"80, 82... should give me at least 90 mph" Dude, you bought a 250cc motorcycle...why are you so fixated on going fast? This is a nice little "around town" bike for commuting to work...enjoy it as is.
@@TheMightySar 85mph even with the taller sprocket is a tall order. 75mph is about as comfortable as it gets. Plus... You'll never get 90mph because it simply doesn't have the power.
I luv that blue color! I put a Corbin leather seat on my 2015' Honda Rebel. It's the Rubidium Red model. I think they will be collectable as the 250cc models were discontinued in 2016. 👀
I've had an 09 for about a year.. great little bike. I've done an indicated 85 on it once but really don't like taking it much past 65 or 70. It's pretty easy to largely avoid highways in my area tho. I can also always find neutral.. hot or not on mine.
My blue 2005 looks a lot rougher than yours but it’s still fun to ride. I went with a 30 tooth rear sprocket and dropped the rpm just a little. Small light Hondas are a blast to ride.
I can peg the speedometer on my 2016 with stock gearing. I tried upgearing the 2004 I had a few years ago by adding one tooth on the front sprocket, and it actually slowed the bike down. Plus you had to slip the clutch to take off in first. Honda geared the Rebel 250 perfectly. This little old tech bike is seriously overbuilt. The engine dates back to the late 60s. It is nearly bulletproof. It can cruise at full throttle for 80,000+ miles before the engine starts to show signs of wear. Just try that on a modern 250. They are so cheaply built they probably wouldn't go 20,000 miles at full throttle before blowing up.
No matter what you do your not Going faster than 80 homie sorry to kill your dream but I have same bike and the same year and made mine a pretty cool Bobber you got a good looking bike to start one also and cruise around like it’s meant for cuz itll never go faster than 80mph Evan down hill 🤣
It is a country road bike. Not for speed highway long trips. You have to be intelligent and use the machine as best for it, not for you. No good for hot city driving too. Not liquid cooled kind. I have a 1987 w 23k miles still going strong. For the hot city, i use my Honda Shadow 600 liquid cooled. Will you go to a hot city in the car without air conditioning or the other w AC? Gee..
@luckyou20. I have a 1996 250 Virago. The Honda looks somewhat better but doesn't sound very good. I hear the Honda gets similar gas mileage. My Virago has gotten 92 m.p.g. at 55 m.p.h. with the worst being 67 m.p.g. Remarkable to get almost mo-ped gas mileage.😋
I agree,, BuT costs effectiveness would also slow down sales of bike, that's why they have the title of the world's most mass production bike since 1985 over 1Million sold.. and still in production. ENJOY °H°A°R°D° n FLaTLanDs
They say the V Star 250 I bought has more torque? Feels like it? It's a 2018 with 17/45 sprockets. Nice quad-valve SOHC V-Twin with 26mm Mikuni carb. Just got back into riding after a 50-year absence. I think it sounds nice, but I don't get why the back cylinder runs into the bottom (front) pipe? Gonna change that by cutting and rewelding the back cylinder pipe into the top pipe where it belongs. Nice color. The closest blue one I could find was 5 states away with a red one. Both metallic.
I had the same bike. Bought it brand new. Worst mistake of my life. Looks great. Rides horrible. What a terrible bike. Only thing it’s good for is learning how to ride That’s it. Way to light, no power at all, there are many bikes to look for at the price range this bike is in. Just saying
I love the color. I have a red 2013. I like the red, but the blue was my first choice!

I just got the exactly same bike. Today (Color and year) I am beginner bike rider. I hope I can learn soon
I bought my Honda rebel in pieces so I used this video as reference for what it should look like 😅

1 tooth on the front will give you more top speed without vibration and high rpm's.. a lot smoother ride on the highway
Me gusta mucho esa moto... Esta super hermosa.
Nice bike , great stuff 👍😊
I have a 2000 honda rebel 250. Top speed i can do is only 65 lol so your doing better than me
Cool!! When I got my first bike it was between this one, the S40, and Yamaha VStar. How do you think this one and the S40 compare?
s4o go 95 but rebel go 75 s40 is more powerful
more power and 20mph faster
S40 has more torque n power top speed of 98mph
I have the same bike and color
sorry didn't make video of sprocket change i sold the bike before i could do it

s40 has lot more power and 20 mph faster more torque than honda rebel. honda go 75 and s40 go 95
The S40 is the bike that will do what you want. 90mph. Should be attainable.
Beautiful scooter but parallel twin engines are boring to listen to. Honda should have designed a v-twin engine for it.
Then get a shadow 🤣🤣🤣

@@bottmar1 I'm currently getting 54 mpg on my 84 vt700
