It’s kinda crazy, I found Isaac when I was in like 6th grade and now I’m graduating high school. It feels surreal in a way.
I just hope we still get consistent youtube exclusive content once isaac is gone, because on the streams you rarely go on long lasting banters like it happens in isaac.
Kinda the problem that I feel alot of streamers/youtubers don't notice, the banter isn't the same at all. It's just very different vibe, I feel pretty disconnected watching the streams updated cause the banter is towards chat, not us CZcams viewer
Yeah, his youtube videos always felt like he was talking to me. In streams however, since you can't even see chat, it always feels like he is talking to someone else.
I agree, I love all the content but Isaac/CZcams exclusive stuff just hits different with banter. Twitch is more mindless dialogue for me a lot of times while CZcams is like a dialogue with someone else, less hectic. They both have pros and cons.

I seriously feel like we need to hook NL up to a lie detector and ask him if he killed this run on purpose. He skipped the guaranteed rare, took 3 Tediums only to transfer towards an Uncommon-focused build, took a Goldfish on the turn that his Lucky Capsule popped, thus negating the two guaranteed Rare slots where he desperately needed a Zaroff to build back up a Joker empire... It's concerning.

It's so sad that the diver destroys it though. I've got a run with like 5 oysters and two archeologists. Together with the conveyer belt I was freaking rolling in money. The oysters produced like three pearls each spin and the archeologists would double up on them.

To comment on the isaac ending it really brought me through alot, the series itself was amazing in my opinion and ive been a long time subscriber honestly it hurts to see it go but ill always appreciate the many episodes and the conversational energy u put into the series!!!

I made a cat build that took me to basically infinite gold, I got bored after getting around 20 million gold in endless. Basically had a bunch of cats and got the Cats Are Wildcards, along with Suits are Wildcards, then Telescope so everything was adjacent, and a bunch of gold/silver arrows....My biggest spin was ~2M gold lol
I had a similar thing with wildcard-cats, the cat-rarity item and the money makers where telescoped suns, flowers, and rain/bees, along with 2 gold and silver arrows each, position swapping (for the arrows) and arrows spin twice. Largest roll was ~ 3Million.
Even before I had telescope, it was insane with swapping, the clear sky item (suns/moons adjacent to all) and the corner-adjacency item.
I'd say that's the second most OP build in this game, with flowers+rain+sun being absolutely broken (got a run going right now at 500m, I legit got like 100m from a god tier spin)

@@a.r.1611 A pure sun build with one flower would overflow a 32 bit integer with 14 suns from a single flower. Let's hope they used a 64 bit integer.

man, i've been watching nl since i was in middle school, and i'm gonna graduate college in a year. i think i've honestly just come to expect over the last ten years that there would be an isaac episode waiting for me in my sub inbox each morning. i don't want to take ryan's hard work for granted, even if change is scary. here's to his next era being a guldan one.
I started watching the Isaac series when I was in middle school looking for something morbid, now I'm almost finished with my Bachelor's. It'll truly be the end of an era.
I never understood people who listened to Howard Stern or Joe Rogan every day, but I gotta say Isaac's been the content that got me through this year. I watched the series for a year or two back when it started but haven't had the time for the past 6-7 years. Then the pandemic started, I lost my job, with the quarantine and all I was stuck inside all day, so I tuned in for an episode and got sucked in. It's hard to describe but the content is just comfy. ~30 minutes of unscripted talk every day, about random stuff (the quarantine, pregnancy and the baby, that one crazy Eden streak, grocery store anecdotes). Now I do agree when you said the banter is not from Isaac, it's from your head, most of the time I minimize the video and just listen, but the reason Isaac is unique is because you can play the game on autopilot mode and just talk about anything and everything the whole time. Once Isaac is gone there needs to be another autopilot game that allows you to do the same.
I'm gonna miss isaac.. Nl's energy is just different in videos that aren't streamed first

Ryan, it looks like you don't have any downsampling filter on your face-cam. Assuming you're using OBS or something similar, right-click on your face-cam source and turn something on for "Scale Filtering". Bicubic is probably what you want.

I know NL probably won't see this, but your Isaac videos legitimately helped me when I was going through the worst mental health scare I ever had. That I am still alive to see it possibly end is an incredible thing to say.
While I will be sad to see it end, this last year of NL content has been incredible. It's a more confident NL, and I can't wait to see what he replaces Isaac with.
Not taking lucky capsules during endless to get rerollable rares was a huge missed opportunity to absolutely break the game could have probably pulled his second zaroff no problem then gotten a couple jokers

The freaking reroll button is 11 feet wide and he keeps going to the far right straight on the icon, which triggers the tooltip and blocking the third item and I'm just freaking tilted

So many items do stuff when destroyed. More rares show up later in the game. So if all items are temporary, income always increases
Destruction is hard to remove and it nukes stuff needed for synergies so it's not brilliant

Even though I dont always watch isaac, I still love it, and not just because its a symbol. The banter in that series is second to none, and while I like all the other videos you put out (a lot actually), none have ever had the banter that Isaac has ever had. That's why I'd hate to see it go.
I had a good run and I was so far ahead that I just waited for midas bombs to reset the deck to zero and I could hand pick every turn so I built the perfect joker run. My good rolls got me a couple TRILLION gold. So yeah jokers can be op.

Each of them is 7 + 1/3rd of 77, so why would you skip them when you do regularly take wealthy capsules, spirits or other similar self-destroying things?

The suits aren't worse if you get jokers, especially with the corners are adjacent item. The real Pot Play was skipping the rares and not fishing for zaroff/joker
????????????? Suits are objectively actually 800 times better, you can slowly die with low ceiling cultists, or take advantage of the boost they gave him and go for the moon with suits, which he did, nad nearly didnt succeed

So many hustling capsules skipped! Those scale great when you have the item that doubles the capsule output and reduces the amount of coin hustling capsule takes.
Don't feel forced to do isaac, you've been doing it for such a long time. You've got so much great content other than isaac. I've been watching you for years, and I can't imagine how much that takes a toll on you for you to play isaac everyday. Kudos to you.

The second you get a recycler + telescope/protractor you sort of have to go for midas bomb into flower + 24 suns. Lucky capsule gets you cheap suns every 2 turns basically. You get 2e13 per turn 80% of the time. Oil can slightly improves your odds, swap+protractor or telescope is not a must but a protractor gets you the full score 4/25 times. A flower in the centre still nets you 390k, so that's good enough for essentially an endless run anyways.

Here's a tip for cultist builds
Since cultists are common, and they rely on you having more and more cultists to make bank, avoid rarity increasing effects, as they make common symbols less likely to show up.
Similarly, hex of tedium is a great pickup as it increases odds of getting more common symbols, therefore increasing cultists.

Frankly, it's well and truly time to give Isaac it's fairwell. The banter is unequivocally the best part, and that's all you man.
Running the statistics is really interesting here.
That first run showed very clearly how destructive all of those 1 cost items were. NL started ahead and the suits even carried him for a bit, but after paying the 225 he was making 27 a turn on average where he needed to make 32 each spin on average. All of the 1s were really dragging him down.
I even thought the Lockbox was going to bail him out, but he was just too much short.
In general I like aggressively taking 2 value symbols while heading into the midgame and gearing up for 3 value symbols for a while and try to find something to turn them into even more into the later game. NL was basically already on step 4 when he was still supposed to be going for step 2.
In the second run, Coal overtook all of the starter symbols on spin 27 and the Bluebird and the Lemon item on spin 35. After that it was just under the Cultists, which it could never have passed.
Matryoska took over Bluebird on spin 41.
When Buffing Capsule hit it was for 159 gold, which was 5% of total money at that point.
After we payed the 500 rent I stopped tracking since the total amount of money we had gained during the run was already enough to pay off all of the rents until the final rent (a little under actually, we had gained 3949 out of the 4002 we needed at the end). There wasn't anything interesting to track anymore either.
As much as I love Isaac, a lot of my favorite youtubers’ content got exponentially better after they gave up their most famed series, so when Isaac ends I honestly feel like it’ll just open the door to so much more pogged up content not that this hasn’t been a legendary year in terms of content for NL
Now is the best time to get into Isaac. Egg and baby in the morning is pog.

HOW TO SOLVE CAMERA ALIASING: If you are OBS right click the face cam source > click Scale Filtering > Select Bilinear or Bicubic.
@Northernlion Not that you'll read this, but, the reason you have aliasing on your new camera, is as you guessed, the very high-resolution video is being down-scaled by OBS (I'm assuming that's what you use) without using the correct down-scaling filter. Looks like it's using nearest-neighbor scaling or something. What you want to do, is right-click your camera source in OBS, and select an option under "Scale Filtering". I suggest trying Bicubic or Lanczos. Both should completely remove the aliasing you are seeing. Lanczos is sometimes better looking in "natural" images such as your camera image. Bicubic will often look a bit better on "artificial" material such as game footage. Note that these filters do absolutely nothing if the image is not being scaled up or down.
For what it's worth, you should always select an appropriate scaling filter if you resize anything in the OBS viewport - "point" scaling or no scaling filter at all is horrific for basically everything.

Hey I'm loving this series, you inspired me to get this game. My one tip to you would be to try and take early symbols that are easily destroyed. Candy, Cheese, Beer, Coconuts are all easy to get and are destroyed by common or uncommon symbols. I find especially that Toddler + candy and pinata can hard carry your early game while you develop good synergies with the rarer cards later. Also I like symbols like rabbit fluff and shiny pebble that stacks rarer symbol chances. Also shiny pebble can be destroyed by archeologist. Liking the series.

I feel like cat builds are among the best, they have easy synergies, really useful common items and tend to be plentiful as well.
Anyone else notice the anthropology degree was making the cultist too much ... they were all worth double instead of one more each.

There's no way Isaac gets yeeted. It just can't happen. I've been binge watching Isaac from the very beginning for a few years until I caught up, and now I'm waiting for Repentance with such anticipation. It's gonna be sweet, especially after I took a little bit of a break from Isaac to cleanse the palette. Unfortunately, not only has Egg been continuously playing it all the time, he also played a modded version, which is usually a massive turn-off for a gamer. When someone starts playing mods, it means they've lost the interest for the game. As NL said in this video, it takes one really bad run for you to burn out on Isaac for a while. Probably the worst thing that could happen to an activity is routine. Once it turns into routine, there's only one little step towards tedium, and then hatred. Egg seems like a person with a little bit of a short attention span, and that brings him more harm than he realizes. Like when he went to playing exclusively Eden streaks, it actually restricted him from a lot of cool stuff. When the Forgotten pack came out, he played the Forgotten, the only novel character there has been in years at that time, he did like 20 runs with the Forgotten, saw there could be some interesting synergies with his club, switched back to Eden, and proceeded to never play the bone lord again. I feel like Ryab is getting tired of Isaac, and it scares the shit out of me. I've been watching these episodes for so long, I couldn't possibly switch to another streamer playing the game. The terminology is firmly integrated into my brain and banter expectations are too high. NL's argument of "just watch my older videos 4Head" doesn't work since I've watched them all, plus returning to a previous version of the game feels wrong, you miss all the changes, not only the items, but mechanics and synergies and stuff. After Repentance comes out, I won't be able to watch any previous version, it'll be so disappointing to see items not working or the weird balance. Man, I really hope NL doesn't burn out on Repentance for at least some time. As long as he keeps exploring the game for new content and satisfying zany synergies, he wouldn't want to stop playing (at least not as badly as he obviously wants now). Once he starts playing Eden, it's "on the chopping block" again. That's not the way to go, the game shouldn't be a chore. I feel like the best solution would be to take a couple of weeks off of Isaac before Repentance comes out, so the sensations are fresh and amazing.

Recycler along with telescope is the strongest item in the game. With a strong enough run and say, 10-20k saved up, you reroll for exclusively midas bombs and get rid of every single symbol. Then you get one flower and 19 suns. Then you're guaranteed to get 1*5^19 or about 20 trillion every spin, which (excluding small boosts from items) is the max you can possibly get. General zaroff to suits is a good way to start that process but NL didn't send it hard enough
