today
Please do a video on jose aldo next
So well done. Normally guys don't improve in this facet at this age; what's different about oliveira??
He got dat dawg in him
💚💛 Guerreiro Charles, vc nos orgulha...vida longa.
Cub Swansen one he straight up just gave up. But the rest, he learned and got tougher!
the change of his hair color, meaning he become in super saiyan mode
Chandler might be the most underrated Grappler in the UFC right now
I still don't understand how he got submitted(obviously Dustin's got great BJJ)
he looked like he's easily hand fighting, the he looked at the ref or something and Dustin sneaked his arm in, it was almost like Chandler was so gassed he lost concentration for a second, there's a reason this was the first time he was ever submitted and handled Oliveira well on the ground on his back, the Dustin fight was different because he got concussed and broke his nose which means instant and constant fatigue from then on, I think that left straight that shattered his nose was why he submitted Chandler, not Dustin's BJJ, I genuinely don't think in a regular day he can submit Chandler, maybe Charles or Makhachev can, but not Dustin
Chandler was so gassed and hurting from all that damage that Dustin inflicted, in the Charles fight, chandler was fresh and could all use his energy to defend Charles sub attempts imo
Imo the only one that you could say he quit was maybe the Felder fight but even In that he was done but it’s great to see a guy who maybe had a little quit in him to now being known for being dropped and coming back
By fighter standards he quit on all of them.
Props to him for pulling a 180 from that.
Please include in Now Makhachev
Paul Felder was an animal.
Only stoppage loss was a doctor stoppage duo to a cut against Massaraduba Trinaldo.
He reminds me of a soccer player, sooks it a lays down sooking it
Charles Oliviera is the human version of parasite bcs of that kind submission
Charles é grande inspiração para a vida. Ele passou por muitas dificuldades, superou uma grave doença, venceu a pobreza e hoje está com uma vida digna. Ele merece!
Look at the dude in red 7:56 on the left struggling to take a video lol man was struggling
Olivera then is me in college right now, I am going to improve 🤝
Honestly he just found out how to go super saiyan. The hair color tells the story.
Felder has crazy underrated submission defence
We need a charles striking evolution
Pro striking did an awesome job with analyzing his stand up, one of the best
@@tannermcguire7713 thanks lad
Oliveira is gonna get the belt again.
Goldy and Joe.. we miss you Goldy
3:22 damn i can see the pain in his eyes. He thought he would never make champion 😔
Beat at end of video ? Shit lowkey knock
Olivera has nothing to lose anymore
Khabib even said that, which is why its likely the rematch with Islam might well be more competitive than last time.
I am worried the UFC will shut down this channel once you get enough notoriety. Hopefully they never catch wind of this dope channel
A lot of people know this but don’t know the severity. Charles is legally blind without those glasses, and sadly there’s no cure! He could barely see decent out of one eye! Imagine fighting at this high of a lever with one eye that’s not as blurry as the other?! Respect.
There is a cure, he got a surgery now he can see good
@@ey845 thanks for the clarification, I suffer from the degenerative disease! Maybe there’s hope after all?! 🙏🏽
I’m nearly blind in one eye and my vision is quite poor in the other. Wrestling was the only sport I could play without being useless. Even then it hurts your coordination pretty bad
Joined chute boxe and had a daughter after the felder fight
We gotta remember in his later fight he got hit by big puncher like chandler, Dustin, Justin
Damn what do you call his chin good or bad? He gets dropped alot but recover from his stuns quickly.
Max Holloway video when????
I know his title reign was short. But those 3 fights he had were the best 👍👍
Maybe I’m not familiar with Oliveras game but it looked like what got him finished was all the ground and pound and maybe those clips weren’t shown for later fights but they didn’t get on him
They didn't want to go to the ground with him. Justin and Dustin both wanted him to stand back up. I think Dustin could have won had he landed GnP, but he was afraid to test the waters. Islam and Chandler were among the only ones not afraid to follow him to the floor.
@@adriansawyer8346 Dustin could follow up but i think charles would just stop everything he try just like he did with Dariush, he ended up on his back and started fucking him up from below
@@Ottoni174 he was rocked when Dustin dropped him, and almost every time he was finished on the ground he was hurt. Dariush never had him hurt.
He also didn't do anything to Dariush from below. They were exchanging punches, and Olivera went for a few leg locks. The most that was done were the upkicks, but they never hurt Dariush. The standing headkick was where things went wrong for Dariush. Dariush blocked it, but it still seemed to wobble him.
I'm not saying Dustin would have definitely gotten the stoppage. I'm saying people can't let him recover on the ground if they want a decent chance at beating him.
If Dustin goes to the ground with Charles and Charles isn't hurt, that's definitely a bad idea.
It's weird how I always rooted against this guy since his ufc debut. He is always matched up against my favs. Plus the commentary hype ended up annoying me along with his face.
ROSE LIKE A PHOENIX AND FINISHED ALL IN HIS DIVISION🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤DE BRONX IS ONE OF THE BEST OF LIGHTWEIGHT
Oliveira waits and starts lighting him up on the feet in the late rounds when Makhachev is tiring after early wrestling exchanges, Oliveira has equalized the wrestling and forced this fight to be standing. Makhachev is tiring and goes for a panic shoot but gets stuffed, Oliveira starts tapping him with shots and drops him with a strike that sits him down and then takes his back and strangles him to regain his championship.
from your lips to god's ears. LFG CHUTE BOX
do you actually think makhachev is gonna be tired from 5 rounds
If freaking Volks couldn’t tire Islam fighting his first ever 5 round fight arguably against the best cardio machine, doubt Charles has anything to offer to squeeze Islam’s juice out. Charle’s only way is to catch Islam and make him reckless.
Wishful thinking.....
@@mdm9096 Charles needs to attack and leave and then repeat til Islam makes a mistake striking, he was nullifying his ground game really well on the first round but he gor reckless and threw that supid flying knee that never worked on someone backing up and got tagged badly, i think if he fights being agressive but taking his time he can pull it off
3:00 that was tuff to watch..
excited for the fight next month, really think islam is his biggest rival yet but im praying that oliveira wins that one, he deserves it.
3:22 that face tell the whole fckn story❤
Why didn’t you show Islam fight 😂😂
the problem is now when he gets dropped no one follows him to his guard because they are scared, but islam followed him, and we all know what happened...
It helped that he got dropped hard before Islam subbed him, Oliveira wasn't able to defend properly. I still give Islam the edge in a rematch, but after upsets like we saw last night, there's still a big chance Oliveira wins the rematch.
The only one who didn't follow him recently was Gaethje. Everyone else followed him, and everyone else had to deal with submission attempts and getting their posture broken, even Islam in round 1. You have to almost KO Oliveira and jump on him within a couple of seconds. It's more a credit to Islam's striking and well roundedness.
1:24 When Shang Tsung says Finish Him but you don't do anything
Paul felder fought Charles like everyone should lol. Everyone gives him hella respect or are scared lol
The Chute Box effect ♡
My GOAT ♡
Most entertaining fighter ever.
He stopped trying to play BJJ and worked to his feet or attacked
Dan let felder put it on him, with that ground and pound.
Never liked the Felder finish… he clearly did those elbows BECAUSE he felt a tap. Which is crazy to me. But I feel he didn’t have the mental capacity back then at 145 because he didn’t cut weight properly. But it’s rare for a fighter to fight by there natural weight which is why Frankie Edgar is top 3 BMF in UFC history to me 🤷🏿♂️ bro fought above his natural weight and won the belt AND defended it
People's champ
All I got from watching this is that Michael Chandler is probably the most entertaining fighter to ever be in MMA.
Its the blonde hair man im telling you right now!!
He was cutting lots of weight, so it affected his performance, he was not a weight bully, 😂😂😂😂
unrelated but I just realized Izzy f***ed up by not going and training with Pereira
Pereira offered him to teach him that untelegraphed leg kick, and he could have definitely tell him a bunch of things that would help him against Strickland, but he's Narcissist and an egomaniac like pretty much all other fighters, instead Strickland went and pick Pereira's brain and it obviously improved him, I genuinely think training and talking strategy with Pereira helped him more than people realize, the guy has fought Izzy 4 times, he knows him inside and out, he's even followed Izzy to the shadow realm, there's no secrets Alex doesn't know, and better leg kicks would have at least disrupted Strickland's comfortability to a degree
1:27 OHHHHH, BIG SHOT BY FELTZER, HE'S ON WOBBLY LEGS MIKE
Mike: Joe you m***n, I think you gave me the wrong dosage of edibles, I feel like I'm floating in air
Joe: OOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, HE'S IN TROUBLE
How come some fighters get released cause of their losses but charles didnt? (Im glad he didnt btw)

Love Charles with all my souls but I think he started PED’S and then his career when straight up. The strenght and power that he gained from 2017 to 2021 is just insane
As the Undisputed Goat Chael Sonnen said men go through a 2nd round of puberty around age 27 28! This is when they get that “ Grown Man strength” or Dad Strength so it probably was that.

you do realise he was very young when he got into the ufc, he just grew into a man and got better.
i didn't realize he got rocked this much against poirier, chandler, and gaethje. i thought he is just a dominant champ. after watching the full fights, i don't think he is in the same level as volk and islam.
