Well you see, it's blue, like the ocean. So it's actually a hidden diver synergy. Egg is pogged beyond understanding.
The man's work ethic is incredible. Always amazed at his ability to put out so much content, and now even with the baby. Just incredible, dude. You absolutely deserve every bit of recognition and happiness that you get.

The thing that saved this run wasn't the diver, surprisingly, but the lemon. Not taking any symbols and rolling with a 1/3rd board for that long is usually a death sentence. :)
I was thinking the same thing. Diver alone isn't a build, its a way to transition into another build by cleaning the trash out.
Trashing the comfy pillow for the urn opening item was criminal as well. But the empty board and no other strat was the problem
Lemon is criminally slept on, it allows you to be extremely picky and can easily, with just a little but of luck, get a build going that can go insanely far in endless as you have only the symbols you want to take and never really feel forced to take any just for early income
@@ZzShy Nah, a lemon can save a run at most. If you want to go for an insane run, just grab the stuff you need and grab a hex of destruction down the line, preferably after being able to move it. Once the hex is done, you probably already have a pillow and get offered holy water every payment.
@@rendomstranger8698 pre removal, to get a truly busted build, u need to have recycling+midas bombs to clear literally everything off the board, then one by one get the symbols u want

Archeologist is superior to Diver in that he doesn't destroy oysters but destroys pearls they produce. Just get enough oysters and you are set for life.
as well as clearing the shiny pebbles once they've helped you get the archeologist

@@Slixer Screw copycats. Suits and a card shark. Add a protractor and you're set. Although at that point, you can just add a joker and use the archaeologist to seed your new suit build.
Once you add black cats and witches to your copy cats though, then we're talking. That will blow any suit build out of the water and has real potential to get you into the billions.

I've picked oyster early six or seven times now, and never got a diver/archaeologist before I was killed by pearls. 'OP' forced builds hurt my soul.
I've lost quite a few times trying to get it going too.
I did manage to get one with two oysters and two Archeologists and it was awesome
I did the exact same with flowers but at least i have 7 million coins now
The one thing that Oyster does really well early is fill up the board, making rent super safe. The problem with a full board is that any other synergy gets crowded out. You can take Destruction Hexes but god forbid they destroy the Diver/Archeologist.
The one thing I haven't tried but I think that makes sense is using Oysters to make Diamond build possible. Get you through the hard times by having a full board super early, and then Diamonds get you through the middle game.
@@pwndnoob4937 that's what I do! Always pick the coals and oysters. Oysters carry you through early game and the diamonds with a dame later on is quite solid
I feel like this game isn't that RNG. It seems to just operate by giving you certain things depending on what you choose.

Oh my god I only just realised the arrows make everything in the direction multiplied! I always thought they just multiplied the symbol adjacent, and I still thought they were good even for that. Now I think they are insanely good :D

Archeologist can get even crazier than diver since he eats pearls but not oysters haha
NL, tried and succeeded (?) to shuck the oyster, waiting for the legendary Tabasco relic
The best start I’ve found for building up characters was with the dwarven anvil and using the gem collector guy. Ended up finding a ton of golems throughout the run and was able to stack the gem dude up to 80 and it would help because he would clear all the shiny pebbles and gems from the ore. It was a nice cycle.
So what do you want to eat tonight? Me:”anything seafood related, especially oysters!”

I was just surprised how much people like to attack you when you "devalue" a game. Which I wasn't even doing. But if I get every 10 dollar game of this range, I'll be spending 3 digit amounts in a month just for games I barely have time to play.

Ryan, the statement that divers scale better than dames is just wrong. Diver is strictly linear, and dames are exponential. The pain is real.
ah, but dames are limited by their necessity for constant adjacency (unless you have protractor and swap). Divers will consistently give out more and more, even if you get a bad spin here and there.

archaeologist is even more broko than diver, because it doesn't eat oysters. You can get a conveyor belt and like 5 oysters, and if you're lucky - you can actually have your archaeologist eat *more than 8* pearls a turn.

So many chances to transition to gems or suits for full endless. I get NL's point about not doing the same run every time - suits is either broken billions or a fail within a few rounds - but diver stalled out so early.

Hot take: Card shark is not actually a suit synergy more than it is making your few suits better
It is both. During a suit run with protractor, it allows for wildcard chains across the entire board. During a normal run, it occasionally gives you a wildcard that is useful as long as you aren't going for boosting a single symbol to the max with a bunch of symbols that themselves are low value.

Dame scales better than diver because in the late game you wont ever be able to get enough additional symbols for diver
But a dame multiplies stuff by 2, so you can take more dames and get more multiplying action.

I just happened to think, it would be super fun if they added like... a dragon symbol to the game that ate gems and gold coins and gave money in return, similar to the diver/archaeologist/mrs fruit, but maybe slightly higher scaling since a lot of the gems are higher value?
Archeologist is a bit better than diver IMO. I had an arch pig off and get like 90+ per spin by the end. They don’t eat the oyster, so you just constantly have pearls for the arch to munch on.

I think NL shoulda pivoted to Suits after the Joker. Diver did his work, and you had an extremely small deck with a lot of bonus uncommon and rare synergies.

So it is hard to judge in this specific context, as streaming gameplay to hundreds or thousands of judging people can be stressful. So I liked where you had diver, as that’s was building up to be essentially a driver. Then I would have absolutely attempted a pivot to either suits or cats. Any wild card option adjacent to a diver would also get the benefit of what you built up. That’s where card shark was an option that was immediately skipped over that I generally don’t agree with. With all this said, it is just kind of unrequested advice that may or may not even be looked at.

Coin on a string is easy enough to calculate as worth 10 coins on average, with a large RNG factor. Certainly better than skipping!

Hello eggman. How is baby egg?
If you really want to go "endless", try going suits with jokers, card sharks and golden arrows. I currently have a run going in which I sometimes get several billion gold in a single spin. go for stuff like rabbit fluff and passives that make it more likely to find rare stuff in the early game and of course whenever possible get passives that make symbols adjacent even when they are not. all the multipliers can add up ridiculously high.

oyster build is a trap if you can't find a diver, you get overfilled on pearls no matter what

i find oyster archeologist to be the easiest win possible, basically the same as diver but doesn’t remove the oysters

It'll win the run easily enough if you've got 2 or 3 oysters but it will quickly fall behind in endless.

Re: Dr Seuss. Man... Nobody ever read those to me when I was little, so I saw them for the first time when we made a baby. A couple of them are ok, but the rest just infuriate me. For instance, I'd rather scoop out my own brain through my nose with an oyster fork, than read friggin Fox in Socks ever again.
