- This episode is a vlog of our weekend trip to South Florida and Airbnb in Stuart. We had bad weather but we make the beast of it and catch some peacock bass and blue fish. Catch, clean, cook! Also Miami boat show footage.
Your dogs are real characters . Like the way you treat them like family .
I’d let them borrow my truck if they could drive lol
I think the fact that you bled it out and cleaned it properly. Made a huge difference in the results. Great job.
For sure
@@TugTrashOutdoors that is key to lot of fish, that people that don't like. That and cutting out that blood line, I love me some big bullred cooked in the oven with some cajun seasoning, and lemon. The key is to slow cook it and let it get tender.
Smoke it with apple wood and make a dip with cream cheese
You got it exactly right. Blues need to be bled, prepped, and eaten right off the bat. Our normal way is a smoked bluefish dip, or cooked after soaking in milk to pull some of the oily taste out of it. Another great video! Thanks as always.
Exactly!
Hello Krystal & Ian , so many of your fish and crab species are so similar ie; blue fish - tailor (teeth & scales different), blue crabs - (blue swimmers) very sweet love your work and family . QLD Gold Coast
Thanks so much
I bleed AND gut them and slushy ice them within around 5 minutes of bringing them in. I've read and it appears to be true that if you don't gut them, those powerful stomach acids start digesting the meat before too long and it all gets mushy. Now we keep every Bluefish we catch and as long as you fry, broil, grill or bake them within a few days after the bleeding and gutting, they are great, smoke em after that for A+ Fish dip. It works for me. My wife Judy and I are Jensen Beach/Stuart locals. We enjoy all of yall's videos. Keep on keepin on, 🙂
That makes sense! Thanks for the info
Love the puppies. You guy’s are great. Loved the video
Thanks so much
@26:46 when you held that up, just wow that looked killer!
Florida beatiful even in the rain. Just being out and about is a blast😅😅😅
yes sir
For buying a new boat, is love me, beat me ,heart me and make me wright bad checks .Never go into candy store with out the cash .As a old Marine, always be ready to improvise of what may be needed for your task. Always have a new tire for your trailer. The peacock bass are nice and are good to eat, but I remember caching Blues 3 to 4 feet long in the Bay in 1965 & 1966 on Bay roods with 90 lb. + lines and rock fish of the same weight or better. For over fishing has done them great harm in order to feed the people of today. But I still love you for what you do and never for get that.. Old, Master Gunnery SGT USMC .So I hope that I teach you and many others about the past.
🙌🏽🇺🇸
You remind me of when I was a kid and we used to have blues. Love your channel.🍀
Thanks!
I seen yall hanging with Bluegabe recently. Love the videos Tug. Keep it up!
Yep! Thanks
Food looked great place looked fantastic an you had a great time
I LOVE the dogs. My husband grew up with Boston terriers! Great video!
They are the best!
Hey Tug I caught some blues out from Port St Joe FL. tasted great fried in Zatarans . The same crap happens to you happens to me. I am the poster child for Murphy’s Law. Good show!!
Love St.Joe I’ll be there in May….I’ve always heard mixed reviews on eating blue fish and I was contemplating trying it next time down. May keep one and see what happens
Thansk!
lol, Crystal says a bad day fishing is better then a good day at work. What about you? On your good days at work you sometimes go fishing. Can’t beat that!!!!
Actually I take that back, a bad day fishing with your wife beats a good day fishing at work.
Loved your last 😊vidieo❤ make some more l always watch y'all, but this is the first time I comment ❤.I Always Tell my wife if we become millionaires we'll but you a bigger boat. That's how much we love ❤ your show
Thank you! We appreciate y'all
In my younger days we visited grandparents for a week in winter each year. Surf fished almost every day at Wabasso Beach and caught many blues and spanish mackeral. Thought tasted great! Would dig a pit and throw in, fill gunny sack on way out.
That is awesome! I have similar memories
Another banger!! I live in Maine and we used to catch 15-20+lb blues off the coast. I had one flopping on the deck and it hit my leg and tore me open. I didn't even feel it! Never tried eating it but I like the way you cooked it. One of the best topwater fish and yes a steel leader is required! Keep em' coming!
Oh wow!
Loved the vid guys, thank you:) Yes, we, at least I love the pups!!
Us too!
Dude! If it wasn’t for bad luck we wouldn’t have any luck at all!! lol
Road rangers are awesome! They saved my butt the last time we were in Florida. Still was an amazing trip! Tell Krystal congratulations on her first peacock bass!
Will do! Thanks Lee
When we watch your videos my brother the channel will never change ❤❤
We are always gonna be us!
Those big blue fish have teeth like Parhanas...Back in the early 80's lived in Yorktown Va...off of Chesapeake bay...those blues would come passing thru in October...we would catch them on cut up stank bunker...steel leaders...they were huge 16-20 lb..would bleed and clean em like you did get the red meat out...would bake in oven ...coat with Mayo...salt... pepper...cut up onion on top...squeeze lime or 🍋 lemon juice...delicious 😋 only came up for air while eating😂.was young then eat any fish 🐟 didn't even care 🤣 but I like the big blues baked like that.👍✅💯
I’m gonna try that!
Love you twos videos!!!!! Keep them coming!!!!!!!!
Thank you! Will do!
Had bluefish at the Sanitary Fish Market in Morehead City NC 20 years ago. It was wonderful. Have not had in since.
You need more!
We used to catch bluefish of the jetty’s in Vilano beach back in the late 80’s. They would corner the mullet on the rocks and just shred them fish. Got the brilliant idea to cast net them. Well, my net got shredded also!
Great memory!
We love the dogs!!!
Y’all are such a motivation, Crystal with a K, sorry hunny no one show’s up to the Vid to see Tug’s silverback gorilla neck and shoulders!!!!
Making the best of it ! Thanks for another great video.
Our pleasure!
Another nice video guys and thanks for sharing your reality with us. Tight lines!
Thank you
Getting to know all of the species available must take years. Thanks for the education!
When you just grow up in it you don’t even know your learning. Trick if to never believe you know everything
Thank you for sharing… Happy Wednesday from Islamorada.
Trade ya spots!
We ❤ the 🐶.... Lol
🙌🏽
Eff Dat@! The WEATHER
is beautiful!! That's fishing weather! 🎣
Yes it was!
Looks like another fun time video, Congrats Krystal in catching your first Peacock bass....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks You
Nice dinner, good times fishin 👍
You got that right!
Your fish looked great. Mr Tug I think you could ask Gabe about his Contender. Sounded like he has enough boats. He recently had some work done to it, would take some sting off of brand new. That Dusky is a great all around boat. I hope the best for you and your girls. Love the dogs but they need to mind Papa! Thanks
Love the dogs!! 🐶 ❤️
Is too!
Great job on this project!😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you!
Stripers have that same bloodline....get the red out is my philosophy too. Great video!!
It’s a great philosophy
That's where I'm from. Moved too Iowa 10 years ago. Still go back every so many years
Cool!
Bluefish is great pickled . Save the juice from good dill pickles like Clausen and fill the jar with chunks of fish . Let it sit in the fidge 3-5 days and you'll have some real good eating .
Interesting
Crystal that’s funny as can be. I saw a bumper sticker on a car today that had that on there coming home from work tonight. Awesome video.👍👍👍
Love it
I love the dogs. I'm glad you include them in your trips.
Blues are popular in New York and New Jersey region.
Thanks!
I like how you argue while filming 😅
"Hey notice..." lol 🤣
Hahahahahaha
You guys are awesome!! Thanks for the content!
Thanks
Ian had that look in his eye when he was looking at that boat.. 🤣
Always enjoy the videos with the bride, shouting out a big hello from Pennsylvania

YASSS! Tug Wednesday's
🙌🏽
We love y'all! You're real and make us at home with you all the time. Keep up the great vids! 😊
Thank you! Will do!
I grew up on bluefish on the outer banks. I love them
Nice!
You guys are great. Recently moved to SwFL & love watching your videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Another great one bud!
Only a few days now!
@@TugTrashOutdoors yessir!!! Fired up
Enjoyed your little trip! I'm digging the variety of dips you're making with the fried fish. It's got me wanting to experiment instead of the usual tarter sauce.
Please do!
Mullet: Business up front, party in the back.
You can see the want to in his eyes, looking at the Dusky!
I finally got to be number one on your like list. I would love to meet you and go fishing.
Maybe some day
@@TugTrashOutdoors Well, I turn 69 years old April 15th. You better hurry up LO. L.
Make a long story short, Bluefish is delicious if you marinade in buttermilk or regular milk and add lemon juice. At least 22 hour marinade
Always fun. You guys deserve that new boat. Again I invite you to Palm Coast for gigging or fishing.
🙌🏽
Great Video as always.. I live on coast of Delaware and I fish the Atlantic ocean off of Ocean City and Assateague, Virginia and I fish to Delaware bay and we do catch bluefish up here certain times of the year, but I don’t keep them to eat Let me say I use them for catfish bait when I fish the Nanticoke river their a good bait for catfish. I eat the catfish.. Keep Posting and Don’t Worry About the Haters… their jealous. smooth sailing my friend.
Very cool!
Fun trip even though weather spotty. Living in Miami for many years the boat show was an annual ritual. Caught some bluefish in Key Largo that were long and skinny. Tried to fry them buy meat was real mushy. The boat you looked at was a pretty good price. Every thing marine has gotten so expensive. Love your dogs.
Very cool!
Bro you could b my brother..spitting image
Good stuff as usual, always keeping it real that's what I like about you!
I appreciate that
Used to catch big gator blues back mid 90's we wouod bleed them, put them in a salt ice brine then fillet them out and the fillets would go in a bowl of milk for a few hours and then fry them up and absolutely loved em
Viddles with blue Gabe is always a good thing
If you let the fish rest about 10-15 minutes after coating the coating will adhere better and less loss in the frying pan. Good video keep it up. love watching.
Thanks for the tip!
I like the dogs!!! so cute.
us too
Great video. Dogs are better than most people. Looks like you guys had a good time. Fish looked good
You got that right!
I have a Boston that is very special. Just like yours! Great content your channel is one i watch regularly
Thanks for watching!
Ain't a thing wrong with fresh blues!!! Glad you guys got to get away and chill. Stay away from them boat shows!!! $$$$$ 😂
🤣
Good video I've had small blues they were ok just a little fishey but I didn't know about that extra trimming on the red meat good info
Great video brother. Y'all always make the best outta any situation. I'd love to eat some of that fish.
Thanks 👍
2 outboards @!😮
I love the dogs
I love the dogs name Mullet lol, that is also another good fish to eat, they just make better bait for us XD.
I have a couple Mullet videos!
Fresh bluefish is great. I've never tried to freeze it, but I love it fresh.
Same here!
I have fried up bluefish before and thought it was very good. Thanks for another fun video.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching
I’ve heard people talk smack on blues but every time I’m in the Caribbean, they rave about em. I’ve never caught one but I learned real fast, if someone native to the Caribbean says it’s good, try it! Another solid video my duder.
Very true
Heiko from South Florida Fishing Channel and Rob from Deer Meat For Dinner are both selling offshore boats.
Love the dogs!! Had a Boston when was younger but passed away from getting hit by a car... Named Buzz from toy story
RIP Buzz
Hey Tug, commenting from Maine. The blues up here do get pretty big, 15 to 18 lbs. but no matter where you catch em, you got to prep em right, and you did!! Bleed em cut that nasty red meat out, and get em super cold. Then as far as Im concerned they are not bad eating. Absolutely not wahoo or maih maih or tuna but not bad. Keep the great videos coming, Love watching !!!!
You got that right!
Ian/Krystal, I just love watching you two interact together. Y'all keep that fire burning, never let it go out. This video was one of the best. My wife Carol and I are going on a Disney Cruise this weekend for our 46th wedding anniversary. We get back Monday the 4th and I plan on going after the Specks again next week. I will keep you posted. May God continue to bless your channel as you work so hard to give us the best. (I may try Georgia Boys) Love you two
good Luck!
Tug you always have great videos. I grew up in Connecticut, where we fish for small blues in spring, fry them, and big blues in fall love eating them. Your dogs are a great addition to video. At 66, I consider you my best you tuber.
Thank you so much
Another great video Tug, never tried bluefish but that looked pretty good. Im hoping the stores in my area start selling Kfred fish fry breading. Thats something I'd like to try. Thanks for sharing.
He has a website and is on Amazon.
While I do love the dogs, Every video is a learning experience for me so of the two......lol I have tried your recipes and I love learning how you cook your dishes.
Wonderful!
love the dogs!!
Thanks
Sooooo, did the "Dusk" make it back to St Augustine? New boat, new tires! Lol
Another great video.
Not yet!
Try smashing Chiken in a Biskit and use it for a breading for fish. In Canada I forgot the breading in MN on my day for shore lunch. Had to improvise and it turned out great for pan frying Walleye.
That sounds amazing and innovative
It doesn't mater how big or how new your boat is its the people you enjoy it with you guys are great people love to fish with you
Love the content, many thanks 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
We love blue fish up here. We catch huge ones and smaller ones we call snapper blues. Thier awesome cooked that way. We've never done them any other way lol
Very cool
I grew up in the Chesapeake Bay, catching spot around the pilings and casting them out for Blue fish, we ate them all the time! its also a fun catch fish, fight fight fight!

Great video man on your South florida trip man. It suck that the weather was not good but you made the best out of it. Sorry to hear about the Flat tire on the boat trailer man. The boat show was nice man. It's been a long time since I have been to one. Man I just love watching you cook man. Your food looks so good man. Awesome how you give the dog some fish man. Got to give them a lil bit of a Treat. I am so glad that I found your channel man & I love watching it. It's just so cool to see what you do at work or at home. I stopped a lot at the Flying J truck stop at exit 305 206 st in saint augustine when I am in Florida. I hope I run in to you one day cuz I would like to Shake your hand and say hello to you. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing this.
With the Denny’s!
That looks amazing, I think mullet is wanting you to drop some.
I think so too!
Blues aren’t half bad if you bleed them and eat them that day! Up here in N Florida they don’t get that big, and they are great smoked!
Yeah Bro we eat the crap outta them up here in NY!!!!! We go out to catch them on purpose 😊 Cool Video Crystal and Ian #TugTrashOutdoors
