I love how he keeps taking the hex of destruction and then complains when it destroys his synergies.
I've seen a few people play this game and they ALL do this lol. They get the black pepper or whatever it is that gives you one coin everytime something is destroyed. Then they think that the hex of de3is God tier now because they will always get that one coin payout lol

@@disinterBaz the two that I've watched a few times now are Dan Gheesling a d Olexa. Olexa specifically seems to take hexes quite often and they always ruin his run. Dan has fallen for the same trap a couple of times as well.
I feel like this game could benefit from an end of run summary screen where you see how much gold each thing gave you. Then again, that'd make people realize piggy bank is just a downgraded pool ball

@@anonymousriver4568 if you're going endless you're going for a busted build that gives you near infinite money anyway. You'd also never take hex of destruction. Or go for strictly worse gems.
@@anonymousriver4568 True, but I had diamonds and other worse random items taking up some of my board in endless, and I got so far that the game could no longer handle the save. Just having enough suits, a couple card sharks/jokers, and the item that makes corner items act adjacent to all will get you to the game breaking point of endless if you get lucky.
Blaming coal for his loss when he had like 10 empty spaces on the board is just peak egg. This series seems to bring that out a lot :D
and then the next round he doesn't take coal, he just skips on spin 3 ... if you are adding nothing you might as well take coal if you have an empty board

@@originalkhawk i could understand because coal will be a dead space for 20 turns, so in that time it may bite you. but the early on you're definitely right that coal was worth
I feel like early game skipping has no purpose. All the symbols have synergy with something and all the symbols only give 1-2 gold. When he thinks, skips and says some bs about waiting for better stuff I want to yell at him lol
Edit: "You don't get to choose where the midas bomb goes" he says as he spins a full board full of nearly no synergy.

Coal is not a hindrance until it replaces things that would actually give coins. So until your board is full the coal is equal to a skip, so no coal is not bad, you just skip half the symbols and can't win

The way that this game is always pushed up against the margins of the video makes me instinctively try to scroll the video more onto my monitor, but it's already all the way visible.
Hey NL! While coal is a slow play that gives you 0 coins until it transforms, that's the same value as keeping an empty slot. This means, if your choice is coal or skip, and you have empty slots, always take coal. That way, you can look at future profit!
Not always though, because it does clog your inventory, which can ruin future synergies. Diamonds are goo when you can synergize them, but if you have say a flower build it reduces your potential payouts drastically.

Zarof is for endgame when you are trying to cut out the early junk characters like toddlers n dwarf. Kinda hoping the cats can eat the mouse tho coz i like going mouse strats early but later it'll clog the deck..
The problem is you always start with a cat. They should really just give 5 drafts to start the game so people can pick what they want.

@@Ghostneedle1 And pizza cat for +1, and black cat for a 3x boost, and copycat for a wildcard, makes cat a good symbol in any build.

I think you may have missed that things like chef synergize with themselves because if you have two of them next to food it doubles it twice.
How did NL not get any diamonds with X-Ray and the many ores he rolled?
I assume that with x-ray the chance for super rare is still around 1%

I think he did something like that pretty early on, but maybe there weren’t enough cultists to satisfy your thirst for cultists.
Imagine that Dame/Gems run with the item that makes the corners adjacent to everything. Just pop her into a corner every time and print money.

Looks like NL forgot he had the chef in the deck, all the times he could have made it hit golden egg but he just skipped.
Tbf, it doesnt really matter, it wouldnt have done anything for him. Chef + golden egg is the same (actually slightly worse) than dame + ruby/emerald.
Also, he didn't use the chef at all on the last 5 spins.

Because, in his mind, everytime he takes the coal he loses, so it must be the coals fault. When in reality it's just because he skips everything /gets a bit unlucky.

Lock pick is arguably the greatest item in this game. It’s the only truly GREAT item that requires little synergy. Take a chest, pop a chest open. That’s it

I think early oyster could be good. Because it spawns pearls, which buffs archaeologist or diver permanently as they consume those pearls.
NL! If you can swap characters, I think you should pick up general zaroff. If he lands next to the Dame, you just swap him away. You could have gotten rid of your miner and whatever other humans you didn't need which would clear your board!
And later on you can get another zaroff and put them next to eachother to get rid of him for good

One remark to the payout of 4x20: that is actually enough to pay 777. For 777 you need to make 3.89 per square (or 77.7 per full turn). You really don't need any insane combos for that, just a bunch of decent symbols and maybe a stray synergy here and there.
at 37:00 NL says dames pay a max of 64 coins since they can only touch 8 gems, but multiple dames touching the same gem double the double payout, so
1 dame touching 8 emeralds may only give 24 additional coins, but 8 dames touching 1 emerald give 768 coins. it scales by 2 two the power of the number of dames touching the same gem. ( and with protractor a gem in the corner will touch every dame on the board... up to 19 dames which would payout 2^19 times the base payout 3 ... 1.5 million coins. though takes a while to stack your inventory with enough dames.)
I think they could make the fishbowl/diver more viable by adding a symbol that has a chance to add fish, like a sea anenome.

I think you need same icon payout to make gems work long term, since that will be every turn and there are more ways to boost it. Like rusty gear, the peppers, etc. Also destruction if you can keep getting ore
Coal is always good if you can get a lot of it because diamonds increase in value the more you have

Suits is the way to go for endless, I had a run literally high rolling into the millions with good jesters and a card shark

@@Frank01985 flowers are good too, but I've never seen them perform as well, I thi k the big thing is that it lacks the universal wildcard to really amp up the earnings.
@@Zachpi My point was that it is easier to get going. You need flowers (common), lightbulbs (common), bees (uncommon), rain (uncommon, but can become common), suns (rare), and beehive (rare).
For your build there are less options, and they are more rare, and they scale less exponentially: suits (uncommon, but 4 options), joker (rare), and card shark (extra rare). Furthermore, joker and card shark get killed by Zaroff, so it's harder to get rid of useless symbols.
So imho that is not the "way to go", it's easier to make a couple million with flowers, midas bomb your entire board, and then start a suits build.

What the hell... I had almost EXACTLY this game yesterday xD (Watched it today the 28th)
The timing of the dame, the 2 pickaxes, the Bear item and even the absurd amount of Rubies and Emeralds.
Just now realized that with Swapper the General is safe to take as you can always save the important people in your set from him, while he can remove people you don't use anymore :)

"Whats going on?" Basically you just listen to the sounds, the higher the sound goes the more pog you write into chat ... that's pretty much what it comes down to ... if it plays the entirety of Lean on Me then you just, it starts a hype train
I had an endless mode build that was suits and jokers. I was learning 20K some turns and had a million dollars in the bank when rent was 9000 a turn. It was 0 amounts of fun
an early Rusty Gear would have been crazy
This was a well themed run if you are a fellow ape with DIAMONDHANDS perfectly timed with Gamestop and AMC starting the squeeze
I had a run last night where I played birds w/ birdhouse and got 2 beast masters and eventually a protractor... it was nuts. I think I got to 3000g rent before I lost.
I was working on doing the tallys for all of the symbols, but that third run was just impossible to do after the Mine hit. I was trying to have each symbol linked to the one it produced (for example: the first seed produced an Orange, the second one an Apple and the Third a Strawberry), but with all of the ores going into Rubys and Emeralds... it wasn't realistic anymore.
Some quick remarks:
Matryoshka was the third highest value symbol in run 2 (with Tomb being responsible for 16% of total earnings, Mouse 10% and Matryoshka 8.5%) The Dwarf was right behind with 8.3%.
Hustling Capsule gave a grand total of 6 gold in that run, but didn't cost a slot, so it's basically free money.
Arrows imo are op, it just gives. Imagine combining those 3 you skipped with the quiver.
Technically it doesn't 'just give' if it lands on a corner square and points away from the board. Then it's worth 0. With swapping device though they're easy to make worth it and even then it's hard to say no to your first arrow even if it's bronze.

Seems like endless is about finding scaling synergies.
The big breaking ones all require telescope. When he finally get that item he’s gumbo be over the moon. I hope he has a joker synergy when it happens

Seems like toddler is only good if you're eating every couple turns. Eating once in two turns gives: 1 + 7 = 8 (average of 4). One in three: 1 + 1 + 7 = 9 (average of 3). Anything more than that, and you're probably blocking off too many other synergies.

Flower build gets out of control, that would be the best with the right buffs for endless.
