I am an Iphone Guy, but let me tell you one thing- out of three S20 performed well, P P40 did give good result in night video.
    Sharpness winner is S20.

    • @lvccxs
      @lvccxs Před 4 lety

Not only sharpness, but I've seen a lot of Nightime pictures taken by S20 devices wich received a bad review, because it apparently "doesn't have enough sharpness and did not have colors faithful to the real scene."
Little they know you can adjust ISO scale and take pictures however you want. I mean, a guy just photographed the Milky Way using a S20 ultra because he actually used the correct options.

I disagree over the zoom sharpness. While it's impressive considering it's sensor crop zoom, the Huawei seems more naturally sharp while the s20 looks processed, with more noise and artifacting. I'd prefer the more natural look. We seldom notice this until you see photos from a bigger sensor
Also re night mode, for whatever reason, auto mode on the p40 pro looks better than night mode in other test I've watched. You should try it out, could be an auto night mode perhaps?
p40 pro 3x zoom is still using the main sensor that's cropped in, so it is the same detail as the iPhone 11. I think it only gets the better sharpness in video once you reach the 4-5x zoom range. In this regard the s20's method works well

They always say "great pic". Yes, becose is not with the colours that we see in nature. This is where samsung nailed it. Humans like dream colours. People don't like a whitish blue as the sky, people like a nice blue sky, as we see in holidays adverts. I think mkbhd has done a pictures contest and samsung had 2 phones in the final. Is just how we are. We like to have our fantasy world. I will always like the sky colour in Tenerife....is what it is. Cheers Alex.

Doesn't really impact the fairness of the video...
S20 and Plus have the same set of cameras... Only the ultra have different camera
Iphone 11 have the same camera as its pro, just minus the telephoto...
The only unfair part is the zoom .. Ofc iphone 11 will lose.. But even with the 11 pro, it will still lose in zoom... So, well

Thank you for giving us this fair comparison.
In my opinion, the colours rendered by the P40 pro camera should be much better, when you look at its predecessor. The skies have a huge violet/purple tint. The saturation needs to be improved. The pictures are pale and definitely not appealing to me. Also night shooting leaves some disappointment - just look at the sky. There's no proper contrast in these pictures. The sky should be darker, just like in S20 or iphone. Meanwhile it is too bright and too purple as well. I expected better white balance and saturation overall. I hardly see any improvememt over P30 pro, the pictures from which were really eyecatching. That's why I wait for direct comparison P40 vs P30

what I see is Samsung and iPhone daytime pictures more or less similar to each other than the colour of the sky and detail level. what s surprise telephoto is better on Samsung. It looks like using a 64mp high res sensor with their algorithm seems pretty good. This also has enabled high res and low res photoshoots. for nighttime videos p40 pro is definitely better wherein ultra-wide, it overexposes light sources to achieve the more brighten video. It looks like Samsung kind of referred for the iPhone for the s20 series with subtle differences.

All high-end processors run games to the max, Kirin, snapdragon, exynos and Apple processor, instead of putting 12 and 16go of RAM which is useless, Huawei this concentrates on important advances in photo , in video and in eco system with EMUI, and they chose the 90Hz on the screen so as not to consume too much battery in order to create a perfect balance. Finally the Huaweis are the best smartphones on Android, the greatest versatility in photos, video quality at the height of the competition, great battery life, fast enough charge in 40Wat and wireless 27W. And in France Huawei has the lowest after-sales service return rate.

In Daytime Photos : The P40 Pro wins in detail and colour acuracy with the main camera and with the ultrawide and zoom. I don't know how you are seeing more detail on the S20, you must be confusing digital oversharpening with detail.
In Portrait Photos in daytime : I prefer the P40 pro since colours seem more natural and has better edge detection. The iphone is great but too warm and the S20 overexposes the shots.
In Portrait Photos in Night Time: The S20 wins here, but also pretty clear that the P40 pro night mode is not working yet. Photos taken in very low light on the Mate 30 pro are much brighter than this.
In Daytime Videos: The Iphone wins on dinamic range but honestly with regards to colour acuracy and detail I can't see any noticeable diference between it and the P40 pro. The S20 looks great too but its too saturated.
In night Time Photos : The P 40 Pro has more detail but seems like night mode is not working properly yet, most liketly will be fixed soon since its still runing pre release software. This is evident acording with other youtube videos that show that not using night mode actually yelds better results. The Iphone is bright but very soft and the S20 is somewhere in the midle.
In night time videos: The P 40 pro has way more light but not great dinamic range, with lots of cliping on the highlights. The Iphone keep the bright areas properly exposed but everything else is too dark. Same for the S20 but its brightler than the iphone.
