Olena Halushka - Russia is Creating a Hell on Earth in Ukraine, making Ukrainian Victory Essential

- The approach to supporting Ukraine which Western leaders have been taking so far has been „as long as it takes“. The lack of a clearly defined end goal impacted the pace and scale of the assistance, as well as raised questions on its efficiency. It cannot last this way in the protracted war as Ukraine’s mobilisation potential and resources are shorter than Russia’s. Instead, a clear commitment of the West to aid Ukraine with „whatever it takes for a fast victory“ is the only way to return sustainable peace back to Europe.

How the whole world isn’t on board for the Ukrainians but can take action in the Middle East just baffles me
Additionally, it's complicated. Some people support Isrsel, others Hamas. Some people support Ukraine, others ruzzia. Then there's a weird mix of people who care about one but not the other, or something as crazy as supporting Ruzzia and Israel (maga) OR supporting Hamas and Ukraine (far left/woke). Then there are those who don't give a toss about either.

I hope all the people around the world unwilling to help Ukraine get the memo that their country's moral depravity and leadership vacuum now will lead to
- more countries seeking nukes to defend themselves,
- more autocrats opting to try bite off bits they also want of their neighbors, and
- less economic stability for world trade, whose foundation is geopolitical predictability.
Even if you have a heart only for your own clan, inaction now is so damaging to any future that features rule of law.

You are totally right Olana,it is exactly as you say. The West was much to undecided and even now it does not help as needed. They should have delivered 500 planes, 500 tanks and everything else needed for Ukraine to win. Here the West failed totally.
Excellent reporting.
Slava Ukraine ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm American, and deeply distressed that the US has dropped the ball for so long. I must ask, though, why Europe in general chose to not take large steps to " close the skies " in the beginning, as Pres. Zelensky pled. The Ukranians have always known what they needed and what Russia intended. I can't help thinking that the west is soft and spoiled, thus a perfect victim for predators.
Maybe because that would have meant WW3? Quite simply We are closer to The Russian Nazi state than the USA is. And so minds were focussed on not escalating the conflict. Whether this was right or wrong the history books will tell. What is not at doubt is that the shitty MAGA wing of republican politics is frankly in a love in with tyrants and so has sold Ukraine down the river.
@@jadec2734Our society is more transparent with electorate.. Putin with propaganda knows our weaknesses and strength, he plays on *our* fears.. we have a stronger army and nukes too.. ! he can do what he likes with impunity now cos we're the ones that are telling him what we cant do and are backing down..
In fear of escalation, Europe chickened out. Recently, Europe has stepped up its measures against Russia, slowly but surely. In my mind, too slowly. Hopefully, European politicians get a grip on themselves and give Ukraine what it needs to win this war and fast! I'm European myself.
*The House moves !* Democrats helped speaker Mike Johnson get Ukraine funding out of committee and scheduled for a floor vote Saturday. There is something like 70% support in the house for Ukraine aid, this whole thing has been held up by a minority of freedom caucus aligned representatives.
This means that there will be a pretty good timeline for support _actually getting to Ukraine_ and the generals can start making plans right away.
It would be poetic if they succeed in tacking on the motion repealing the idiotic rule that any clown can make a motion to vacate the speaker at any time.
@@WackadoodleMalarkey It looks like they floated that but didn't get enough support. The rules governing the Rules Committee are ... opaque to me.
316 to 94! That's what I call a clear message.
All that sounds positive, but we have been here before.
Mike J doesn’t deserve any credit - he just wanted to keep his job and it was on the line with the motion to dismiss/vacate gaining traction, he obstructed for months! 🙄 and “the generals can *start* making plans”? Nah, nah ha, that’s not how that works at all, equipment was pre-positioned in Poland and ready to go already…do you really think they were sitting on their hands this whole time and suddenly starting to make plans?! Tell us you’ve never served without telling us! SMH, how naive and ignorant you are, so childish! 🤦🏼♂️
Olena, love the hair! Haven't finished listening as it's very late in US, but I've never seen you more glamorous.
Hi! Olena, you are a wise and insightful woman, and I totally agree with you! Ukraine should get all the help it needs to win this war and fast! If we let Russia win this war, it's a catastrophe for all the world, especially Europe. I wish you all the best! Keep on keeping on, you rock!
It’s so frustrating to hear this entirely sensible view yet somehow it has to be argued over and over🤷♂️
yep! and many of us having been listening to related ideas for more than two years already, and writing our rep's and senators etc etc, to little avail !! Yes the american gvt has a lot on its plate now, to put it mildly. But the militaries of at least ten of the Nato countries are the lead nations in Nato, called the J10. These countries can possibly mount a coalition operation to assist Ukr if Ru does not stop this increasing assault on truely crucial infrastructure that they destroyed recently, namely one plant in Kharkiv, and to some extent another plant in Kiev. The increasing targeting of Odesa and nearby is also extremely damaging and problematic for Ukr, and so many of us having been persistently explaining to american leaders (and others have been explaining to european leaders) that if we cannot stop approx this level of damage level, then the situation can pretty quickly become untenable for Ukr's military, and that is unacceptable to us in the West, who at this point do have an obligation to secure at least what Ukr consists of at the moment. Many of us in the months before the invasion knew that the prior fiveish years had showed american passivity or weakness, namely when Trump got the US military out of Black Sea instantly the moment Ru fired upon Ukrainian naval ships near the Kerch strait, before the bridge was built. So, yeah Trump started the weak impression, and Ru knew exactly what sort of political vulnerabilities the US had, particularly maybe after Jan 6th. Anyway, part of the real problem now is that the delays in getting the right equipment to Ukr has cost some of the best Ukr soldiers and officers their lives. These ppl were the bravest, often well educated members of Ukr society. Many were the top of the brightest and most creative. (whereas weak-willed and cowardly very able-bodied young men left or didn't return to Ukr when the war started. So, when Ukr says its losing its best, most of us don't grasp how profoundly true that is!!!) We need to get truely capable weapons and any know-how or intell we have, into Ukr hands. And if that does't work, then a coalition needs to start rapidly planning direct assistance to Ukr, if Ukr wants it. This is life, whether we like it or not.
JON HOOD GOOD FOR YOU - KEEP UP GOOD WORK THANK YOU
There is a division in the Republican Party in the US over support for Ukraine, where there was no division over support for Israel and Republicans have the power in the House currently which is where the budget or appropriations are made. But, Mitch McConnell lit a fire under Mike Johnson and aid will be approved for Ukraine, hopefully soon. I hope we can send enough aid and Military equipment, soon enough for Ukraine victory. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦🇺🇲
House vote tomorrow !! Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦🇺🇲
316 to 94 votes to proceed, that's what I call a clear message.

She’s right. If the sanctions against Russian oil worked, we shouldn’t need Russian oil already. Meanwhile, OPEC is cutting production to keep prices high.
If Ukraine eliminates Russia’s oil terminal preventing Russia from exporting their oil, oil per will increase without OPEC reducing production, which means that OPEC won’t have to cut production.
It’s about time that Ukraine start enforcing mandatory sanctions on Russia that are impossible for Russia to circumvent.
It’s time for Ukraine to implement sanctions that are impossible for Russia to circumvent.

The legislative branch of American democracy is a slow, 18th century, baroque, flavor of democracy. Watching floor debate in the House, finally, EVERYBODY is given a chance to speak and/or object.
Why does this woman have better understanding of military strategy, geopolitics and have more balls than literally EVERY SINGLE politician and military commander in my nation?
It sounds hyperbolic but I think listening to her points here, I agree 100% with almost everything, and have held similar views for 2 years, its so nice to hear someone with a public voice express clarity.
Zero emotional reflection or empathy is needed to arrive at these conclusions too, the strategies of appeasement and constant one sided de-escalation combined with half hearted efforts and timidity are so obviously going to maximise costs and minimize profits on a cultural/societal scale. It is truly baffling how inept the elites of the western world has become, their only saving grace is that they aren't actively cruel and generally can be trusted to keep agreements, though UK and US failure to uphold the spirit of the Budapest memorandum has put a serious crack in that too.
In the future, only nukes will keep you safe, not the guarantees of other nations, thats the message sent on repeat at full volume.
Yes. Nuclear disarmament was a big mistake.
The nuclear weapons in Ukraine were Russian, not Ukrainian.
The Budapest Agreement was violated by the Americans who stole all the gold from the Ukrainian Central Bank in 2014, while the Budapest Agreement stated that none of the signatories to the agreement may forcefully influence the economy of Ukraine.
And if you want a nuclear war, no problem, you're not the only one.
I only know who has used nuclear bombs so far.
You don't have to accept what I wrote at all. I don't see any problem there.
You just need to go to Ukraine and explain it to the Russians.
@@markojuric4954 "Americans who stole all the gold from the Ukrainian Central Bank in 2014" - where did you get that idea from?
She’s got very strong and meaningful arguments. She’s absolutely right about time. Time is of the essence in any war. You don’t give your enemy enough time to regenerate and get back at you with a lot more experience, while avoiding the repeat of past mistakes. Providing your enemy with time amounts to arming them! Particularly when your enemy is such a resourceful country like Russia.
"Game changing is about timeliness and in sufficient quantities."
Great voice reveals greath truth of all times! We need to understand it now and most importantly act on it immediately if we want to free the democracy from the threat of imperialistic aggression.
And this is not hard or impossible because it is the goodwill of all allied nations that is needed.

A brief history of the confrontation.
Globalists are against the Russian people.
2007 - Putin, speaking in Munich, accuses the West of unleashing wars, organizing color revolutions, and destroying the world order.
2008 - The West launched a war against Russia, killing 79 Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia.
2014 - The West organized a coup in Ukraine, brought the Nazi junta to power there, began to destroy the Russian-speaking majority in Ukraine and arm Ukraine, preparing it for an attack on Russia.
2007-2022 - The West is trying to sway protests in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, trying to carry out coups in these three countries.
2022 - The Bandera junta attacks the independent republics of Donbass and starts a war. 8 days later, Russia invades Ukraine and begins an operation to protect the republics of Donbass.
2024 - Russia liberates the Russian lands of Ukraine from Nazi occupiers, the standard of living in Russia is high, the standard of living in the West has collapsed, the whole world is on Russia's side against the West.

PM question time in UK is far more entertaining.
The Ukrainian ladies who speak on behalf of ukraine are always accurate and ' right on, the ball,' as they say. Olena Halushka is absolutely correct on all points. Politicians, influenced be the "leader" of the west (USA), have sought to manage de-escalation, appease the aggressor and slow walked aid from the very beginning. This is an indelible stain of shame on the west and has forever reduced the trust of many nations in the west with regards to the USA. Finally, this latest package of 60 billion "for Ukraine" (significantly less when the figures are actually analyzed) does not impress me. It is a small fraction of what what spent on the Iraq war. A far less legitimate war given no weapons of mass destruction were ever found.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a white guy. It still bothers me a lot that the genocide in darfur in Africa (sp) was watched by the whole world. And the whole world did nothing.
If other genocidal political action occurs in the rest of the world from now on, I would hope that as much attention is paid to third world countries populations as is the attention is paid to Ukraine.
Don't misunderstand me I do support Ukraine.
Because you are in the Russian zone of influence and Russia has over 6,000 nukes. May the Lord bless , protect and keep you.
Ukraine knew they should have kept ten mobile nuclear weapons just to detour Russia. I remember some Ukrainian saying so.
Infrastructure attacks on Kharkov took place cca 1 week ago. If what she's saying is true ("Russians destroyed ALL of the energy and heating facilities in the town"), how is it possible there is no mass exodus from Kharkov at this point, one week later?

How is it possible to win this war when Ukraine depends of outside resources?
Ukraine is a country where almost 50 million people lived in 1991 after the infernal communism. With the advent of democracy, the number of people living in Ukraine today dropped to around 30 million.
Listening to the video and reading a small part of the comments, my conclusion is that Ukraine will not end well, and the Ukrainian nation is also under scrutiny.
It would not be the first nation to disappear. In the area between the Caspian Sea and north of the Black Sea, from the eighth to the eleventh century, the state of Khazaria spread, and the Khazars disappeared and today are referred to as ghosts.
what a nonsense
Ivan, Russian Empire also disappeared and the remains of Russian Zombies are working hard to become ghosts, so what?
*making Ukraine victory PYRRHIC
Ivan, Ukraine is fighting for survival which can never be "PYRRHIC". An example of "PYRRHIC" was Russian capture of Bakhmut ruins at the cost of 20,000 Russian KIA which caused Wagner to march on Moscow.
What BS.
