    13:07 Closing Remarks: You Have To Apply Yourself.
    As he puts it: "You should be losing 15lb in a month, or you're not doing this properly."
    There are plenty of fad diets that can help you lose (water!) weight rather quickly. But, what’s the use of dieting if it amplifies your risk of disease!?
    The dietary plan outlined in his book Eat To Live is focused on helping us lose all that unhealthy body fat, by flushing our body with wonderful micronutrients that giving our body all the nutrition it needs, so that we also prevent disease.
    Personally, reading Eat To Live had a significant impact on my own health journey. It opened up my eyes to the fallacies in modern nutrition and diets.
    Eat To Live not only WORKS, but enhances mental clarity, energy and dampens toxic hunger.
    All my friends and family who have tried the 6 week program have lost pounds and pounds! Go all in and you will see the weight drop effortlessly. Without feeling hungry and deprived. I recently returned to following it strictly, and lost 3kg in only 2 weeks!

    This really works. I started this on August 4, 2020 and I’m down 40 pounds in a little over 3 months. The first 30 pound me came off in two months. I’ve been shocked at how fast I lost weight but I also feel so much better.. He’s right about not being hungry when you eat this way.

      @@iamme6581 - It does, if you lack context. Let's translate: Feeling high off of addictive foods might seem like you're feeling better, but obviously that temporary satisfaction has long-term negative effects. When you cut these addictions off, you'll start to feel worse bc the withdrawal symptoms are your body's immune response in action. Just like fevers, coughs, sneezes, and headaches feel terrible on the surface, they're actually signals from your body to allow rest & repair. So the reality of feeling "worse" is that you're feeling better, bc you're actually healing all the cellular damage you've caused from eating so poorly. Make sense now?

      Of course! Nuts and seeds are included in limited amounts, but are not mandatory. If you can have a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds, that would be amazing for Omega-3s. Otherwise find another good source of Omega 3s.

    Interesting message -- but my problem is with self control. A lot of people who've fallen off dieting complain about having to eat "rabbit food". What's the solution to that?

    • @sofiasurreal.
      @sofiasurreal.  Před 3 lety +9

      As Dr Fuhrman says, it's about making sure you're not hungry - eating an abundance of healthy foods, so filling up on beans, greens etc. Often people under-eat vegetables. So first step, is making sure you don't do that. Next, make sure to prepare the food in a delicious, healthy way e.g. roasting red peppers and adding, making sauces/dressings with a little nuts. And then, finally, you must practice patience, and realise that it takes time for your tastebuds to adjust. It's important therefore to completely take out processed foods to give yourself the space to really appreciate the nuance and natural sweetness and taste of whole foods.

      I think to start cut out one problem food for yourself every 2 weeks or a month. Sometimes people need to start slow, because they are heavily addicted to sugar and other food chemicals. I have a heavy sugar addiction, but I make sure I eat tons of veggies. I cut out dairy months ago by replacing my creamer with a combo of 1 can of coconutmilk and 1 container almond milk. Sometimes I water that down to cut down on fat intake. My next target is meat because I have less meat cravings. Another way is to figure why you are craving,what you are craving, and replace it with the healthier food. Slowly practicing self control. I'm keeping unsweetened tea in my fridge now, instead going to the store for sweet tea. (Multiple self control issues for myself there.)

    • @manofsan
      @manofsan Před 3 lety

       @J K - I can easily stay off dairy - I have no craving for that. I do like sweet stuff, but in the past I've been able to use non-sugar substitutess. I do get strong cravings for potato chips - specifically the Salt & Vinegar potato chips. I've been trying to substitute peanuts & salsa for that.

      @@manofsan Maybe pumpkin seeds, then you can add vinegar and garlic powder then toast them. Garlic powder is my salt substitute for most things because its naturally salty. Most of the Ms. dash no salt seasonings replace salt with garlic powder.

      Steve, I get major sugar and caffeine withdrawal headaches the first few days and feel weak on and off for the first few weeks, but once I get past those I feel AMAZING. I have more energy than ever before in my life and have so much focus at work and on household projects. I also lose weight without even trying or being hungry. 👏🏼
      To get through the challenging withdrawal headache days I take one caffeine pill in the morning and that gets me through the day. After the headaches are gone I no longer use caffeine and get on with this lifestyle beautifully. It’s so worth it. You will love the way you look and feel. 💯

    Not a word on insulin? Or that it's mostly sugar, an addictive substance? Or that it's the body's hormones which control and drive hunger? Or about protecting your liver by not eating foods which cause spikes in insulin production and that protein-rich diets also cause insulin production? Beans are too rich in protein that they should be consumed in any large quantity. No mention of occasional fasting?
    Too much missing info here. Watch a video from Dr. Fung or Dr. Jamnadas and get a better background in the biology and physiology of how and why the body produces fat, how and why the body reacts to this food and that food. Low carb saves lives. Dr Umwin's case studies prove it.

    Can’t eat beans. I can eat one tablespoon of hummus or lentils. Food sensitivity. My DNA says I need more protein than the average person. 120grs. I use olive oil exclusively. And a tablespoon of walnuts, almonds, pistachios, or flax seeds in my yogurt.
    Gluten intolerant, lactose intolerant and a slow carb metabolized. I have a mutation in my genes that makes me not metabolize all the vitamins- B especially.
    I can eat fish and lean turkey or chicken. If I can’t eat fish, or poultry where can I get my B vitamins since I can’t stomach beans.
