Thank you for taking the time to do this challenge. It is stuff like this which helps other users to actually consider whether to buy the avata 2 or not. I have no experience in drones and have just started my research to buy one in a few months. It is extremely confusing whether I want the Avata 2 or the Mini 4 Pro and have been jumping between the two for 2 days now.

@JustinBainbridgeYT I went with the mini 4 pro as I knew I'd love it and I was a little worried the Avata 2 would cause my motion sickness to go haywire and would hate my first big boy drone to not be a raging success but now I know the Avata 2 is next in the must have list. Love the video's thanks so much

Question man, your drone shots that are horizon locked and everything are those on a different DJI or do you just use the Avata 2 and throw some Horizon lock on it?

Stunning views, Justin. Thank you for this excellent footage. Can you set the Avata 2 to record H.265, when @ 4K/60, 16:9, UW, Rocksteady?? Because there seems to be only an H.264 recording, which is very slow to render. If you can set it at H.265, how do you do it?
There isn't a way to manually select the file format It chooses a codec depending on the settings you are using. from my knowledge H.265 works if you are using Dlog M or shooting in 4k 4:3 (any frame rate or colour profile). Otherwise, if you're using the normal colour profile you need to be shooting in 1080p for H.265 All other formats will use H.264.
@@JustinBainbridgeYT Thank you very much Justin. It's unfortunate there is no choise, despite what the DJI Specs say. I have a Mac Studio M1, and find rendering at H.264 is a lot slower than with H.265 (I'm using on Mavic 3). I'm using D-Log M, UW, RS and 16:9 at 4K/60 and it still does H.264. I prefer using 16:9, than 4:3 ....
@Messi10billy I don't have a video on editing yet, but it will be coming in the future. I mainly use rocksteady for stabilisation but if you're using gyroflow on the wide FOV I recommend a smoothness speed between 0.1-0.3 and also change the zooming speed to 8 seconds, this should give good results 😃
now multiply it by 3 and you have more than plenty to capture anything. plus you can always take slim power bank and then it's 6 batteries which you can even "collect" to one at the end ;)
Yep, 3 batteries are plenty for the Avata 2. I also love the accumulation feature. Just press the button, and by the time you've got to your next spot, you can have another flight 👌 available!
Thank you, nope. Haha, I got 15 and a half on this battery, but I did do a lot of flying back and forth to land between locations. In previous flights, I've managed just over 18 mins. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yeah, that's a farmer haha, he came from the field to the left. It's just the way the footage is cut because there's lots of empty space between me flying back, landing etc
Yep, the flight time is crazy, I got a total flight time of just under 16 mins over the course of the day. Which is equivalent to 4 lipos on my 5 inch realistically, one for each spot. It's nice to be able to put the Mini 4 Pro and the Avata 2 in my small backpack and head out and enjoy. It is so efficient, but flying the 5 inch is still so good fun 😅
