Instead of doing a separate Huawei P40 Pro vs iPhone 11 Pro camera test and a Huawei P40 Pro vs Galaxy S20 Ultra Camera Test I just ended up doing one big one to make things easier if you are looking to buy one of these phones or if you just wanted to see how the Huawei P40 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max and Galaxy S20 Ultra all stack up on camera quality. True. But its daytime video colors were still way off
Maybe in stills but in Videos..it looks way off. and that's the problem with most Chinese phones...I have seen that color reproduction is not uniform across lenses, still fotos, videos.... be it Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi...et el.

The Ultra did well in most shots. Samsung's software dept still has a lot of work to do, but I'm really impressed with the p40 pro.
I think it's a hardware issue, Samsung manufactured parts (apart from their screens) aren't that great. I think Samsung should use Sony sensors instead. I think the p40 uses an IMX 700
@@braulioribeiro5798 But Samsung manufactured parts are in nearly every flagship lol only big difference is the sensors, so a lot of it actually comes down to the software side which both Samsung and Huawei gonna improve a lot with software optimizations.
@@braulioribeiro5798 there are limitations in general with a bigger sensor and wider aperture. They aren't meant to take super close up shots. Kinda similar to when you have your eyes wide open and try putting something close to them. The image will blur. The auto focus is the only real issue from what I've seen using it.

No phone named Ultra should do "pretty well" . The s20 shots are just way too inconsistent. I'd say the Pizza 40 pro was the best overall and the most consistent in all conditions.

I found over the weekend the Exynos version of the Ultra had a hard time with reds and light blues
Sadly the Exynos vresion is worse in just about every aspect.

The P40 PRO is currently running on a pre released software and i hope it's performance will definitely improve with the upcoming software update.

The details are consistently amazing on the P40 pro. Having a P30 pro, I can surely tell the Huawei has the best noise reduction on a smartphone. There is so much detail on every damn photo and only the iPhone comes close to it in a few scenarios. It is a shame that the new Huaweis will not have google apps! Now the customers can all enjoy an amazing, noisy space zoom 😂
You can still access Google, and search for things it mainly is just no Google company in the phone not the wen page, China have a substitute for each Google ran program anyway

The Huawei camera engineer said on Weibo they will roll out a super clarity mode that fully uses the 50 million pixels (100 million if you count dual PD) through the XD Fusion system. They are aiming for May 1st release of that feature. Super excited!

Jesus, that P40 pro...I wasn't expecting that much honestly, I'm using a Huawei phone but a mid range one and my camera quality is awful while it's Samsung rivals with the same price range have much better cameras but for this P40 pro, I have nothing to say, perfect!

I have 11 Pro Max but dam P40 Pro and S20 Ultra are better both really doing great job , im waiting to see Iphone 12 to see a real comparison camera.

by uplifting the ban only would make Google work harder to try and keep gain of what it knows about people already... P40 pro doesn't do such a thing, you are as free a bird... Google is just scared of losing what they have.

The P40 Pro looks amazing. I just can't stand artificially saturated colors and for that reason alone the P40 Pro wins by a landslide.
I wish we could also see 100% crop for each shot especially in low light, so we can see who got the better detail retention.

Great comparison Danny. Overall it has to be the Huawei. iPhone was steady away and for me the Samsung needs work especially on the auto focus. How about a test between the Huawei and the oppo find X2 Pro. Now that could be interesting. 👍

s20 ultra has a camera software bug. To fix: lock & unlock it one time while recording, then its gonna be fixed.

I had the same issue after the ATCH update. Then I seen this discussion on multiple reddit forums. Guess a bunch of people had this same issue but after doing this it seems to help a lot.
1 - Open the camera, go to settings and go to the bottom and select "reset settings"
2 - Go to the phone settings, go to "Apps", find "camera" and goto "storage". Then hit "clear cache" at the bottom
3 - Power off the phone, wait a few seconds and power it back on holding the power and volume up keys. If you continue to hold them, it will bring it up in recovery mode. Use the volume keys to go to "wipe cache partition". Use the power key as enter.
Then reboot phone

You know that pinch-to-maximize gesture you have to do on 19:9 phones with CZcams videos, so they fill out the whole screen without black borders on the sides? Yeah, Danny is the only guy where you can do that and still perfectly read the caption on the bottom that says which photo is from which phone without the text being cut off. Thanks!

I so waited for great camera.... But Samsung HDR is too struggle comprair to Apple... Also video of Apple is best again. I am very disappointed. This is not Samsung best camera that I waited for since September with every news about new galaxy...

Your delivery is so pleasant to watch, you demonstrated all the right examples. If possible are you able to get a hands on Xperia 1 mark 2 and to do in depth video comparisons to the P40 pro.... there are no good cinematic quality comparisons reviews out there. It's the most anticipated phone of 2020 and almost no videos...

I got information that S20 Ultra sometimes still has the autofocusing issue, the way to handle this is tap the screen once while recording and then leave it, the autofocus should work now

Yes, the P40 Pro has the largest sensor (75mm²), but in its default mode it doesn't use the entire area as gsmarena has shown, it only uses approximately 54mm²(so it's actually 9.1 megapixels instead of 12.6), so the effective area is smaller than Samsung's 69mm² sensor. If we ignore the RYB color filter, then the S20 Ultra captures approximately 42% more light per exposure time (regarding the total field of view at 1.0x). So even if the RYB filter had a 40% light advantage, the P40 Pro still wouldn't capture more light per time.

@@rinkashime3458 I have one and I'm selling the ultra. Got it early here in Australia . The ultra is honestly a mess. My note 10 shot better photos than it. The p40 pro wins nearly everywhere. Especially low light there's not even a comparison. The photos during lowlight on the s20 are a joke, the shutter is open too long and they come out blurry and too warm , lacking details.

On the ultra's video, sakitech showed that all you have to do is tap the screen once as you enter video mode and the autofocus will be great throughout

Hey Danny. I think you could try to clean the cache of the camera app, reset its settings and wipe cache through recovery as these steps could fix the auto focus hunting issues on the S20U after the last update. It is understandable because sometimes I have to do this after some apps get updated. Please tell us if these steps fixed autofocus hunting.

iPhone 11 Pro FTW. The most reliable camera in this comparision. Every single shot of iPhone is just good. iPhone 11 Pro camera does not have any weaknsess.

Singh King You’re wrong. iPhone is still a beast considering it’s tiny sensor (4 times smaller than that on P40 Pro) on steroids. iPhone image processing is the fastest too. You can actually take 2 night photos when S20 Ultra is still processing the first one. No one mentions that in reviews. And I don’t know why. I returned my S20+ 5G and got iPhone 11 Pro. And I see huge quality difference on how fast and reliable iPhone is. You cant see this on speed tests etc.
For me the s20 ultra was best...I loved the bluey sky..and the greens...the pics are sharp...the self camera is excellent...
